Friday Favorites

Favorite Song: I love Nelly you guys. I really, really do. But I prefer Thomas Rhett’s version of Die a Happy Man. His voice. Just yes.

Favorite Moments:

–I have been freezing in my office the last few weeks so Chris ordered me a space heater for my cube. It has been delightful being able to dress like the 80 degree outside weather we have been having.

–The Friday Lunch Club actually met yesterday. We were all craving Babalu. Who doesn’t crave delicious table side guac?? I normally go for the enchilada of the day, but I decided to do the grilled chicken satay instead. It was delicious! I ate every last bite. Obviously.

Favorite Recipe: Sometimes a girl just wants some ice cream. Check out this healthier option. It is really warming up down here in the south and this would be the perfect treat!

Make your own creamy, soft-serve style ice cream using just three ingredients: coconut milk, frozen fruit, and honey.:

Favorite Product: I grabbed a bottle of this alba BOTANICA Very Emollient shower gel in the Honey Mango scent and you guys….it smells amazing!!! I got it at Target. It was where the cosmetics are, not the shower gel. Other than the fact that it smells intoxicating, I loved that it is Phthalate-free, artificial color-free, labeled paraben-free, sodium lauryl sulfate-free…you know all that crap that is hard to avoid these days. Plus the pump is real nice for my lazy self at 5:45am when I am done with my work out and fumbling in the shower pre-caffeine.

Now that I know I love this, I want to try the shampoo and conditioner!!! They are not tested on animals, which I super appreciate.

Table side guac, on nom nom. Sounds so good and that satay looks amazing. I like Alba products. I have a huge body wash pump thing of Jason brand right now, it’s in the same section. I like the lavender smell.

When I worked in an office I was never without a space heater, I bequeathed it to someone else in need of heat when I left.

  • Reply Pamela @ A Little Glitter April 29, 2016 at 9:47 am

I have a little heater on my desk that I put on periodically throughout the day. It is amazing! Otherwise I am always freezing! That guac looks delicious! I feel like I need some of that for lunch today. Have a great weekend! xo

  • Reply Rebecca Jo April 29, 2016 at 9:57 am

Whoreo…I gotta remember that for a good come back! 🙂
I keep my space heater on year round at my desk.

So there are two places by me that make AMAZING guacamole and serve it in the same bowl—I didn’t realize it was a universal thing! Hah. I swear it makes the guac taste better 😉 happy weekend!

Oooo that Hawaiian shampoo looks awesome! And I don’t have a space heater but I do have our fireplace on at home right now bc it’s like 39 degrees today and the dogs (ok and I) are cold!

  • Reply Erin LFF April 29, 2016 at 10:21 am

My office is ALWAYS cold too- thankfully they provided me with a space heater years ago and I seriously use it almost every single day here!! That shower gel looks/sounds delish- I might have to look for that next time I’m at Target, I love something that smells AWESOME to help wake me up in the morning haha. Also… “whoreo” has me LOLing.

    Glitter IS always an option.

I wish I liked coconut because that ice cream sounds awesome.

  • Reply Kate @ Green Fashionista April 29, 2016 at 11:52 am

I always know I can find all the deliciousness here! And yay for space heaters at work, I honestly don’t know how I’d survive without one. My toes would freeze off! Happy Friday gurlie <3

I may have to come visit you! I was salivating when you shared your lunch yesterday… it looks amazing! And I need to check out this body wash! I have not been able to find one I love lately. Have a great weekend, girl!

  • Reply Dani April 29, 2016 at 1:30 pm

I’m so jealous of your 80 degree weather! I have a space heater in my cube too and cannot imagine my life without it- it’s ALWAYS freezing in my office! I just had Mexican last night but now I want that guac! Mmmm. And that Whoreo meme- LOL! Have a great weekend!

  • Reply Mattie @ Northwest Native April 29, 2016 at 2:13 pm

Table side guac is ALWAYS a good idea.

Okay that article was SPOT ON. I honestly never realized it, but after reading that, I know I’ve pinned a ton of outfits that are pretty brainless, but they drape perfectly on the model/blogger/whoever is wearing it because they’re thin. And when I say I ‘can’t pull it off,’ I just mean my body type is wrong. Seriously eye-opening.

  • Reply SMD @ Life According to Steph April 29, 2016 at 2:33 pm

Swooning over that nail polish storage.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Reply Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders April 29, 2016 at 2:39 pm

Hooray for not being freezing at work anymore! I always feel like that’s the biggest problem with living in the south, dressing for cold weather in the office and basically having to strip down to go outside. And yes to Thomas Rhett’s Die A Happy Man! It’s just pure perfection!

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis April 29, 2016 at 2:42 pm

Lunch club sounds like a success and go you for choosing the healthier option which still looks delicious and table side guac is always the best! I bought a space heater when we moved into a new office which was frigid and the office maintenance sent a notice saying heaters weren’t allowed so waste of money!!

  • Reply caitlin @ candyfloss & persie April 29, 2016 at 4:23 pm

So… can I just copy and paste this entire post onto my blog and call it good? Because I LOVE EVERYTHING. lol. I love the lunch club and the mango/raspberry stuff. yum! At first I didn’t connect “polish” as “nail polish” so I was looking for what is “POLISH” (as in the country) about it. lol. I’m dumb.

  • Reply Andrea @ Living On Cloud Nine April 29, 2016 at 5:40 pm

I bet that shampoo smells amazing! That nail polish case whoa, yes please every shade! Oh your food pictures always look so good! And it’s the weekend so I’m gonna be sure to indulge in some goodies like that! I hope your weekend is so wonderful and full of warm sunshine!

  • Reply Carly May 1, 2016 at 1:51 am

I miss guacamole!!!! Ugh so much. Although coconut mango ice cream is pretty common over here so I’ll just have to console myself with that. Have a good weekend!

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family May 2, 2016 at 11:20 am

Oh no, don’t give me new things to try at Babalu’s! I love their burger too much. But man that chicken satay looks incredible!

Glad you are nice and toasty warm in your office now!

  • Reply kristen May 3, 2016 at 11:35 am

    mmmm butterscotch.

that aplus article was very interesting, and very true. i don’t think it’s much about fashion though, and more about people are intrigued by celebrities, wanting to know more about them and be like them including being thin. i’m not saying it’s right, but it’s there. i don’t think skinny people are inherently more attractive, but clothes drape ‘appropriately’ or whatever, does that make sense? plus those girls are models, except for one, right? so of course they are pretty and gorgeous. also, they all carry themselves like they think they are hot shit, lets be real. i look like an idiot in shorts because i feel like an idiot. i would feel like an idiot in leggings and a knotted tank top. confidence, rather than size, is what shines through.
