Friday Favorites

Hey there, Friday! I picked Zoe up from daycare last night and she had a fever. Ugh. I thought we were going to go two full weeks germ free. I will be working from home today and hoping that it is just a little cold! This month is flying right on by. Before we know it, Easter will be here and everyone will be posting spring break pictures.

Favorite Moments: I received the sweetest Valentine’s Day card with some stickers from Andrea! She really knows how to make a girl feel special!

Chris surprised me on Valentine’s Day by inviting me to go to lunch with him. We went to IKKO in Five Points and had Japanese egg rolls, sushi, miso soup and salad. It was sooooo good!

We got Zoe a little something special to open on Valentine’s Day and they had a party in her class. She came home with a lot of Valentine’s loot! I sent her with applesauce pouches, Minnie Valentine’s cards and glitter stickers for each of the kids in her class. She really loved the card that Chris got me because it played music. She carried her M&M guy around all day.

I picked up two slices of cookie cake from Target as a treat after our lasagna. They were seriously up there as some of the best cookie cake slices we have ever had! My M&M’s reached out to me last month through Smiley 360 and offered me a voucher to put towards customizing my own M&Ms so I ordered some for Chris. I chose the colors, the XOXO clip art and uploaded our engagement photo. They turned out so well! They had sent them in a large bag with a white scoop and the M&M guy. Such a cool and unique present to give! I highly recommend.

Favorite Recipe: How amazing does this orange chicken look? I love making chinese take-out type food at home. It really saves on the sodium, calories and msg!

Favorite Show: Have you seen The Resident? My SIL told me about it last weekend and Chris and I binged all the episodes this week. There are only four right now. SO GOOD! It has the dude from Good Wife/Gilmore Girls and Emily from Revenge. It takes place at a hospital in Atlanta. This hospital isn’t real, but you get some Atlanta city scenes in some of the episodes that makes me homesick. Definitely check it out. Matt Czuchry is such a bad-ass doctor!

Favorite Lust: I want to get a cast iron skillet. Does it matter the brand and cost for this? I always see them for under $30 pretty much anywhere, but then there are some that are over $100 in the fancy brands. What are your thoughts? This one here is pre-seasoned, is that better than ones that say they aren’t?

I gotta tell ya, you’re the Awesome Sauce! Loved that card! TY! No need for an expensive one, cast iron is cast iron. I have my grandmas that mom said she paid $4 for it. Yay to a great Valentines, love personalized M&M’s and I love that Zoe has a stuffed one! Cute! Have a great weekend my beautiful friend!

Poor thing is sick again?! UGH! Bless her heart and hope she feels better soon. I think that’s a pretty good price for a cast iron skillet! We bought one years ago and it was super pricey… and it rusted. I’d rather buy something reasonable next time! Hope you have a great weekend!

It sounds like everyone had a really good Valentine’s Day– love cookie cake and those personalized m&ms are so fun! We’re on the hunt for a new pan, so if you end up getting that one you’ll have to report back. I hope Zoe feels better soon!

I have a cast iron pan that I never use. I hate that everything sticks to it. It said pre-seasoned.. but I’m apparently an idiot that doesn’t know how to use it. Oh well.

LOL to having the same 3 moods in one day graphic on the same day!

Poor Zoe! I hope that she gets better soon! And isn’t Valentine’s Day at daycare the best! The girls didn’t exchange valentines this year but they did some cute art projects for us with their feet! I can’t wait to hang them up. Those M&Ms are so cool! I swear I could eat them all the time!

I literally snorted laughed at your memes this week.
I heard The Resident was good – I always want to binge The Good Doctor – I dont know why I love medical shows – I just get freaked out that I have all the weird things they see in the hospitals.
I can always get down on some cookie cake…yummmmm

Get a preseasoned cast iron skillet and price is not matter, I believe mine was under $20 and works like a charm, I have a Lodge brand. It is one of my most prized possessions. I love the personalized M&M’s! I hope Zoe feels better and you have a great weekend!

OMG it is Logan. Took me a second, but definitely is him. So cool. I will check it out. All that food looks soooo good. Love those customized M&Ms. I hope you have a great weekend and Zoe’s fever was just a small cold.

Omg, that cookie cake!!! I still have a Reese’s heart from Ava that I haven’t touched yet but I really want to. I have an awesome cast iron skillet and it was a wedding gift. I LOVE it. I have a cousin who is the thrift store/good will queen and she swears that is the best place to find stuff like that. So mine came from the Junior League thrift store in Atlanta and was seasoned by some other woman long before me. Maybe go on a hunt in your area and see what you can find!!

LOL, Your funnies are so funny. 🙂
Zoe looks adorable in her Valentine’s outfit.
I have a nice (Le Creuset, wedding gift from in-laws) cast iron skillet that I use almost every day. I’m not sure if it’s that much better than a cheaper one but I definitely vote to get one of some kind. One of my favorite things is that I can go stovetop to oven in the same pan.

The three moods memes describes my week, and to top it off, I ran over my phone today! RIP. So glad I finally have a day off tomorrow. Poor Zoe! I hope it’s just a cold too. This flu season has been so rough!

Zoe looks like she had a fun Valentine’s Day. We did the M&M’s for our wedding and some of Ethan’s birthday parties. Such a cute idea! Hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂

Oh all of the Valentine’s pictures are so cute! Glad you guys had fun! Target is always A+ in my book! 🙂 I haven’t had cookie cake in AGES! Yum… egg rolls! I seriously have been craving Asian cuisines constantly this year. hehe Good to know about that show! I love him (kind of) from GG. I mean he’s not my favorite in that show, but I like the actor. The girl was on Everwood before Revenge and so I always get excited to see her in things. We’ll have to check it out! I hope you had a great weekend! XO – Alexandra

We exclusively use cast iron pans now. I love them. It’s not hard to season them so I wouldn’t necessarily rush to get a pre-seasoned one (that’s my opinion!!). I want to see that show because I love Matt Czuchry and I LOVE that girl – she was in Everwood and I adored that show. Thanks for the recommendation! Your M&Ms stuff is adorable!!!!
