Usually I am a pretty laid back, easy going person. It’s not often that I say “Just NO that is NOT OK.” But sometimes it is needed! Here are some things I am not OK with:
–Drunk driving. This should never happen. Ever.
–Bullying
–Hate crimes
–Lying
–Taking credit for someone else’s work
–Cheating
–Being unfair
–Stealing
–People who think they are so much better than others
–Ignorance – People who want to argue about a topic they know nothing about
What are some things that you are not OK with?
And of course, Wednesday didn’t really happen if I didn’t confess a few things in ecard form, am I right?!
When I saw that Helene and Sarah were talking about guilty pleasures for the #totalsocial this month, I knew I had to get my shit together and actually link up. What a fun topic!
1. Keeping Up With the Kardashians – Chris HATES this show. I think a little bit of his soul dies every time he catches me watching this garbage. I can’t help it, I love to hate them. They are absolutely ridiculous and they make me feel normal.
2.Cheesy hair band songs – I have an entire playlist full of this garbage. My parents basically raised us listening to the hair bands and I can’t help it. Whatever, don’t even pretend that you aren’t singing along to this song now!
3. Beer glasses – I love having fun beer glasses. I can’t help but spend lots of time checking them out at World Market and other places that have them. Double points if it is a brewery that we like!
4. Pictures of our furkids – My iPhone is filled with pictures of these critters. And food.
5. Law and Order SVU marathons – I can’t help but watch them. I have spent many a Sunday parked on my ass watching hours of Stabler and Benson. No matter I have seen the episode five times.
6. Funny ecards – Obviously. I can keep myself entertained for hours!
7. Sephora – Is it just me, or when you walk in that place do you just feel different? So many pretty lights, pretty packages, amazing smells. They suck me in every damn time!
8. Nail polish – I might have a problem
9. Jelly Belly – Give me ALL the Jelly Belly!!!! (Except for the buttered popcorn flavor, that shit is nasty!)
10. Needing to leave things on an even number or multiple of five. (OCD probz)
This past weekend was full of fun so let’s just jump right in, shall we? First let me start off with Friday at work. Laura had a special birthday surprise sent to my office, balloons and chocolate! Does she know how to make my day or what?!?! Friday I went to lunch with my friend Courtney, and after work I came home and cleaned the house and finished reading the ninth book in the Stephanie Plum series. Saturday – I got up bright and early and met my sister in Trussville for a little morning shopping. We walked around TJ Maxx and Target and then went up to the Pinnacle for a few minutes to do some birthday shopping for my niece who’s birthday is today! (Happy Birthday Haven!!!!!) She gave us some cantaloupes out of her garden and my birthday present. A curling iron, iron guard spray and three nail polishes! Can’t wait to try them all out! Around noon I headed home to meet up with Chris to start the birthday celebrations. He took me to pick up my birthday present: My first Kate Spade purse to join the collecting 🙂 Look how fun the inside is! Then we headed to World of Beer. Duh! I ordered the Tater Tot Nachos and they had a new Strawberry Cider on tap, Crown Valley Strawberry. It was delicious! I also tried to Trim Tab 88 which was amazing as well! One of our friends, Jeff, happened to be there! Our favorite crew was working on Saturday, I snuck a picture with Charles. Our friends Lanney and Diane came down from Huntsville to meet up with us while we were there. When we were heading out, Destiny left me a sweet message: We headed over to Southern Kitchen for dinner. I ordered the Jackson Burger that has bacon and pimento cheese. For an appetizer we had cajun angels, which are shrimp wrapped in bacon with a cajun sauce. Delicious! After dinner we walked over to the Westin, ordered some drinks at Todd English and took them up to the roof top to chat. Sunday – We got the grocery shopping out of the way first thing Sunday morning, then headed to Game Stop to pick up a few games. We got Super Putty, Trial Fusions and the remastered Duck Tails. We checked out Bargain Hunt while we were out, and then headed to lunch at J Alexander’s! I ordered the Alex Salad and Potato Soup. After lunch we went to the Galleria and I picked up the Urban Decay Setting Spray and my birthday gift from Sephora, then Chris took me to get us a slice of Cookie Cake to take home because it isn’t a birthday without cookie cake!!! It was Delicious!!!!! We also stopped by 2nd and Charles and scored a great deal on Mario Tennis for our Gamecube. Sunday evening Chris’s parents stopped by to visit for a little while. We watched a little of pre-season football and tried out the Ducktails game, which was super fun until we got stuck on a part that neither of could get past and we gave up. We also watched a few reruns of Big Bang while we ate some black bean nachos then headed to bed. I had a packed weekend full of lots of fun!!!! All the text messages, facebook book and other social media shout outs were wonderful. I sure do know a lot of people that know how to make a girl feel extra special! Just like that, birthday weekend is over and it is back to reality!
Favorite Song: 50 Cent – In Da Club – Because it’s my birthday! Duh! (Well, Sunday)
Favorite Moment: I met up with some of my favorite blogging pals last night at Jack Brown’s Beer and Burgers! Bloggers – check, burgers -check, beer – check check. What more can you freaking ask for?
Favorite Drink: I have been trying to only have diet sodas out at restaurants when I really want one. I had slipped in to a horrible habit of having them at work again and I needed to stop. I had replaced diet coke with the Zevia ones but still. I was obsessed with the Twinings Blackcurrent tea last year and I fell in love with it all over again. I like to steep it then pour it over ice. I don’t even miss the diet coke.
–I was scrolling through my Facebook feed last week and saw all the first day of school pictures. Then I started paying attention to grades and I was like “hmm she is starting 7th grade. Wait…7th?!?! WTF???? I remember when she was born!” Then I started doing the math to check to see if that was right…well shit! I feel so old….
–I don’t really like wine. There, I said it. *And all of blog land gasps* Sorry winos I like beer and fruity cocktails. Wine makes me sleepy and usually has a bad aftertaste for me.But just think, if we hang out, you can have all of the wine.
–I eat cupcakes for the icing, I can’t lie. I could do without the cake part, give me all the icing! The cake just gets in my way.
–While we are on the topic of cake, if any of you are wondering what kind of cake to get me for my birthday it would be a cookie cake. Yum! Just call me the cookie monster. Cookie cake is my favorite.
–I feel we should always live by the words of the cookie monster. Freaking genius.
–I often ponder what has happened to our society and how future generations are going to conduct themselves. I was in the break room rinsing my dish in the sink and an intern sighs loudly, and rudely says excuse me as he is moving me out of the way and reaches over me into a cabinet to get a cup. He then proceeds to stay in my way to get some ice. I stood there dumbfounded for a second wondering if that really did just happen. I loudly said “What the fuck?” As he walked away.
Like he didn’t even wait, he just moved me. I was two seconds away from being done. And he is like 12 (ok maybe 20 or 21) but respect your elders dude.So rude!!!!!!
