I made the mistake of updating WordPress this morning, and everything looks different. It has been the same since I made the switch several years ago and I feel so lost! Anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! I wanted to link up with Kristen last Thursday for What’s New With You, but life happens and it didn’t work out. So here I am a few days later.

Reading: I have been reading The Lies We Told for the last month. It isn’t the books fault, but rather adulting. I have spent every free moment before Zoe wakes up and during nap time painting and setting back up our spare room. When I do pick it up, I am enjoying it.

Listening: I am almost done with Grown Up Kind of Pretty on audiobook, and hope to have it ready to go for the book link up tomorrow!

Watching: Blacklist!!! We started binging this last week and we cant stop wont stop!

Enjoying: The weather!!! It has basically rained here for a month straight, but this weekend was sunny and in the 60s! We made the most of it, and played outside for quite awhile Saturday.

Eating: We are still going strong on Whole 30. Honestly, I am not enjoying it at all this time around. It isn’t even hard for me anymore…which is nice. But it is bringing me no joy. I am mainly pissed off that I cant have my one joy in the mornings, my creamer. And I still feel bloated and gross and see much faster results when I am tracking points with Weight Watchers. I am not sure if I am going to continue on past this week. I have done this enough times now to know what makes me feel like shit and what doesn’t, and I know it isn’t a lifestyle I want to maintain.

I did make some yummy spicy chicken stuffed sweet peppers and loaded sweet potato fries this weekend. Honestly, most of our weeknight meals are Whole 30 compliant anyways.

Excited: I scooped up some Valentine’s day treats for Zoe’s friends at school at Target yesterday while the getting was still good! She will be giving them heart bracelets, bubble wands and she picked out Vamparina cards to go in heart treat bags. I think I am going to get some fruit snacks too. She is already excited for their Valentine’s Day party since she missed the Christmas party last month due to a fever. The holidays are a million times better with her, even the little ones like this that I don’t really care about.

We are ready for the Championship game tonight!!! Roll Tide!

Will be the BEST Valentines treats at that party!! Zoe looked so cute in her little sweater and amazing sunnies, yay for weather warm enough to play outside without a coat. Hope this January treats you right sweet friend!

I definitely almost thought about getting Sheff’s valentine’s yesterday, but I didn’t. I totally should have just to get it the hell out of the way. This weekend was so beautiful – glad you guys got to spend some time outside.

I am scared of word press. I need to know what you did to those fries, they look so good! Let go of the Whole 30 if you aren’t loving it. We just need to find what works for us and feels good. Sorry to say I am cheering against your team tonight but I have a feeling you are going to win anyway 😉 Have a great day!

Those fries look sooooo good. I’ve been trying to read more this year and I’m already off to a decent start. I picked Up some valentines for Bella to take to the few kids at the sitter, but thought it would be fun for sure!

Ugh, I hate the wordpress update too. I’m using the classic editor until I’m literally forced not to lol. And those fries look amazing! Hope you all had a great holiday season and Zoe enjoyed all the fun!

That’s why I’m afraid to make the switch to WordPress. I feel like my blog would fall apart and I wouldn’t know what to do lol. So glad you got to enjoy some nice weather. I say do what makes you happy and if Whole30 isn’t cutting it this time, bye-bye. I picked up some Valentine’s day things for the boys the other day too. I remember waiting until closer to Valentine’s Day last year and almost everything was sold out. Sierra Beautifully Candid

Ok, but when did Zoe turn 16? Seriously. She looks so mature and trendy in those outside pics!
I hate it when reading takes a backseat to adulting but that’s life I guess.
I use WP, too, and I always switch my dashboard to the old dashboard. Maybe you can? It’s the last option on the left hand menu. All the way at the end. Dunno…

hmm i am curious about that lies we told book but i’ll wait for your final recommendation whether i should pick it up or not. ugh i’m sorry about the whole 30, but if you’re not enjoying it and it’s not doing anything for you, i’d stop. you know you can do it, so it’s not about that. like you said, it’s not something you want to do forever.

I say fuck it. Have the coffee creamer (as I say every year that is something I will never give up) and do the WW if that makes you feel good! Life is too short to do what does not make you feel good.

Zoe looks so grown up in her little pigtails and sunglasses– too cute! You know from doing the Whole 30 in the past how it will make you feel, so I agree with everyone else that you should switch to what you like– or just have the creamer and amend the rules a little bit??

  • Reply Rebecca Jo January 7, 2019 at 6:52 pm

Ahh – boo! If its just making you miserable, maybe your body is telling you to go back to your WW plan.
Isnt it so nice to let Zoe play OUTSIDE in January????

I’m glad you’re book is good, even if you don’t have much time to read. Yay for a nice weekend – weather wise. It wasn’t too bad where I live either, but now it’s pretty dang windy and it might snow later this week. LOL Gotta enjoy it while we can.

I’m hoping to start a new show, so I need to start watching blacklist! I can’t believe it’s almost valentines day! I’m sure each holiday just gets more and more exciting! xo, Biana

SO happy to see you back around these parts even if there was an annoying WP update. Yay for the return of sunshine, and if Whole 30 isn’t bringing your joy this time around say goodbye. You’ve got this girlie <3

  • Reply kathy @ more coffee, less talky January 8, 2019 at 8:07 am

girl, if it ain’t working for you, go back to WW. aint nobody got time for misery! and for real man, if coffee + your fav creamer is your lifeline, why deny yourself of that little bit of AM joy? when I was doing intermittent fasting, they said black coffee was ok but i dont do black coffee so i continued with my usual coffee and guess what? it didn’t cause any downward spirals or anything; everything still worked so i say add that creamer!

Those loaded sweet potato fries look like heaven! I agree with Kathy, if you aren’t loving Whole30 this time around, & WW works for you, do what works & you love!

  • Reply StephTheBookworm January 8, 2019 at 2:15 pm

Adulting is the worst and is the exact reasons my reading numbers have been down over the last few years!

Oh goodness Zoe looks so cute in her outfit and sunglasses. Such a diva! LOL
