Confessions

–Last weekend, Chris mentioned that he might be having some friends over while I was out with Laura. He told me this 30 minutes before I needed to get ready to leave. I cleaned the entire house in 30 minutes. I am most productive under pressure, obviously!! #ohshit

–Another example? Stephanie posted about packing for a trip and I can see how organized she is. Me? I pack about 30 minutes before it is time to leave. Why? Because otherwise I will obsess and change my mind about what I am going to bring and that just takes too much anxiety and worry. I make a list of things to make sure I don’t forget, but I need the pressure to just get it done! #lastminute

–I think I have fallen in to the audiobook rabbit hole. Listening to The Martian has been amazing and I feel like I want to spend more time in my car just so I can hear more. Work really is getting in the way of that…

–My car needs washed. It needs washed real bad. As in, I can’t remember the last time I washed it? Probably last year. (I have vacuumed it more recently though, that’s something right??) #washme #neglect

–I suck at hair. I suck at hair so hard. I want to have some cute loose curls every now and then or something. I have a curling wand, but I can never get anything to hold with it. What is your favorite curling iron? What products are you using to hold that shit together? #helpme

–I have been drinking coffee with almond milk for 3 or 4 weeks now and this morning I made my usual cup…took one sip and was like NOPE. I spilled it out and got another cup with the flavored caramel coffee creamer I buy for Chris. Some mornings you need the good stuff, you know? #givemeallthefakecreamer

Confessions in ecard:

No thigh gap. My thighs are so damn sexy Plus size girls rocks !

for anyone who gets stuff done and legit works out

Meanwhile, here in Alabama….

Yes to 20 years ago still being the 80s. And yes to this God awful humidity. I hate it I hate it I hate it. My hair has been up in a (sometimes messy) bun for over a week now, because I can’t even stand the feeling of it touching my neck. Maybe it’s just time to cut it all off? Can’t help you with the curls! I have a curling wand that works well for corkscrewy curls, but to get soft waves or looser curls, they just fall out of my hair without a whole bunch of product that I refuse to put in it. Plus. It’ll still wind up in a bun anyway!

I’m right there with you on that cleaning!!! I spend most of my down time lounging in bed so I always schedule my cleaning around when people will stop by. #judgeme

  • Reply Laura June 24, 2015 at 9:37 am

YES to laying on the floor with all those fans. That looks delightful! If I could figure out the pretty soft wave thing, I’d let you in on the secret. Even after watching tutorials, I still suck big time at it. Maybe one day we will learn the secret.

When I want beachy waves I use salt spray and put my hair in a bun before the salt spray dries, take it down a few hours later and I have waves. I also wait until my hair is almost dry put it in a bun, same results as above. I never brush my hair for this either I use my fingers, a few tangles help hold the waves in.

  • Reply Robin June 24, 2015 at 9:50 am

I can’t do much with hair, either. I wait for it to mostly dry, maybe use a flat iron (only about half the time), and brush it.

  • Reply Marie June 24, 2015 at 10:07 am

My hair hates the summer. I wash it at night and do a french braid. In the morning I have really nice beachy waves. Although, I ususally just throw it up in a messy bun and call it a day. I too love creamer especially the flavored ones.

  • Reply Tracie June 24, 2015 at 10:17 am

I left my good fan at work and am sooo pissed I don’t have it at home over the summer! I get pissed when G tells me people are coming over and I didn’t know about it, because the dog hair MUST go before people come over. It is a necessity.

I clean best under pressure too and it’s amazing what we can get done LOL! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

I am terrible at car cleanliness.

We have a gaming group that meets every other Sunday. So how often does the house get cleaned? Twice a month on Sunday mornings. 😛 Honestly, I think that’s one of the best things about having people over. Otherwise we’d let it go for far too long. Let me know if you ever figure out curls! My hair has always defeated me and sometimes even the professional stylists, if I don’t warn them ahead of time.

  • Reply Teh Megan June 24, 2015 at 11:07 am

I would have totally just left the house in it’s current state. I’m all the lazy (and most of the clutter in my house is Mr. Scrooge’s).
Yurtle needs to be washed in a way I can’t use words to describe. There were some henius bug guts on it so bad that it looked like I had been in an accident (which was observed on 2 separate occasions) that I ended up scrubbing it off with a wet towel.. but only that spot. So now Yurtle is spotty. Maybe the dealership will give her a bath when I take her in for maintenance on Friday?? #pleaseGodplease #savemefromthisplight

I’m a total dunce with my hair (and makeup) as well, I try and fail almost every single time. It’s either blown out and down or up in a basic ponytail 😛

  • Reply Morgan June 24, 2015 at 12:20 pm

I can’t even tell you when the last time I washed my car was. It’s SO bad!! haha

  • Reply Mattie June 24, 2015 at 12:38 pm

Yes to fake creamer! I don’t care that it’s a bunch of chemicals, they are TASTY chemicals!

  • Reply Mia @ MakeMeUpMia June 24, 2015 at 12:44 pm

I’m right there with ya on the creamer thing girl. I tried everything to kick my creamer habit. I did fine for a while but I’m back to regular creamer. However, I’m only drinking coffee about 3 times a week now and I started just using flavored coffees, so I can easily get by with 1-2 servings of creamer now. Before I’d use a ton of creamer. I’m calling it good, if I’m having a cup of coffee I want to truly enjoy it 😉 I did see someone post a pic this morning on Insta, they said they use a little creamer mixed with almond milk. I’m going to try that and see how it tastes.

  • Reply Amanda Elizabeth June 24, 2015 at 1:11 pm

Oh girl you wait till the last minute that would stress me out! I’m an almond milk kinda gal as well but sometimes you just need the sugar in the morning right 😉

Weird about the curlers, because my wand (Remington Pearl, seriously like $25 at Target and the best curling tool I’ve ever owned) makes my curls last for literally days. With any curling iron I’ve ever used, my curls drop before the night is over. Weird that the opposite is happening with you!
And since my first audiobook I’ve been liking them a lot more than I thought I would too. So glad my library has tons of audiobooks available. It’s a great option to have!

I can’t fix my hair either, as you know. I bought the Beachwaver but think I like Hot Tools curling irons better- plus they’re like 1/3 the price. I started spraying a Paul Mitchell heat spray on before curling and it has helped a lot… But the humidity kills me. I use coconut milk creamer but have to have the “good” stuff a few times a week- it tastes much better!

  • Reply Heather @ My Little HEA June 24, 2015 at 1:57 pm

I figured out how to curl my hair with a flat iron but IDK what I’ll do when it gets longer. Mine rarely holds it with a regular curling iron. I think the flat iron works because it’s heating from both sides? *shrug* I so need to wash, vacuum and organize the crap out of my car. It’s a must this weekend. I do EVERYTHING last minute because I am better under pressure. Papers in college were written the day of. It’s just how I roll.

  • Reply Nadine June 24, 2015 at 1:58 pm

Totally agree with the packing! I cannot pack the night before going somewhere. It’s like my mind focuses better when I am packing at the last minute! And I wish I could experience Alabama heat. Minnesota never, ever gets warm enough for my taste!

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis June 24, 2015 at 2:19 pm

#1 is definitely something I do or else I take my cool sweet time and wait until last minute. lol Ugh yes car needs to be washed too!

  • Reply Julia @ Grace Makes New June 24, 2015 at 2:50 pm

hahaha I can clean the house so fast if people say they’re coming over, even if it’s just to drop by for a few minutes I’m like “MUST CLEAN”! And then I act all calm when they get there like “Oh this? My house always looks like this!” 😀 I suck at hair too! And yes to the humidity ecard, so true!

  • Reply Erin LFF June 24, 2015 at 3:02 pm

Our house is never cleaner than when my in-laws are coming to visit, haha! I’m not that great at hair either, but I’ve found my curls hold better if I wash my hair and skip the conditioner before styling. Also, people swear by ‘aquage’ products- but I think you can only get them in certain salons.

  • Reply kathy @ real talk June 24, 2015 at 3:04 pm

i have flavoured creamer in my coffee every morning because delicious.

i have teflon hair and the only thing that keeps a curl is when i use my curling wand because it heats up to like 500C and singes my hair in a curl LOL.

Some days I’m so good about drinking the free black coffee in the office (I prefer it black usually) but some days just require an iced coffee from a shop. With caramel flavoring 🙂

I always pack a few days before the trip, then unpack and re-pack a good 4-5 times before we leave. It’s the one thing I can think of that I really have OCD about. I’m always afraid if I pack once, I surely will forget something. But anxiety will not allow me to test this theory.

I finally vacuumed my car this past weekend! Give me all the fans, it’s too hot!

i;m over the weather already and it’s only june. august is the worst for me heat-wise. what curling wand do you have?do you have fine hair? what are you using now to hold the curl?

  • Reply Duckie June 26, 2015 at 12:17 am

Omg I was sitting in my living room last night with window, front and back doors open, ceiling fan and standing fan both on and I was still sweating. My shirt was soaked by the time I decided to call it a night. And I am an excellent housekeeper when it comes down to the last minute! Hahaha.

Btw, I suck at hair too. Like super suck. I don’t even own a curling iron or straightener anymore because I threw them away out of frustration. I do, however, own a pack of curlformers and have used those on my daughters’ hair. I just put it in their hair before bed, take it out in the morning and spray it all with hairspray. The cheap hairspray, because I suck at hair and don’t know the difference as long as it says “extreme hold”. It does the job and the girls get cute curls all day and no traumatic curling iron burn stories.

lol some days you need the good shit!
i used to suck at hair too. i suck at hair products, my best friend can use something on my hair and it’ll be amazing and 2 seconds later i’ll use it and it’ll be an oily gross mess. i give up on products. i use a cheapy curling iron from target (con air?) but hot tools is a good brand. the only way to get better is practice, i promise i used to suck so so bad at it.. but i got better. i’ll never be great but it’ll do! lol.
    yay audiobooks!
