Friday Five

Today is a random Friday Five kind of day!

1. Strawberries have started looking appealing at the grocery store again. Yes!!! The last few months they have looked very sad, moldy and frankenberry like. I picked some up both last week and this week from Publix and have been very pleased with them! I love strawberries.

Remember her? I have a Strawberry Shortcake ornament from FOREVER ago that still smells like the day I got it.

2. Loreal Heat Protectant Spray – I picked this up a few weeks ago at Target when my go-to Tresemme was not available. I have to say, I am very impressed and this may be my new go to. I really like how it sprays more evenly out of the bottle. The smell has some sort of sunflower (maybe) undertone to it that brings me back to high school, and I really like how my hair has looked the last few weeks since using it. Admittedly, I picked up Loreal’s new sulfate free line of shampoo last month when I ran out of my expensive salon kind. I picked up another bottle this month. I think it is a keeper, especially for HALF the price! I am a total product snob, you all know this….so that says a lot!

3. My oldest nephew turns nine next week. NINE!!!!! Where in the world have the years gone? My baby sister has a nine year old. What?! He is doing something fun with a friend for his birthday, so my sister is just having the family over on Sunday for cake and ice cream. I wont be partaking in the eating of said cake and ice cream, but I will be visiting with my family and telling Christopher to stop growing up. Sheesh! He is the sweetest kid I have ever met. He has the biggest heart and he is so smart. Proud aunt right here.

4. Ok all my fitness/healthy lifestyle  journey people. I think I need an accountability partner. Someone who wants to randomly text me with encouraging words, their confessions of eating a cookie, or something funny to get me through my day. Especially on the weekends when I would kill a kitten for a cheeseburger. (Just kidding I would never kill a kitten. Duh!) Anyone out there need the same? I can throw in a few pictures of Gracie or Mac if you want. Chris is no help by asking this like, “Did you pick up ice cream this week?” No I didn’t pick up ice cream because if I see it in the freezer, five pounds of flab goes straight to my abs! I don’t even have to eat it, it just being there makes me gain weight.

5. Can I get an amen?!

    Love that ecard!

I used to use that L’Oreal shampoo. I have an expensive set (Goldwells) and a non expensive set (Garnier) that I go back and forth with.

I used to love Strawberry Shortcake.

I saw this Paleo recipe for strawberry banana pancakes that look SO good!

Oooh I have a coupon for that L’Oreal stuff so I will probably give it a try. I use the Suave Professionals heat spray and I am fine with it but I don’t love it so maybe a change is in order?

Why do kids have to get older? It isn’t fair! The ecard is awesome. And good luck with accountability. I would be awful with it right now but I am hoping we can get to the store this weekend and get back to cooking dinner, rather than scrounging for it and eating junk every night!

    1. I can smell it now!!
    5. Hahaha. Amen. I love my job but that is for sure true on Fridays!

I love strawberries too! I wanted to pick some up last weekend but they had that look and I don’t know who finds that appetizing.

I had a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox back int he day! And, I’m always afraid to try a new shampoo/conditioner set because let’s face it, it’s all expensive, and Terry hates nothing more than for me to have three sets of shampoos/conditioners in the shower! But, I just might have to try this one out! Happy Birthday to your nephew! And if you don’t want the cake, you can bring me your slice. Ha. Of course, I only have a month left of saying stuff like that! =) Happy Friday, and thanks for linking up!! Y’all have a wonderful weekend!

i’ve been eating 1 piece of chocolate (or a handful of choco covered almonds) every day and i regret nothing! those little things don’t even make a dent if your eating is like, 80 or 90% clean. so don’t beat yourself up if you indulge once in a while (unless you’re working towards a specific goal).

Good to know about the Loreal products! I’m going to look for those next time.

I got some strawberries last night when we went grocery shopping… I’m gonna pack them in my lunch today! I agree with you… they JUST started looking good. I bought some a couple of weeks ago and they were total duds – went bad after only a few days.

Hey Nadine! You’re so right about the new L’Oreal products! I am loving them also, and am usually more into the salon brands for my hair! Plus, it smells so good 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Girl, you can text me anytime for words of encouragement and keeping on track.

Also, thank you for posting that blow out spray. Does it make your hair really voluminous. I have to tell you, L’oreal has been impressing me lately. I have a hard time with dry shampoo because it makes my hair greasy. I hate washing my hair everyday so obvi I need dry shampoo. I bought the kind by L’oreal in the purple and silver bottle and I absolutely freaking love it! No grease and it adds a lot of volume.

I was eyeing the strawberries at the grocery store this weekend but I didn’t get them. Now you’re making me wish I did!
