Friday Favorites

Hello, Friday!!! It is about damn time! What are you guys up to this weekend? My sister texted me last night and the bed in our nursery will be gone tomorrow! That means my new weekend goals is cleaning out every last non-baby related item in that room!! Huge step! Other than that I am not sure what else we will get in to this weekend. Well other than the usual cleaning and running errands.

Today I am officially 22 weeks! But here is my 21 week picture. I am getting my bumpdate up on Mommy Babbles at some point today. I have such a short torso that baby girl only has out to go haha! Maternity jeggings are the best thing ever. I don’t think I can ever go back to regular jeans again.

Favorite Lusts: I saw someone in my building wearing these shoes and I had to stop her and ask her where they came from. She said they are the most comfortable sandals ever. I looked at her and said she’s joking right??? She said no seriously they are so amazing. This picture doesn’t even do them justice. They are gorgeous in person!!! So tempted.

–I love nothing more than reading about women supporting other women. This GE executive is what we should all strive for. Why are so many of us cutting others down?? We have enough to face already. I am always happy for other women I see succeeding.

OMG!!! Too funny!! xD And completely true!!! | Why? Pride.:

When you try to be supportive even though you know it isn’t going to work…

When you are stuck in a crowded place and just want to leave…

When the menu changed and you already had decided ahead of time what you wanted and it is no longer available…

Exactly how I feel about the 2016 elections. South Park gets it right everytime.

I hope you all have a great weekend!!! Linking up with Amanda.

about me, currently

Currently

I haven’t done a currently post in awhile and I always like to see what other people are up to. You know, because I am nosy and all. I mean, aren’t we all as bloggers?

Listening: I started listening to Liane Moriarty’s new book yesterday though Audible. My request was rejected through Netgalley. So rude. But she’s one of my favorite author’s so I must! I have to say, it usually takes me about 5 or 6 chapters to get in to her books. I think I am at chapter 4 or 5 right now so I will weight in later on my real thoughts. Hard to say.

Reading: I am about 70% through The Restaurant Critics Wife. I have mixed feelings about the book so far but I am excited to see where it all goes. I am sure I will finish it this weekend. Once I get to 70% in a book I can usually finish it really fast!

Watching:Chris and I only have a few episodes left of Breaking Bad. Yes, this is the first time we are watching the whole series. No we don’t live under a rock. We just had too much to watch before and wanted to dedicate a summer of slow time to it!

I also started watching One Tree Hill from the beginning when Chris is out or doing other things because I have never seen it before.

Eating: Everything. Ha! I try to stay as healthy as I can during the week. I eat cheerios and a piece of fruit for breakfast most mornings, pack my lunches for work Monday-Thursday and for dinners we do salads two nights every week and then another healthy option the other three nights. Usually one of those three nights is grilled meat of some kind and we have been having a lot of taco bowls lately sans shell. My lunch this week is Spicy Thai Noodles, I think I will share the recipe next Tuesday!

Working Out: Last week I had a bad week. I was in some major pain and I had a lot of other things going on, so my workouts were basically non-existent. I haven’t not worked out for more than a few days in years. It was weird. I was back at it this Monday and have renewed energy. While my work outs look very different from pre-pregnancy….I am still getting them in! I walk on the treadmill 2 to 3 days per week, still keep up with my arm routine with less weight and I have incorporated 6 or 7 different pregnancy workouts in between.

Crafting: Pinterest and Etsy are dangerous places when you are pregnant. VERY DANGEROUS!!! I have found a few craft projects that I want to tackle for the nursery because I am cheap and refuse to overpay on Etsy. These are a few of the things I am looking at…

Excited:To make some more progress in the nursery. I have some most stuff cleared out and plans for someone in need to pick up the bed that we have in there. Laura has so graciously offered to come over and have a paint party with me when we get it cleared out!

Also, August is my birthday month! I haven’t even really thought about it until I realized that this is the last week of July. While I don’t really celebrate the whole month, it is fun to think about! August also brings us that much closer to football season!!! I am so ready to fill my Saturdays with football and food. Plus just another month or two of this unbearable heat before it finally starts to cool down around here!!!

What are you up to?

recipe

Pimento Cheese

I can chow down on some pimento cheese!!! These days, it just isn’t something you spread on crackers. I see restaurants putting it on burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches. It has become quite the star! Everyone should have a trusty pimento cheese recipe in their possession should the occasion arise for a party, tailgate or fancying up a backyard burger!

No need to fear, my sister shared hers with me and now I am sharing it with you after bragging to anyone I know that her pimento cheese is just the damn best! Have I mentioned that my sister is a non-criminal Martha Stewart? Because she totally is. I keep telling her she needs to open her own catering and cake decorating business.

Anyways, without anymore babbling from me, here is the recipe!!! You can always add or tweak things to change it up. Some people want something really spicy, I would add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce. My sister throws in sunflower seeds from time to time. My favorite addition to any pimento cheese recipe? Splash of Worcestershire sauce. It really adds something!

Weekend Shenanigans

You guys…it is hot as SHIT down here. Just felt the need to say that if you were wondering. I swear I just wrote last weekends post, no? Crazy how slow the weekdays are but how quick the whole week passes!

Friday started off with lunch at Babalu. I have one word for you: GUAC!!! I happened to mention something about guac to Laura on Thursday and it was all either of us could think about until we finally had our mouths full of it on Friday! I didn’t even snap a picture of it because I dove right in. I did manage to get my enchiladas before they were devoured.

IMG_9346

Saturday morning I read a little and cleaned house. I also borrowed my sister’s pimento cheese recipe and made my first batch to take to Sheffield’s first birthday party!!! Several people commented about the cheese and asked for the recipe so I will be posting it tomorrow!

IMG_9356

After the party, I headed over to Buy Buy Baby to register there. I found bedding that I fell in love with and have completely changed the color scheme I was originally going to go with. I picked up a blanket while I was there to use as inspiration for paint and decor.

IMG_9367

Sunday morning I headed to Home Depot to pick up some paint samples!!! You guys, this is going to be so hard!!! Why are there so many shades of every color? Yikes! And I haven’t even decided on what color the walls are going to be. I originally wanted a light gray but now I am not sure. I grabbed some other neutrals and pretty blush pink samples. Decisions decisions!

Behr Samples

After, I headed to Target to poke around and get our grocery shopping done. Ummmm how adorable is this mint green and gold heart ottoman??? And these wire baskets?!?!?!

Target Decor

I am really REALLY tempted to go back and get them for the nursery!!!

I came home and meal prepped and we are now up to the last season in Breaking Bad! Also, what would a weekend be without snuggling with our little Macachu. (Chris gave him a new nickname this weekend. Apparently he is a rare Pokeman to be caught!!!)

Macachu

I have made a little more progress on getting the junk cleared out of the nursery, got the clothes hung that we have so far, and have about a million other things I meant to do  but didn’t get to this weekend. There is always next week, right?

Linking up with Biana. Hope you all have a fabulous week!!!

Moments and a Few Favorites

Favorite Song: Last weekend Chris and I were enjoying our lunch at The Tavern and Run by Collective Soul came on. I knew who it was right away but he shazammed it anyways because he said the song reminded him of Miss You by Blink 182. Probably for the best because I couldn’t remember the name of the song. So I am going to go ahead and drop that right here…

Favorite Moments:

–Going “social media official” with our pregnancy announcement on Monday. All you blogger friends got to find out before some people that I know in real life! Do you feel special now or what?

–Snuggling with Mac. He is still super clingy and needy and I don’t hate it one bit. I love his little snuggles.

–Opening my mailbox on Tuesday to find this sweet, sweet card from Andrea!!! Blogging is so wonderful for bringing fabulous ladies like her in to my life!

–Getting a bagel Thursday morning because why not?

Favorite Recipe: This zucchini chip recipe looks delicious and like the perfect side or snack! No flour or breadcrumbs involved.

This chair for Baby M’s nursery! I love that it looks a lot nicer than just a baby rocker. I can see her crawling up in this chair to read when she is a little older. Or have somewhere for a friend to sit when she starts having sleepovers.

–Slides like these would be perfect!!! I find myself having the hardest time wearing heels all day these days. Darn the hip pain!
