A Story Behind the Picture – Our First Christmas

Today I wanted to link up with sweet Elle for a Story Behind the Picture!

This picture was taken in November of 2010. We had just moved in together a few months back and were putting together our first Christmas tree as a couple.

Christmas Day 2010-We were taking pictures at my dad’s house and Chris kept making funny faces when I would take the picture…

When we went over to my mom’s house we had taken some pictures in the snow. When we tried to take a selfie, Chris decided to photobomb with a snowball to my face. You can see it coming to the left!

Hilarious, that one…you can see his evil grin and everything! Hahahaha

I will never forget our first Christmas together because we had two new nephews (both his sister and my sister had babies a month apart!) and it snowed on Christmas! Something that is so very rare here in Alabama. Christmas is our favorite season and it is such a special time of year. I will forever cherish these photos and I look back at them every year around this time and just smile. He is still making me laugh.

Weekend Shenanigans

Hello there mid November!!! You guys…I was looking at my calendar this morning and I realized that next week is Thanksgiving!!! Like, what?!?!?! How is that even possible?!?!?!

I hit up the Sephora VIB sale on Friday to snag the essentials that I was out of. Foundation, airbrush and UD eye primer. Oh, how I wanted to much more!!!! Buttttt Christmas presents. I have bought hardly any of those, dang it!

I went in wanting Too Faced new primer….but I wound up hating it after testing it out. After a few different ones I tried, I ended up coming home with a Lancome one. I haven’t used Lancome foundation in years but I really feel like I am going to love this. I will check back with you after I get the proper introduction!

I got to stop at Birmingham’s newest addition: Trader Joe’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I have missed this place!!!  When I lived in Atlanta, I could basically walk to my nearest Trader Joe’s. It was a several times a week stop for me and I realized on Thursday just how much I missed it! I picked up a few of my favorite things and introduced Chris to them all this weekend. He was totally on board!

Soooo basically we ate all the carbs this weekend!!!

 Other than that, Saturday was spent watching football! All the games went in my favor! I watched my GA Dawgs beat up on Auburn, my Crimson Tide roll all over Mississippi State and just for fun I enjoyed Arkansas kick some LSWHO ass.

Sunday we got up early and headed to Waffle House and Target to get our grocery shopping done. We were back home before 9:30am!!

Then I spent the morning Christmas-izing house while watching Elf and Bad Santa!

Friday Favorites

Favorite Song: This isn’t a new song, but I love it. Mad by Neyo. I think starting next week through Christmas I will be sharing a Christmas song! Don’t hate, appreciate.

Favorite Moments:

–Chris and I celebrated our three year anniversary on Tuesday! I made pork medallions (our favorite home cooked meal) and we exchanged cards. It was perfect.

–Wednesday, Kathy brought back the confessions link up and it was my first week co-hosting! Thanks to all of those who linked up. I enjoyed reading your confessions. Don’t we all feel better?

–Last night, Laura and I headed over to Morgan’s house and got to meet Charlie Beth! Such a precious baby!!!!

Favorite Home Product: I ran out of my usual B&BW hand soaps and decided to grab some of the Method ones from Target. I am in love!!! I currently have Peppermint Vanilla, Sparkling Peach and Nourishing Almond Flower.

Favorite Recipe: How amazing do these look for a game day treat? Besides, they look way easier than a real pie!

Apple Pie Taquitos ~ crispy, sweet, and delicious, these taquitos are simple to make. All the makings of a great apple pie, in a fun taquito form. Genius!:

Favorite Lust: This cozy looking sweater from the Lou & Grey collection at the Loft is calling my name!

I was at Macy’s a few weeks ago and tried on these leather leggings from Calvin Klein. I loved them because they are only leather on the front. They were super comfortable and they came up high enough for me..which is more than I can say for others I have tried on. They run true to size in S-XL.

I am the VIP of the VIB

Or so I like to tell myself….

But seriously, when the Sephora catalog came with that infamous VIB 20% off coupon I did a dance around the kitchen that was quite similar to this…

Obviously in my batman cape. I did just get home from my 54 minute commute and well you feel like a damn super hero when you get out of that situation in one piece. Am I right?

After I pick up all the pretty things, perhaps my dancing will look more like this…

Anyways, back to my wish list. Here we go!

Needs:

I am literally out of foundation. I have been holding out for the sale and scraping and scraping the bottle I had. I want to try something new. I have used MakeUp Forever, Smashbox, Urban Decay Naked, Bare Minerals and Tarte’s Amazonian Clay. They all have their positives, but I want the holy grail. What is your favorite?  I was thinking Too Faced? Or maybe Bobbi Brown?

My beauty blender is falling apart. I dont think I want to repurchase it. It works great but brushes last so much longer and are a better investment. I love the airbrush they used on me last time I was in there.

I am about out of my beloved eye shadow primer. These little containers last forever for me, so I don’t mind paying a little more for the quality! I have been using this stuff for years and years.

Lusts:

I have been wanting to try the Sugar Lips stuff forever. How awesome would it be to have all of these???

Too Faced has some of my favorite shadows. This palette kit is just gorgeous!

My skin has been through hell the last several months. This would be a great treat to get it back in shape!

Confessions – The Link Up is BACK

You guys! YOU GUYS!!! I heard that Kathy was starting her confessions link up back up and I immediately emailed her to tell her how stinking excited I was!!! Then she was all, you wanna co-host? Um heck yes I do!! I might have squealed when I saw that!!!

So confess all the things bitches!!!

–I scroll through Snapchat (when I remember) and love watching all of your snaps and videos and getting to hear some of your voices. It is awesome!!! And I think that I want to video too. Until I realize that I am scared for people to hear me. Do I sound weird? I have lived all over the place…the northeast, the midwest, down here in the deep south. What kind if accent do I have to other people?? That’s why you haven’t heard me yet…

–One night for dinner last week I had peanut butter and crackers. Don’t judge.

–I updated my phone a week or two ago and it seems that when I do that, my text keyboard resets itself. And all of a sudden I am ducking angry for weeks. ITS NOT DUCKING MOTHER FUCKERS STOP IT!!!

–Since we are supposed to have a wet, rainy winter…I really want a pair of Hunters!!! I have said for years that I cant justify spending the money on them because I don’t think I would get much use of them. But like, we go to Gatlinburg every year after Christmas and it does rain a lot here in the cooler months. I so would get use out of them!!! Plus Kristen and Andrea make them look so damn cute! And Costco has them for like half off. Oh what to do what to do…

–You guys, who in the hell actually cares if your Starbucks cups have snowflakes or are plain red? It is a fucking coffee cup. Calm your tits people!!! I think this picture best explains it…

–I opened my mailbox on Friday evening to find these beautiful personalized cards from Andrea!!! She reached out to Laura to get my address to surprise me. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude for blogging that has given me so many amazing people in my life. Whether I meet you all in person or not, know that I include you all in what I am thankful for every day. It means the world to me to read your comments, our chatter back and forth in email/text, the smack talk that some of us exchange before a football game, the recipes and products we share, just everything about blogging makes me so happy!
