Confessions

–I have a few things to do around the house and I keep putting them off because…..well because I don’t feel like it! LOL! I need to get my motivation back!!!

–Cereal and milk is a perfectly acceptable dinner.

–So is ice cream and a waffle cone bowl. Dairy and carbs, it’s legit.

–I research the shit out of nearly everything I buy anymore. Looking for a new face wash? I will spend days combing through blog posts, pinterest, reading reviews on websites, etc. And that is for a face wash. Imagine how bad I am on big items!

–Yesterday I pulled out a New York and Company dress circa 2005 and wore it because, why not? Remember when they used to be called Lerner? I honestly haven’t shopped in there in over a year because I just don’t find anything that fits right or that I like anymore but I used to love that store!

–Have you noticed that every house on Fixer Upper ends up with the same, super open floor plan? It has me questioning my priorities in the floor plan I want for our next house!

I’m laughing at myself because I didn’t mean to use Lisa Kudrow as my link-up thumbnail, but I’m sticking with her.
Your acceptable dinners are spot on. Last night, my dinner was a caramel sundae from McDonald’s.

yesterday i was still hungry after my teeny dinner (long story) so i legit ate spoonfuls of almond butter because i couldn’t bring myself to eat my breads so late.

    Cereal for dinner? Yes, please!

  • Reply Heather May 18, 2016 at 7:56 am

Cereal for dinner is always a good idea until you run out of milk…or accidentally pour water instead of milk. I’ve done it, no bueno. I completely agree with the animals, wait staff, shopping cart graphic!

  • Reply Lindsay Latimer May 18, 2016 at 8:12 am

Cereal is my go-to dinner! Ha! It is so funny you said that about researching things… We need new pot holders, and I seriously read reviews for days! Who knew oven mitts needed that attention! Ha! I can imagine how long we’d take to spend big money… Haha!

I just had a snack of cereal; I love cereal. Thank goodness there are very few records of me as a teenager online. There are only a couple and I can look back and be thankful I am not a teenager anymore.

If there hadn’t been leftovers available for dinner, I would have been picking up Burger King on the way home.. That’s how done with the day I was. I don’t even EAT Burger King, it just happens to serve food and I pass it on my way home. #notsorry
Also, we don’t have cereal in the house.

  • Reply Kelli May 18, 2016 at 8:28 am

Everyone is into open floor plans and I’m over here thinking give me walls lots and lots of walls!! You only need to watch your kid in the living room for 3ish years after that you’ll want walls I promise. haha

I love cereal for dinner and last week I let K have chocolate ice cream for dinner because sometimes I just don’t want to deal with it.

  • Reply Andrea @ Living On Cloud Nine May 18, 2016 at 8:31 am

Man, where do I find a moisturizer to help me, I’ve been tired since 1997! I had a scoop of chocolate chip on a sugar cone last Thursday night for dinner. In a cooking rut right now so totally works for me! Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, thanks for my morning confessions smiles

  • Reply ellesees.net May 18, 2016 at 8:43 am

open floor plans and white washed woods and something that used to be part of a barn! every ep! hehe. but i love it though. and cereal for dinner.

  • Reply Biana @ Blovedboston May 18, 2016 at 9:06 am

I’d have to agree with your dinner choices – I could go for cereal right about now…but it is breakfast but I’m with you for dinner too LOL! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

  • Reply Rebecca Jo May 18, 2016 at 9:16 am

I do that any more about researching everything. & I’m all about YouTube reviews too – give it to me from a real mouth or see the product in use.
Yep – every house is open… but watch, in 10 years, they’ll be going back & redoing these houses with walls 🙂 Everything comes & goes.

  • Reply Marie May 18, 2016 at 9:47 am

I have cereal for dinner at least once a week. I love it! I’m a huge fan of having breakfast for dinner. I haven’t shopped at New York and Co, in years! Totally forgot about that store.

  • Reply Katie May 18, 2016 at 10:49 am

Um a waffle bowl sounds amazing right now, with out or without ice cream haha! I research everything to death as well. It’s so time consuming and usually a waste of time, why do I put so much value on some stranger’s opinion of a make up primer? I have to laugh at myself when I get really excited about a person’s review, buy the product and end up hating it and then think “that bitch!!” about the original reviewer. Too many choice out there!

  • Reply SMD @ Life According to Steph May 18, 2016 at 11:41 am

Brownies are an acceptable dinner, too.

  • Reply carly May 18, 2016 at 12:57 pm

I love Chip & Jo and Fixer Upper, but definitely like when she goes outside her comfort zone and does something just a little bit different. I have a really old dress from New York & Co that I still love too! Cereal is my lunch for today!

  • Reply Jessica @ Pleas(e) & Carrots May 18, 2016 at 1:17 pm

My mom eats cereal for dinner all the time! And I have definitely had a waffle with ice cream for dinner in the last month! I also spend so much time reading the reviews and watching YouTube videos about like any makeup or skincare product I buy.

  • Reply Laura May 18, 2016 at 2:01 pm

I love everything about what they do to those fixer upper houses — I want them to come and do my house!!!! Cereal is completely acceptable for dinner – bonus points if there’s a cartoon character on the box, and YES to that last meme about judging people! I can’t stand people who are rude to servers!

  • Reply Emily May 18, 2016 at 2:28 pm

Firstly, Chip & Jo Jo are my life goals. Secondly, open floor plans are the only way to go. I want to rip out a wall to make my floor plan open. My contractors aka Dad & Uncle told me to stop watching HGTV.

I too research the shit out of every purchase. I am looking for a new platform for my business website & portfolio and it’s got me all sorts of stressed combing through all the platforms and reviews!

  • Reply Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders May 18, 2016 at 2:36 pm

Haha you totally sound like my husband when it comes to research! I think that he researched theater room stuff for about a year before we actually bit the bullet and bought everything. I’m really bad about researching for trips and comb through Pinterest for anything that I can find on the destination I’m wanting to visit. I totally remember when NY and Co was Lerner NY!

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family May 18, 2016 at 2:41 pm

I’m watching Fixer Upper right now! You are so right that they end up doing the same types of things to every house. Just like the couple on Flip or Flop. You can absolutely call every single thing they will do. And yet we still love those shows, haha!

  • Reply Cara May 18, 2016 at 4:33 pm

Hahaha I’m totally the same way about buying products. It’s like I can’t buy something unless I’ve did my research. (one of the many problems with being analytical) & I have noticed that about Fixer Upper. I love that show but the one thing that bothers me is the fact that they never incorporate a TV into their design plan. I mean what person doesn’t have a TV nowadays? I get it’s probably not as cute as a portrait, but let’s be real lol.

  • Reply Kate @ Green Fashionista May 18, 2016 at 4:48 pm

I’ve been enjoying lots of cereal for dinner lately with H out of town! And yesssss to wearing clothes that are over 10 years old because why not and totally judging people by how they treat animals, wait staff, and if they don’t return their shopping cart when they’re done 🙂

  • Reply B @ Sequin Notebook May 18, 2016 at 5:14 pm

OMG Lerner haha…I never would have thought of that on my own but the name came flooding back to me as soon as I saw it here!

  • Reply Mattie @ Northwest Native May 18, 2016 at 7:07 pm

I totally want cereal and milk for dinner tonight now. Hahaha. Or ice cream…that is totally acceptable too. I read reviews on everything and I’m super critical. Michael’s like, “It has 90 four star reviews” and I’m like “BUT IT HAS SEVEN ONE STAR REVIEWS” because I’m crazy hahaha.

  • Reply Caitlin @ Candyfloss & Persie May 19, 2016 at 1:51 am

omg, I TOTALLLLY forgot about Lerner!!! Too funny.

And yes, I’ve been tired for like 12 years now. WHHHHYYYY.

TOTALLY judge people based on how they treat animals. Of course.

  • Reply Ashley May 19, 2016 at 8:25 am

Cereal for dinner is just what some nights call for!

  • Reply Kay R. May 19, 2016 at 8:37 am

Heck cereal minus the milk is perfectly acceptable .. and happens quite often .. for dinner!

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis May 19, 2016 at 10:35 am

So thankful the internet was around growing up so there’s no evidence of my stupidity. lol I feel sorry for the kids these days and online bullying.

  • Reply kristen May 19, 2016 at 10:54 am

omg yes to what people do with their shopping cart when they are done with it. and omg i want ice cream and a waffle cone bowl right now, let alone for dinner.
i know the open floor plan is what everyone is in love with right now, but i am personally a fan of walls. i know a lot of people say it’s good because they can see their kids, but my mum couldn’t see me if i was in a different room and i turned out fine (except for that one time i split my head open but i was like 8, you’re supposed to be able to leave an 8 year old alone), plus, i have friends with teenagers and she says walls and doors are her favourite thing haha.

  • Reply mandie May 19, 2016 at 11:14 am

Mmmm, waffle bowl…yummy. Now you have me craving some Birthday Cake ice cream in a waffle bowl! Ha!

  • Reply Erin LFF May 19, 2016 at 1:25 pm

Cereal for dinner is DEF a win- you know you’ve got my support on that one! 😉 And YES to growing up with limited social media/new internet days. Jared and I were just talking about this the other day… like decades from now when people OUR age are running for President or something, will all the stupid things they posted on IG, etc still show up?! All the dumb college/high school selfies and parties, etc?!

  • Reply Jenna May 20, 2016 at 1:37 am

Yes to that last card. So much yes to that.
