Weekend Shenanigans

Friday-Friday evening Chris had one of his friends over, so we stayed in and hung out with him for awhile listening to music, telling old stories and snacking.

Saturday- I worked out first thing. Yay for week three in a row of 6 day a week work outs! I got a lot of cleaning and laundry done. I also finished reading the twelfth book in the Stephanie Plum series! We decided to stay in to watch all of the games for the day, and that is just what we did. We watched game after game after game! Happy with Alabama’s win, and sad that the Dawgs lost to South Carolina. Then we watched the game that wouldn’t end with Florida and Kentucky. Three overtimes? I was so ready for it to be over! Not that I really cared who won, it was a good game to watch though!

Sunday – In the morning we hung out and had breakfast and watched some TV. We then got ready and headed downtown for Trucks by the Tracks. It is an even at Railroad Park where all the food trucks are at the same place. It was super crowded down there! So many food trucks! So many people! So…much….heat. Fall, you can’t get here soon enough!!!!

We walked around for awhile and enjoyed seeing all the different trucks and people out and about. And all the dogs!!!! So many doggies! But then this northern blooded girl couldn’t take another second of the heat. I cant enjoy eating hot food when it is 934859348690468 degrees outside, so I asked Chris if he minded we head elsewhere. He was down with that since World of Beer or Jack Brown’s were his choices 🙂

We met a bartender that we hadn’t met before since we usually don’t venture downtown on Sundays. He was super nice and knew all the right beers to have Chris try. I ordered the Tavern Taters with beer cheese and Chris ordered the Golden Ale Shrimp. Both were delicious, as always! Duh!

Food porn, you’re welcome. Trust me, I hate myself Monday mornings when I see all this food that I only allow myself on the weekends while I await my all veggie healthy lunch that I repeats all week. Damn metabolism!

After WOB, we wanted to check out Asian Rim off Hwy 280. They told us about their Watermelon Margaritas….so we needed to check them out! Chris really liked them, I myself am not a huge fan of tequila based drinks in general, but it was good. And pretty!

We will certainly be back there again one day for their sushi!!!! I <3 sushi so hard!

The rest of the evening was filled with grocery shopping without a list (my OCD self had a mental list I checked three times in the store) and working on some blog related things.

Livvy tried to serve herself up on a place mat. Strange cat.

I hope everyone has a great week!!! I am guest posting today over on Jana’s page while she is out of town. Please go check it out and leave some love 🙂 Jana is awesome and I am very certain that if we lived closer, we would be hanging on the reg. The girl has impeccable taste in music, beer and humor. Can you really ask for anything more? No.

Oh.My.God. Those tater tots look AMAZING. And if you want cooler weather, head on over to my neck of the woods. Fall definitely made its debut in Chicago! Brrr!! Bring on the boots and sweaters!

I love your food porn – and oh – SUSHI? I LOVE SUSHI LIKE A FAT KID LOVES CAKE. Let’s just GO there.

My cat, Bryce, decided he wanted to be part of dinner last night – so he sat at the extra chair and kind of just watched us eat. Cats are funny funny creatures.

And now I want to craft some tater tot nacho type item.

I hate being out and about in the wretched heat.

    Love that statement necklace.

Side note. There is nothing more disgusting to me then it being a million degrees outside and someone eating a nasty hot meal. For example….Gator football games….and it’s 100+ degrees out and someone always walks by eating a steaming hot Turkey leg……WTF….I apologize for that visual but seriously???

It’s a good thing Livvy is so pretty right….. 😉

I am so over 90 degree weather! Bring on the Fall-ness!

We watched football pretty much all day Saturday too. You are so right about the game that wouldn’t end, it was ridiculous!

    That food looks amazing!

I love your cat, she obviously doesn’t care what anyone thinks, she’s gonna sit where she wants!

Eating out in the eat is not fun but I am super jealous of the food trucks. The U-Haul one is a little sketchy though. Watermelon margarita sounds fabulous! When did Livvy get so big?!

  • Reply tricia congilio September 15, 2014 at 8:02 pm

I’ve been seeing watermelon everything and I laughed Friday night while out at a Mexican restaurant because they had a little advertisement for it.

I def thought the food trucks sounded cool but, for some reason, I thought you lived in a cooler area. I know I wouldn’t want to go to one this time of year in AZ where I live. Still too hot.

    The food looks amaze!

  • Reply Jackie September 15, 2014 at 8:58 pm

I am the same exact way when it comes to the heat. I can’t wait for Fall to really be here.

    Tavern Tots… HOLY MAMAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
I wish I could get into working out. I’m jealous of your drive. :/

  • Reply Melissa @ Daily Chaos September 15, 2014 at 11:57 pm

I do the same exact thing during the week, I am a crazy foodie on the weekends but then I put on my healthy hat and eat well for the rest of the week! It actually helps with the metabolism!! Also it looks like you had such a relaxing weekend, those are always the best!

OK with the 3 weeks in a row of 6-day workouts, I see you!! Also, I have a hard time getting into the idea of fish and grits. I love grits, I love fish, I just can’t bring myself to try it.

PS thanks for the sympathy on the UGA loss ):

Air high five for a dislike of tequila drinks!
Everyone thinks I’m such a spaz for not liking tequila, but just the smell of it makes my mouth get that watery, omg get me to a bathroom NOW feeling. It all stems from a REALLY bad night drinking, and I tried Mr. Mystery’s margarita recently and my distaste is still there. I actually almost threw up in the kitchen sink. Guess he believes me now.

Wow big crowd for the food trucks. Love them in the city! Sounds like a great weekend. It’s already starting to feel like fall here in NYC which I’m excited about.
