about me

Thoughts for Tuesday

–Seeing all the Black Friday ads is bumming me out a little this year. Every year since I was 10 years old, my mom and I went out with the crazies for Black Friday shopping. It is one of my most favorite days of the year!!! This year I won’t be participating because hello, super hella pregnant over here! Ordering online just isn’t the same. It was more about spending the entire day with my mom.

–Speaking of sales, I opened my email this morning to see a Kate Spade Surprise sale!!! Man those 75% off deals are super tempting. I saw so many cute purses and jewelry in this one this morning.

–I am less than thrilled about the book I started reading last week and haven’t cared to even pick it up the last several days. I am not sure if it is the fact that the book just doesn’t thrill me, or if I am in a reading slump and need a break. I am not forcing it.

–Every time I feel off or my stomach starts cramping I think….is this it??? Talk about some anxiety!!! Someone was having a moving party at 2am this morning and kept me up for over an hour and a half. That would explain the scattered post today. I have my 39 week doctor appointment this morning so I will find out if I have had any progress since last week.

–I love love love that it is finally cold enough to turn the heat on at night. What I don’t love about having the heat on? Nose bleeds! Every damn day. Does this happen to anyone else? This has been my life for as long as I can remember.

–When is the last time you had a Thomas English Muffin? I forgot how amazing they are toasted with some butter!

–Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions? When I was little, we would always put our Christmas tree up Thanksgiving night while watching Eddie and the Cruisers. I have no clue how it came to be this movie, it is not a holiday movie and has nothing to do with Thanksgiving or Christmas. It is just what we did. My mom always bought a box of fancy assorted chocolates for the occasion. Then Friday morning we would get up early and go shopping.

Now as an adult, we spend our Thanksgiving split between Chris’s parents for lunch and usually my mom for dinner and then my mom and I head out around 9 or 10 pm to go shopping and return around 4 or 5 pm the next day. Except this year. This year we are just going to Chris’s parents house. My mom is skipping out on Thanksgiving since we are so close to my delivery date and my sister never comes over for her dinner anymore because they have other plans on Thanksgiving.

I leave you with this song from the movie that I absolutely love. The entire soundtrack is awesome and brings back so many memories!

And because I cant leave out this song either, I am sharing it as well. The guitar and sax in this one gives me chills. This video is directly from the movie.

weekend shenanigans

Weekend Shenanigans

Hello, Thanksgiving Week!!! What??? Still in disbelief about it. This month is just going way too fast, just like the past weekend. I have no clue how it is Monday morning already, but let’s get to it. Or try to, because I honestly don’t even remember Friday night. We stayed in and I guess I watched TV? Can’t remember!

Saturday we ended up helping a friend with something for a few hours, and then came home and I cleaned the house and started on the laundry. Exciting things, right? We watched part of the Alabama game with a friend of Chris’s but then came back home because I wasn’t feeling so great. Another could this be happening evening that turned in to a great deal of pain but no baby. Don’t know what it is with Saturdays? I guess she wants to come to the party too.

Yesterday morning I got up and hung everything on the walls in the nursery. I am so happy with how it turned out!!! I wanted to do a nursery reveal this week, but Chris hasn’t gotten around to hanging the curtains yet. Soon, hopefully. After that, I headed over to the outlets to look for some pajamas to wear to the hospital. Couldn’t find anything I liked, but I did get these super cute clothes at Gap for baby girl!! They seriously have the cutest stuff there and I want to go back and get more!!! Those jeans??? I die!!!

I went to TJ Maxx and got a really cute side table to go next to the glider in her room too. Literally everything is done in there now except the curtains!

img_0736

I then got our grocery shopping done, came home and meal prepped and made some chicken fettuccine alfredo for dinner while we caught up on a few of our shows. And just like that the weekend was over. I never got around to getting our Christmas stuff up. Again. I am so disappointed, but hopefully I can do that on Thursday morning or something. I really want it up before baby gets here or it will never get done.  I just didn’t have the energy after all the hanging things in the room and running around this weekend.

Someone has been spending a lot of time napping in the blanket basket lately. I think he gets tired of getting kicked off my chair so I can get up and go to the restroom. Such a rough life. The bottom left picture cracks me up because he was glaring at me from the basket for like 10 minutes.

Friday Favorites

I sat down last night after work and thought, “Wow, one week until Thanksgiving?!?!?!” Anyone else feel in utter disbelief? I had three people text me yesterday to ask if I was in labor. Three. No, I am not in labor! My due date is two weeks away, my doctor told me this Tuesday that she is pretty positive I will be in next Tuesday for my appointment still pregnant. Baby Watch 2016 still goes on.

This weekend we are going to get everything hung on the walls in the nursery, clean out the garage a little and I most certainly need to get our Christmas stuff up! What do you have going on?

Favorite Moments:

–Yesterday was a fun mail day! The curtains for the nursery came in and so did my VIB haul! Well, the one for myself. This doesn’t include the gifts I got because prying eyes and all.

–I have treated myself to some Dunkin Donuts coffee pretty much after every doctor appointment this entire pregnancy, this Tuesday I added a blueberry donut to it. Why not?

On the drive to the Dunkin Donuts I passed this place and felt like I was transported back in time. I had to take a double look. Glad to know if I had a typewriter, it could still be repaired?

–Grabbed lunch at Tazikis with a few friends yesterday. Had no time to grab a picture of my salad because I dove right in, but here is the hummus we shared. They have the BEST hummus out of anyone. I am at that point in my pregnancy where every time someone sees me, they think it might be the last time before baby.

–This guy is a mess. Grooming appointment set for ASAP.

Favorite Lust: I am dreaming of the day when my fat, swollen pregnant hooves go back to looking like actual feet and fit in normal shoes!!!! I want to be able to wear some booties like these.

And like how cute are these?

I would even be happy to fit in some shoes I could walk in like these

I literally have two pairs of flip flops and one pair of MK flats that I have stretched to ruins this past month that I can wear. That is it. It is a sad day getting dressed.

about me

Four Years (and almost a month)

My four year blogiversary passed last month and I never really got around to posting about it. (October 24th) I had some thoughts in my head for the post that centered around how the blogging world has changed so much in those four years. How many bloggers I have seen come and go. Some started out at the same time as me, got huge, then burned out and never returned. Some of you are still blogging strong and are my daily reads, and others I have quit following because they got too big for the britches and don’t talk to little people like me anymore or completely sold out and their blog is nothing but one sponsored post after another.

For me, blogging has always been a place for me to come and be creative. To get my thoughts out, to socialize and make a few friends. When I opened and stared at my first blank post back in 2012, I never realized that blogging would become my number one favorite hobby. I never realized that I would meet the person whom I refer to as my best friend. Or that I would have a regular texting chat going with a group of amazing ladies!!! (What up to my ahole bros.)I never realized how much the connections I have made with you all would have meant to me!!! A LOT!

In these last four years, you guys have seen me get married, change jobs, and now we are having a baby!!!

Before I get way to sappy and sentimental here, the point of all this is…thank you to all of those reading this. I appreciate you so much! I joke around that I talk to a lot of you more than people “in my real life” and it is the honest truth. We all have a connection through this hobby of ours that is pretty damn special if you ask me!

It has come to that time of year where the holidays are knocking on the door! Thanksgiving is just a week away, crazy right??? Last year I exchanged Christmas cards with a few of you and it was so much fun getting snail mail from some of my favorite people. If I exchanged Christmas cards with you last year, you will receive one again this year for sure! If any of you would like to be added to the list, let me know in the comments and I will reply asking for your address. Who doesn’t like happy mail?? I will say, our cards are going to go out a little later than I usually do them this year because I have something special planned for them.

Cheers to you!

Quick and Easy Snack Ideas

With the holiday season quickly approaching, time is a precious gift. I am always looking for quick and easy snacks throughout the day to keep me from getting hangry and give me the energy to power through work deadlines or Christmas shopping. Sometimes I get bored with the standard protein bar or almonds. Enter Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter!!!

img_0691

Jif has always been my go-to peanut butter. It was what my mom always bought when I was younger and so it is what I buy for my house now. When I saw that they came out with a cinnamon flavor, I was intrigued! Crowdtap was kind enough to send me a sample jar and I got all excited thinking about the recipe creations I could make with it!

One of my favorite snacks right now is having a 100 calorie bag of animal crackers dipped in the Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter! So easy and tasty. Two tablespoons of this peanut butter provides 7 grams of protein, making it a satisfying snack.

Another favorite of mine is slicing up an apple and have apple nachos with the Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter spread around and some toppings like raisins or mini chocolate chips.

Let’s not discuss how many times I have found myself opening the jar to just eat a spoonful right out of it either. Just for a comparison, Nutella has 21 grams of sugar in two tablespoons this Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter only has 6. You can feel better knowing you aren’t snacking on something completely filled with sugar!!!

What is one of your favorite quick and easy snack ideas?
