about me

Don’t Hate, Appreciate!

So yesterday was a complete shit storm. My day started off with a longer than expected appointment at my doctor’s office to coming to work to find out I was assigned to two jobs that I wasn’t originally on and an email asking where they were. Those are always fun to come in to, right? We are supposed to be able to leave at 2pm today, but I doubt that will happen based on all the that we have due. Here is to hoping!!!

I say all that to say, there is always something to be thankful for. It is cliche to say that around this time of year because we all have things to be thankful for every day. Especially things we take for granted!!! But I wanted to reflect on some of the things that I am thankful for today and this past year.

–I think it is obvious the number one item on my list is baby girl who will be joining us any day now!!!

–A mostly healthy pregnancy. I have been very lucky during my pregnancy to never actually get physically sick, no major scares, and all the pain, discomfort and lack of sleep this past month or so has been totally normal and expected. Totally worth it.

–Great family, friends and all of you bloggers out there who have supported me. Having so many amazing people in my life makes the every day great.

–Chris. Just everything about him. I am so thankful that we took a chance and met up that cold January day back in 2010. Doing life with him by my side has been so much better than I could have ever imagined. And now that we are starting a family together, I am more excited than ever. I know he is going to be an amazing dad.

–Netflix and Hulu -Come on…all of you are thankful for these services right??? It is probably what I spend most of my time doing outside of work!

–All of the every day basics that we take for granted. We are truly lucky to live in a country where we can say #firstworldproblems.

–Books. Nothing like getting transported to a whole new world whenever you want.

–This blog. It is so wonderful to have this blog to come to and share things and connect with so many amazing people. Most rewarding hobby ever if you ask me.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! And to those of you who will be out Black Friday shopping, know I am there in spirit! Happy eating! Happy shopping!

I was just thinking about what life would be like without Netflix (so dramatic! haha), love everything you’re thankful for in this post! I hope you’re still able to get out early today & work isn’t too crazy. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ugh. When I have a shit day at work I try to remind myself that I’m fortunate to have a job and that’s the job that give me a paycheck to afford my house and my dogs and my lifestyle. It doesn’t always fix my outlook, but it helps.
I hope you get out by 2pm today!
    Happy Thanksgiving, Nadine!!

I walked into a shit storm today at work and there’s no leaving early for me, either! So frustrating. I hope you guys have the best Thanksgiving and relax while you wait on baby girl!

Sorry to hear that you had a bad day at work. I feel that pain. I’m working all day today and Friday. I get Thanksgiving off. Then it’s 8 days straight working. Even though, I’m very unhappy with my office right now, I am grateful that I have a job, two jobs. I don’t mind my second job too much but I dread extended hours. haha Personally, I don’t find them necessary anymore since most people shop online and will continue to do so. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Bummer that your day started off so crazy yesterday and that you might have to stay the full time today! There really are so many things that we should be thankful, especially living in the United States. Sometimes it’s good to take a step back and remember how much of what we get angry about is #firstworldproblems. I hope that you have a great holiday!

Yes to Netflix & Hulu… I love living in a world of someone else’s drama 😉

Don’t laugh at me…I don’t have Netflix and don’t even know what Hulu is. I mean, I’ve seen it mentioned before but never even bothered to see what it is. Ha!
We all certainly have so much to be thankful for. I especially enjoy blogland this week reading all these posts filled with gratitude.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Netflicks and Hulu become even more valuable during the sleepy newborn/in-arms phase. I watched the last 2 seasons of Parks and Recs and I was like “How did new mommies function without this??” Good luck with your pending delivery :)! Don’t forget to bring SNACKS in your hospital bag!! I downed a whole bag of Twizzlers like it was water.

I hope work is better for you next week! Happy Thanksgiving (a couple of days late).

A healthy pregnancy is definitely something to be most thankful for. I know you and your mom have your Black Friday shopping tradition but funny enough I way prefer to shop online. Understandable you can’t make it this year cause you’d get worn out and it may not even be safe with some of those crazies that come out on that day. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!!
