Confessions

Kathy and I decided to not host the confessions linkup anymore. There weren’t many people who were still linking up and my InLinkz account expired so it seemed like a good time. I will still post confessions posts from time to time, because usually they are sort of snarky snippets of my life or what I am thinking and feeling.

–Chris and I were watching the latest episode of Grimm on Saturday night. It was really good but then we were like…hey wait…is this the end end?!?! Turns out it was. It makes me so sad because we just loved that show!!! I am still depressed about it. Any other Grimm watchers out there?

–It is really hard to fit in workouts working a full time job, a side gig and being a mom to an infant. Really hard. There have been a few days where I put Zoe in her high chair and stick a toy there for her and workout in front of her. I think she thinks it is some kind of game where mommy acts like a crazy fool. She smiles and giggles at me and I am not sure whether to take offense or not. I am over here trying to workout, what is so damn funny??? I am certain I look ridiculous, so I cant blame her.

–So this is the current weather situation here in the south. If you aren’t familiar with tornado season, you don’t really want to be in the orange and you sure as hell don’t want to be in the red or pink. So basically you can find me hunkered down with my helmet and Zoe in her car seat. I legit went to Walmart to get a helmet yesterday. I wasn’t the only one in that aisle. We take this weather serious down here. Especially after April 27, 2011.

So if you live down here in the south with me, stay safe! Know you safe place, grab a helmet and a whistle or air horn if you need help and don’t go outside to film the damn thing. Your life isn’t worth a viral post on Facebook.

Girllllll can I co-sign how hard it is to fit in workouts now that I’m back to work. We didn’t eat dinner last night until after 8:00 (and it was ready in the crockpot!) because between rush hour traffic, picking up the baby at daycare, feeding her and changing her as soon as we get home, needing to pump, workout, shower, ugh… it just never ends. I really need to start working out at lunch again, even if it’s just for 30 minutes. And LOL at the self checkout meme – so true! <3

I never thought about a helmet. That’s really smart actually.
The storms/tornado watches are already in effect here – its supposed to hit us this late afternoon/early evening. I just want to get home before it comes in. Schools are letting out early today due to the weather. CRAZYYYYY

Those ecards are the best. I’m dying over here. We just had a tornado warning here last week. We even wound up not having work because of it the next day because the winds had knocked out the power in a lot of the city where I work.

Stay safe tonight. I always think of you this time of year now. We are supposed to get nasty weather, too, though not as bad as yours. I can hardly find time to workout and I don’t have a child – you do what you can. I think that’s all any of us can do!

I get serious rage when I’m at the self-checkout and it tells me that. WHY? WHY DOES IT DO THAT?!

  • Reply Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders April 5, 2017 at 1:58 pm

I hope that you’re staying safe with all of the crazy weather! We’ve even had tornado watches and warning in Houston, and that rarely happens, so it really is a crazy time of the year. And I bet Zoe thinks that you’re so funny when you work out in front of her, but you do what you can, right?

I do lunges and squats and stuff while T is playing and he definitely either stares me down like I’m crazy, or cracks up like I’m crazy lol! Stay safe, friend. I’ll be thinking of y’all!

That healthy eating meme IS ME. I recently realized I need to get my butt in gear for summer and started cutting carbs and sugar and just making better choices…great! Except it’s been 3 days and I’m annoyed I don’t look like a Victoria’s Secret Angel yet.

that we should – does that imply a govt role? Now if you want to equate individual money spent to save the tiger in the same way that individual money spent to go to Vegas… then economic &qquo;benefit&uott; might be more subjective, eh?

  • Reply Cara April 5, 2017 at 2:53 pm

Yes, I remember the good ol’ days of an infant not staying entertained long enough for workouts lol. Or you would try to put them down to nap and they’d wake up early, strategically. Eventually it’ll come part of the routine though, so fingers crossed it gets better!

I don’t have a kid and after being out of the house for 12 hours it’s hard as F to fit a workout in. I try to at least walk at lunch and do squats and pushups throughout the day.

  • Reply StephTheBookworm April 5, 2017 at 5:54 pm

Oh no, that’s scary — stay safe!
And I’m right there with ya on how impossible it seems to work out, work FT, and take care of a child. Sigh.

  • Reply Andrea @ Living On Cloud Nine April 5, 2017 at 6:24 pm

Storms scare the crap outta me, thinking about your and hope all is well. We are getting snow here. Zoe is your workout partner!!! Bet she smiles so big when you’re doing lunges, lol!!

  • Reply Carly April 5, 2017 at 7:40 pm

Severe weather is the worst so I don’t blame you at all for being extra prepared. It’s the worst when a show ends and you don’t know it was the last episode/they don’t bring it back for another season.

Tornados are terrifying. We don’t have them in Chicago, thank god, but we did get one really bad one while I was at Iowa. Ripped some bars and my best friend’s sorority house to shreds. You can see straight into her room. https://www.google.com/search?q=alpha+chi+omega+iowa+tornado&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjesL3T9I_TAhVqxYMKHWONBO0Q_AUIBigB&biw=1024&bih=686 No one hurt! Isn’t that crazy? Everyone got in the basement safely. I was on the other side of town, in a frat basement (with my stuffed bear) and those frat houses have been there over 100 years so I felt safe, never touched down by us. I never want to be that close again though. Stay safe!

Hahaha, I love that you do your workouts with Z in her highchair. She sees you being active, too, so that definitely can’t be a bad thing. And heck yeah, I hate being nice to fucking stupid people — certainly not qualified for that.

  • Reply Robin April 6, 2017 at 10:06 am

“Don’t go outside and film the damn thing!” – YES! I’ve seen some videos, not just of storms, that make me wonder why the person decided that filming it was the most important.

  • Reply Lauren @ Oh Hey! I Like That! April 6, 2017 at 3:57 pm

Omg I have that same kind of rage at self check out, too! And yet, I’ll choose self check out over an actual person 99% of the time!

  • Reply texerinsydney April 8, 2017 at 3:10 am

Everyone of your memes are things I’ve legitimately thought in my crazy head.
I do know about those crazy tornadoes. Stay SAFE!
