Secret Outlast Clear Gel Review

The next product I want to share from my Influenster Spring Vox Box is Secret Outlast Clear Gel.  Secret is no stranger to me, I have been using their products on and off for years! The clear gel is my go to summer product when it comes to deodorant. I love the scents, the way the gel rolls on, the odor protection it provides, and best of all….no white marks!!! There is nothing worse than white marks all over your favorite summer dress, am I right?

I received the completely clean scent, which I hadn’t tried before. (Usually I am a powder or lavender girl.)  The scent is exactly what it says, clean! I love it! I was so excited to receive this product because I already knew I was in love with it! This size is great for tossing in my purse or beach bag, and it will be getting a lot of use this summer.

Some people are skeptical of the gel deodorants, but I really think you would like this one. I have tried a few other brands out there, but I always come back to Secret.

Some information about the product: Outlast is better on delivering no white marks than the next leading invisible solid and provides 48 hour odor and wetness protection; why pay more? You can find it for $4.59 at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.
Check out the “Deo Dance,” something I know we can all relate to!
I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!

Sooooo…..I have a confession to make today. I am late to the party, by about 10 years, but I say better late than never. Am I right?

I downloaded the first Harry Potter book to my iPad this weekend via the Kindle app. Everyone and their mom has read this book and/or seen the movies. I have done no such thing. Yeah you read correctly, I have not read any of the books or have seen any of the movies. I have been thinking about starting the series for years, just never really got around to it. I was all like “I am too cool for Harry Potter” “I’m no “pothead” “I’m not going to like these books, little kids read these books” Yeah….that was my thoughts about it.

I can admit when I am wrong, and gosh darn I was. I have read over half of the first book in like a half of a day. I couldn’t put the stupid thing down. The imagination in this book is just crazy off the charts and I love it! I want my own owl and to attend Hogwarts damnit! Why have I not read these before now?

I look at it this way….I have 7 more books and 8 movies to fill up my summer time with. Awesome, yes me thinks so! Chris even said that after I finish each book, he wants to watch the movie with me. (He hasn’t seen them either.)

And to think I have been living my life as a Muggle.

That is all…

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure Review

I want to share with you a product that I received in my Influenster Spring Vox Box, the Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure!

I am going to disclose that I was both excited and nervous when I received this product. I have NEVER had fake nails in my life, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. For some reason I have always been afraid to get fake nails because I don’t want to ruin my real nails.

I did a little research on the company, and liked what I saw. Salon manicure in seconds – NO glue – No drying time – Rivals the best gel polish – Won’t damage nails – Easy removal – Lasts up to a week. You can find your very own for $5.99 for colors $7.99 for patterns at CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, KMart, Walgreens, Walmart, and more. You can check out their products online as well at http://impressmanicure.com/.
Check out my nails!

My opinion: Like I said before, I was nervous to try them because I didn’t want to ruin my own nails. It was silly to even think that! They were very easy to put on, and they matched up perfectly with the shape of my nails once I took a few minutes to match them up with each nail. You definitely want to have them sized before you start putting them on, it will make things a lot easier! There were plenty left over in case you messed one up or lost one. I probably have enough to do another set or have an “accent nail” if I wanted.

Once they were on, I didn’t really notice they were there…until I ran my fingers through my hair. Every time I ran my fingers through my hair, my hair got stuck under the nail and I would have to sit there and work it out. My husband laughed at me the time he caught me doing it. That was the only issue I had with them. I would have loved to have them for my toes!!! I don’t keep my nails long because I do ridiculous amounts of typing for my job, so having them on during the work week wouldn’t be something for me. I only kept them on for a weekend, though they say they would last up to a week and I truly believe they would. I washed dishes and washed my hands tons of times through out the day with no problems.

Taking them off was not an issue either. I was really nervous to take them off because I didn’t want it to hurt, and I didn’t want to see my nails ruined underneath. No problems taking them off at all. I took some nail polish remover and just dabbed around the edge and peeled them right off. There was no damage to my real nails at all.

Overall, I would probably buy these if I had an event or something to attend and wanted pretty nails for a night. They aren’t practical for me with my job during the week and I didn’t like that they kept getting stuck in my hair….but I checked out their website and it appears they have pedicure press-ons too! I would love to try those out and might seek them soon.

Weekend Shenanigans-A Tale of the Lost Weekend

Sami's Shenanigans
Well hello there, Monday. You seemed to have snuck up on my this weekend. I am really confused as to where my weekend went…shall we take a look?
Friday – Friday was an interesting day. I turned in my two week notice at work, after having 587 panic attacks before 10:30 am. Met up with my friends Amanda and Amanda (that’s right, there are two of them) for lunch at Zoes, love them! Finished out my work day, and then headed home. Chris and I had to make two appearances Friday night. The first was a going away party for our friend Adam. He accepted a job in St Louis and left us this weekend. So sad! We had some Fox’s pizza with him and played some games. Good times. I love Fox’s pizza because they are from PA and know what’s up in the pizza department. Not quite as good as all the pizza places up there…but close enough!
Afterwards we headed back to our house, and walked across the street to the neighborhood bon fire and chilled with out neighbors for a little bit. We couldn’t hang too long…Chris and I were exhausted!
Saturday – I would like another run at Saturday, I am not sure where it went? We woke up and I cleaned the house. Chris had to run some errands with his dad and was gone a few hours so when I was done cleaning I just hung around the house for a little bit. I spent most of my times watching the dogs’
shenanigans from the window. I seriously can spend all my time watching them run around with their doggie adventures in the back yard!

When Chris got home, we had a fun lunch that consisted of Morning Star Veggis Corn Dogs and froze Zesty Fries. Yum.

Chris had to work on a computer for a little while for someone, and then we headed to Billy’s to grab a drink and some dinner. I love going to Billy’s. The bartender there knows what we drink and our food order….is that a good thing or a sign that we have a problem? Either way, we must be “regulars.” We achieved something in life haha.
Sunday – Sunday was the day of laundry, some more cleaning and running around. I did our meal planning, went to JCPenney and the grocery store. Rushed home to meet up with Chris so we could get him a new phone, went to Best Buy, Hallmark, stopped by his parents house to drop off his mom’s new laptop, and before we knew it…it was 7:00 pm and we were ordering Chinese food because someone we didn’t have time to eat lunch and it was too late to start getting dinner ready.
On a side note, have you been to JCPenney lately? I used to love them, and then they changed their store and the way they priced stuff and I quit shopping there because I didn’t really like it anymore. Well I happened to stop in there on Memorial Day to look around, and I fell in love with a A.N.A. dress for $15! (And that was full price people!!!) They had a few other cute things, and they completely changed their home store. I was very impressed with how the home store items were laid out. It was sort of sectioned off into types of items and the style of the decor. It was very enjoyable to shop through and they just gained me back as a customer for sure! If you wrote them off before…go check them out again. I think you might like it! (Assuming that your store has been redone.)
And that was my weekend. I am not quite sure where all my time went, as I feel I didn’t get much accomplished but there is just 5 days left to the next weekend! Let’s tackle this week!

Friday Five

the Sowell life
It’s Friday!!! Isn’t it weird how the short weeks always feel like the longest? Crazy!

I have been doing themes lately while linking up with Joy for the Friday Five, and today will be no different! Today’s theme is quite interesting: “5 ways to NOT give your two week notice”

1. Not give a two week. – This place offered you employment, money, hopefully insurance…no matter how bad it sucks, give them a two week notice and karma will be nice to you.

2. Don’t turn in something like this:

Try and remain professional!
wearing this wouldn’t be appropriate either..

3. Highlighting on your calendar (or at least your work calendar…go crazy on your calendar at home!

This might come off a little tacky, and you want to stay classy!

4. Leave behind a sticky note

A typed formal notice with your signature is best!

5. Start out like your are ending an intimate relationship

Duh, it’s them…otherwise you wouldn’t be leaving! (Unless you are being underpaid!)

My final peace of advice? Leave on a positive note!

Just hope this isn’t waiting for you on your last day!

PS: I turned in my two week notice at work today. While I am sad to be closing this chapter in my life and leaving some of my co-workers, I am excited for what lies ahead in my new opportunity that I have been offered! Now, to get through my last 2 weeks…
