Friday Favorites

Look at me, three blog posts in one week! Life has been insane the last few weeks, and instead of talking about all that right now….I want to talk about my favorites! Speaking of favorites, who else is stoked that it is October!!! October, November and December are my favorite months of the year!! I just love the fall, the crisp mornings (where are they????), football, thoughts of Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, all the fun fall treats, more togetherness with family, Zoe’s birthday! And also this…

Image result for the last 90 days of the decade what are you doing

You guys!!!! I mean, logically I knew that 2020 was upon us. But I hadn’t really considered the fact that it is the last few months of the decade!!! What are you going to do to make it count???? It isn’t too late to finish out strong!

Favorite Moment: Last night when I picked Zoe up from daycare, there was a note on her cube saying that she should wear panties to school tomorrow!!!! She has been doing so well with potty training!!! I am so proud of her, she has worked really hard the last few weeks.

Some advice for parents that are entering the potty training phase….wait until they are ready!!! They tried to push Zoe over the summer with it, since she was the youngest in her class at the time and all the other kids were potty trained. But, she was 6 months younger. She simply didn’t have an interest and was not ready. Now that the new school year has started, she is in with more kids who are learning. We did potty charts, rewards, tried out panties on weekends we were home, and were just patient and didn’t force her too much. It took about three weeks, but now she has gone some time with no accidents! She is so proud of herself every time she goes, and it has become fun for her instead of a nightmare for all of us.

Favorite Products: I have tried out some new lotions that I really love. I have been using these for about 3-4 months now. They all smell fabulous and feel great on my skin. The Hydro Boost has hyaluronic acid, so you know it is good!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Whipped Body Balm, 6.7 Ounce

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Whipped Body Balm – I love that this stuff is in a jar, that way you can use every last drop of the product! This has a nice whipped finished, as advertised. I usually use this in the evenings.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Body Gel Cream with Hyaluronic Acid - 16oz

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Gel – I like this one for after my shower. It is a little bit lighter, and perfect for putting on right before getting dressed. It isn’t greasy at all.

Jergens Honey– I LOVE the smell of this one. I usually switch between this and hydro boost in the mornings. I can only find it at Ulta, Target and Walgreens. Not sure why that is. I hope they are discontinuing it!

Smoky Maple Roasted Acorn Squash is an easy but elegant side dish that highlights fall produce. Easy enough for a week day, pretty enough for the holidays! Budgetbytes.com #sidedish #vegan

Favorite Recipe: Whipped this recipe back out this week! I often make it with just salt and pepper too. I popped it in the air fryer, which worked out beautifully.

I seriously didn’t even grasp the whole decade concept until you just said it. Same type of thing, I knew it was coming but it just didn’t even seem right. I completely agree about the whole body training thing, it was a much better experience for us when they were ready. I can’t do the whole locking myself in the house for a weekend where the kid’s running around with no underwear and trying to get them to grasp the whole concept LOL. I mean to each their own. I hope you have a great weekend!

I can’t believe you put that decades thing back out there and stressed me out all over again. I mean, what have I done this past decade? So proud of Z and her potty training!!

yessss to Z and potty training! I totally agree with not rushing them; my sister did that with her son and it backfired on her BIG time so he refused until he was way older and it got so bad that she bought a buzz lightyear toy (when it was big back then), TAPED IT HIGH ON THE BATHROOM WALL and told him that if he went potty for 3wks straight, he can have the toy LOLOLOLOLOLOL

    LOL – that Alexa one!!!!
I think Zoe needs some cute little Princess Undies to celebrate the next step 🙂
I’m going to add that honey lotion to my Target list. I’m always on the hunt for a good lotion – I’m so picky about it.

The video of you shopping meme is too funny and sooo true. Ha. Ya for Zoe. That is awesome. Potty training is tough. That dish looks really yummy. Have a great weekend!

Wow. Way to hit me from the jump with that decade business. It didn’t occur to me!

Ohmygosh, potty training. My kid is only 14 months and my neighbor said I need to start that? No.
Also, I can’t wait for fall cooking and baking. Summer doesn’t have that same feel for food.

Wow, I did not think about it being the end of a decade! I guess I should since I was born in 1979 so I hit a round number at the end of every decade! Congrats on the potty training! That will be a game changer. Lol to the wine stopper, I still can’t find the reason and live alone! Have a great weekend!

I didn’t realize it was the end of a decade. LOL Jeez. That’s kind of cool though. I’m glad Zoe is doing well with potty training. That’s very exciting. Love all your funnies. 🙂

Holy shit, a new decade!! wowza. WAY TO GO Zoe. I love your point about waiting until they are ready. I think that there’s always so much pressure on us as parents that spills on the children, and it’s great to let it happen when it’s ready. Hope you have a great week ahead. I lol’d at the grandma meme.

LOL that last meme is my husband! And way to go Zoe! I hear ya on the potty training. We have tried several times now, and as interested as she is in it and is showing ALL the signs that she’s ready – the fact that she holds it in for hours and refuses to go ON the potty and only in a diaper shows she’s still not quite ready. Deep breaths over here 😛

Oh my gosh, the decade thing did not occur to me either! Crazy. So true regarding potty training. My friend felt super pressured by our daycare unfortunately…it’s been over a year and her daughter has ZERO interest. It went much more smoothly for us, probably partially because we waited until she was asking about it herself. Sad that so many places try to make all kids do it on the same time frame!
