Friday Favorites

Favorite Song: When is the last time you heard this one?

Favorite Moments:

–On Tuesday night, my nieces cheerleading squad had a fundraising event at Chick Fila so I stopped by for a few minutes after work to support the cause and got to see all the kiddos, my sister, BIL and dad for a few minutes.

–Laura and I had a lot of fun at the sneak preview of the Southern Women’s Show on Wednesday.

–The same niece as above was nominated to the homecoming court this year! Annnnnd my oldest nephew was inducted to the BETA Club at school because he is a genius!!! Proud aunt over here.

Favorite Recipe: I love cranberries and this white cheddar cranberry dip looks bomb.

Everyone loves an ooey, gooey, cheesy dip! Cranberries give this one a Thanksgiving bent. Get the recipe at Little Broken.:

Favorite Pruchase: This is going to sound totally weird and random, but I ran out of my face wash and I wasn’t completely in love with the idea of purchasing the same one just because it isn’t really doing anything for me. It wasn’t making things worse, but it wasn’t make things better either. A long time ago…like we are talking college days…I used to use the White Beauty Bar from Dove on my face. I know it sounds crazy but it is cheap and really effective. I figured, what do I have to lose?! Ummm my skin hasn’t looked this good my entire pregnancy until this week after using it. And it was like $3 for two bars. And I forgot how incredible it smells! This bar bar paired with the Caudalie Grape Water and Moisturizing Sorbet I shared last week is a perfect combo.

Favorite Lust: I think I want a good poncho sweater or two. Something I can wear now, and then hide under after baby until I get back to normal. I am just afraid they are going to look dumb on me. I will have to try a few on. This one from Old Navy is a good deal.

Or this

I love this look!

–My sister was telling me that she is going to get Hey Arnold and some other old school Nick cartoons that we loved for her kids because she cant stand most of the ones on today. Then I saw this super fun quiz on which old school cartoon you should watch this weekend!

Favorite Funnies:

So sick & tired of it:

I just want a bathtub that will cover my knees and boobs at the same time. Is that too much to ask for?:

I cringe when I look at those shoes from the 90s except for the Doc Martens… I loved mine and wish I could still wear them today! Haha! Your nieces and nephews are really killing it! Congratulations on all their accomplishments. Hope you have a great weekend!

I’ve never considered ponchos before but that black and white one from Old Navy is gorgeous!!!

  • Reply carly September 30, 2016 at 8:57 am

That cat meme is totally me this weekend! Amazon Prime used to have Hey Arnold (and some others) and I sooo wish they would bring them back! I have two different types of ponchos from last year that I wore all the time and am excited to start wearing again. I love how easy they are to throw on and can seem more dressy or put together than you actually feel, haha.

You could do a poncho. I’ve never tried one, but they look comfy. I love when you find a simple answer to something that you thought would be way harder, like the face wash. I love my face wash, but am eh on my nighttime moisturizer. It’s the same thing – it’s not making my skin worse, but I haven’t noticed it getting a lot better. I’ll probably use it and try something else once I’m through.

You know I’m a sucker for ponchos, so I love these! I have been trying to hunt that one down that the girl from southern curls and pearls wears in that pic with stripe shirt forever and I cannot find one like it. Congratulations to your niece for being on the homecoming court, I’ll bet she’s going to look beautiful and I’ll bet she is a sweetheart just like her auntie! I hope you have a spectacular weekend

Good ol’ Dove soap for the face. Sometimes I think about going back to that too.

  • Reply Stephanie September 30, 2016 at 9:55 am

Completely forgot about those black steve madden slip ons. Yup! And jellies of course. The only other ones I had though where the unlisted strappy shoes, but not by choice. My mom felt I needed heels for dances and graduations. Lies.

I got that gray poncho from Old Navy!! I LOVE It. Love a good poncho! I have that cream poncho that Sourthern Curls and Pearls is wearing. It’s from Forever 21, a few years ago! It’s awesome! To be honest, I cannot believe that it has lasted this long and it still is in great condition! Who would expect that from Forever 21. That is so cool that your niece is gonna be on the homecoming court! She must be so excited. Have a great weekend.

Oh my goodness all the yes to the funniest. If I had known adulthood was mostly being broke and exhausted I wouldn’t have signed up…

I love ponchos! They are so comfortable and so forgiving! Also, had so much fun at the women’s show, and hooray for homecoming court and Chick-fil-a and all the fun niecey things this week!! I loved Doc Martens, and I wish I was cool enough to bust mine back out!

Arent you proud when your niece is amazing? 🙂
My mom always used Ivory soap on her skin & her skin looks better than mine & she turns 69 tomorrow.

I love how proud you are of your niece and nephew! You are such a good Aunt! I actually have never had Chik Fila and I am trying it on Saturday night for my cheat meal! Ahhhhh! I’m so excited! What should I order? It’s funny that you posted that Eve and Gwen song. Eve actually opened for GS when I saw them a few months ago and they sang that song! I rocked out so hard and Taylor just stared at me while I was wrapping while I was nuts. She’d never heard it before! It made me feel ancient!

  • Reply Audrey September 30, 2016 at 11:46 am

I don’t think I’ve ever watched that music video… And OH MY GOSH the phone that woman uses! Hahaha! My brother uses a normal bar of soap to wash his face, haha. And totally GO FOR that poncho look! I think you’d look adorable and they look so comfortable!
I’m sending that least meme to my husband. Hahaha.

  • Reply Sierra September 30, 2016 at 12:24 pm

Yumm now I want some chick fil-a! Love that poncho and both of those sweaters. Haha, the 90’s were awesome and I completely agree that cartoons are just not like they used to be. Have a great weekend! Beautifully Candid

So I have the two years ago version of the ON gray poncho pullover, and I didn’t think I could pull it off but I can (in my mind anyway…ha!) and this year’s version I think looks even better, like it drapes better…idk. I think you could rock it for sure! Also a bathtub that covers my knees AND boobs is something I’ve wanted forever. Some day, when we have money (crossing my fingers that this ever happens…ha!), I’m going to get a super deep soaker tub and be so happy. Hahaha.

i made my own poncho but now I can’t find it!! it’s pretty much poncho season now so i have to tear apart my closet to look for it 🙁

  • Reply kristen September 30, 2016 at 2:41 pm

i want a bath tub that i fit in SO bad!!! lol. okay, no lie, i used to use bar soap on my face and had no problems whatsoever, except everyone being like omg bar soap is the worst!! but dove was always the best, because it’s just so lovely!
literally don’t remember the last time i heard that song LOL

  • Reply Robin October 1, 2016 at 12:50 pm

I only wash my face with bar soap. It feels better than any specific face product, even for acne (I still get the occasional acne spot at age 28).

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis October 1, 2016 at 9:49 pm

It’s definitely been a WHILE since I’ve heard that song and I’m so jealous of Gwen’s abs! lol The cranberry dip sounds delish! I never think to buy fresh cranberries but I do make mean salad with dried cranberries, pecans, Gorgonzola crumbles, and balsamic dressing…so good!

  • Reply Erin LFF October 2, 2016 at 3:52 pm

I’m not a big cranberry fan but that dip combination of flavors actually sounds really tasty!! I definitely owned the majority of those shoes too at some point- haha, oh my gosh! Took me right back to 8th grade, I swear. Jared and I always say we want T to watch the cartoons we loved as kids because the stuff today is terrible!

  • Reply ellesees.net October 3, 2016 at 7:28 am

You can wash your makeup brushes with that soap too bc it’s so gentle. AND it is a miracle cleanser for makeup sponges.

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family October 3, 2016 at 1:55 pm

I’ve been using the Dove bar soap as a face wash lately too! Though I’ve been using the sensitive one. Jury is still out on whether or not I like it better than the Aveeno facewash I was using, though. We shall see!

  • Reply Katy October 6, 2016 at 10:16 am

That song. Ohhhhh that song. Love it!!!!!
And that poncho! Love it too!

  • Reply Amy Getz October 9, 2016 at 9:35 pm

Yes to the poncho – I want one and have no idea who to wear it and fear I’ll look like a chubby old lady missing the point! I just need to get one that isn’t expensive and figure it out! I wanted to check out the 90’s shoe link but apparently my internet is on lock down for the kids and cosmo isn’t allowed “due to content!” LOL!
