about me, currently

What’s New Currently

Whenever I link up with Kristen and Gretchen I always feel weird because most people use this as a way to sum up their previous month. For me, I share most of that stuff in my Weekend Shenanigans posts and you don’t really want to see all of that again! So I like to use this post in a currently format to share what I am up to now!

Reading: I started Sunset in Central Park on Tuesday. I hope to have this done by the book link up next week!

Sunset in Central Park (From Manhattan with Love, #2)

Listening: Other than listening to Truly Madly Guilty via audio book, I have been catching up with the Pregnancy Podcast. If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, this is a great resource for you!!! Especially as a first time mom. The host basically does all the research for you on everything you want to know about pregnancy, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, different complications and procedures and everything else you can think of. She also has a podcast called 40 Weeks that goes over each week of pregnancy in five minutes or less. I can not be more grateful to have this!

Planning: Other than nursery and baby related things, I really just want to organize our whole house. Nesting has taken full swing over here. Some of our kitchen cabinets are driving me crazy and there are more clothes that I haven’t worn in years I know I can purge. I want to re-organize my make up, lotions and potions and jewelry which in my head requires a new piece of furniture for our bathroom in this awkward empty space we have. And the spare room where Mac stays when we aren’t home? Don’t even get me startedΒ  with that space! Let’s just say it has become clutter central since clearing out space for the baby!

Watching: I have seen five or six seasons of Weeds when it aired way back when. Chris had started watching some of it but I don’t think he ever got out of the first season? Either way, we started watching it Wednesday night from the beginning. Also still squeezing in some One Tree Hill.

Funny story, we watched like half the first episode of Stranger Things and I am too chicken shit for it and Chris shut it off. Scary/thriller type stuff just isn’t my jam.

Pinning: Baby stuff, duh!!! The closet below with the cube shelf along the bottom?? Freaking brilliant idea and I am totally stealing that!!! And the gold glitter dipped feathers??? Stop!

Like spindal bookshelve. Headboard also available. Could repaint to look more high-end. Reviews say heavy and sturdy for the $$.:

Excited: A new hot dog place, Hot Diggity Dog, has opened this week and I can’t wait to try it for lunch! Also, a friend of mine is getting us in to a restaurant tasting this weekend with another new place in town! I love trying out new places!

What have you been up to lately?

hehe, I have that little giraffe with a party hat for Sheffield. I freaking love all that organization in that closet — unfortunately my lack of organizational skills spilled over into Sheffield’s closet, so his pretty much looks like his mama’s — which is a disaster. I wish I would have known about that podcast when I was preggers!

Oh how I love a good hot dog. We have a cart guy and it’s called the wiener shack and he catered my husband’s 40th birthday party and they are the best! I absolutely loved One Tree Hill!! I might have to start watching it again. We are now finishing Billions that first premiered this year. That baby closet is amazing!!!

I started Weeds and never finished it. Add it to the list! I am terrible at keeping up with shows. LOVE all the pink and gold. That is totally in my wheel house!

I hate scary things, and I am not super scared of Stranger Things!

Those baby glitter wings!! I need to remember that for photo sessions!

Ryan and I are watching Stranger Things! I was reluctant to start it because it looked like it would be all thriller/scary, but I feel like it’s mostly sci-fi mystery and I was surprised how invested in the show I’ve gotten. That closet is gorgeous and I LOVE cube organizers. Ryan and I each have one in our closet. The podcast sounds awesome. I’m reading What to Expect When You’re Expecting and it’s soooo verbose. I get that they’re trying to cover every possible problem/symptom/etc, but most of it doesn’t apply to me so I do a lot of skimming.

I tried Weeds and didn’t get into it! For some reason, it made me too uneasy (maybe bc there were kids involved? But Breaking Bad was way more intense and I loved that. So weird.). Stranger Things is totally on my list. And I’m not nesting, but organizing has been at the top of my list lately, too. Once you start you want to make everything pretty I guess!

    I did a currently post, too πŸ™‚

I love that little elephant! (and giraffe!) Such cute baby things! We’ve never watched Weeds but I love that actress in The West Wing! πŸ™‚

Omg, white, gold and pink nursery stuff?! Ahhh decorating a girl’s nursery would be SO. FUN. I’ve been wanting to rewatch Weeds, I’ve only watched it once and it was a long time ago! Also, Stranger Things is scary??? I’m really curious about it because of all the hype, and I love me some thrillers so I might have to try it!

All of the baby stuff is just so awesome. I love the feathers!!! I crave a good hot dog and I just so happen to have some so thanks for giving me a great lunch idea!!!

  • Reply Amy August 4, 2016 at 1:31 pm

I’m with you – scary is NOT my thing. I don’t even watch the news because it’s all tragic.

hey the rules are there are no rules, you could share whatever the heck you wanted and i’d be happy you decided to share it with us πŸ˜€
that book looks super cute, and i will have to remember the pregnancy podcast.
stranger things wasn’t bad! i am not good with scary and it wasn’t that scary at all. the first few episodes were scary because you didn’t know what was going on. i mean i did jump a few times lol but i think PLL is jumpier!! i’m always afraid someone’s gonna get hit by a car or jump out and stab you with that show lol
that closet with the cube shelving is brilliant. our guest room, where our child will go if we one day have a child in this house lol, the closet is really weird and stupid and meant for an adult, not a child, so i would have to take out the shelves to do something like that. looks so smart especially because baby/kid stuff is so little but takes up so much space lol

I finished Stranger Things and it’s more mystery than scary, but I also like creepy things. The bins in the closet are a great idea. We are going with a dresser since it will have to go in our living room for now, but if we had the room we would maybe do bins.

Oh you should ALWAYS make some time for One Tree Hill! πŸ™‚

  • Reply Dani August 4, 2016 at 2:37 pm

Your nursery is going to be the shit. Love all of those pinned ideas! I feel like everyone is watching Stranger Things and though I’m not a fan of scary I feel like I need to check it out. Weeds was recommended to me too, so maybe I’ll try that one first! I love trying out new restaurants too, and I’d have to try that hot dog place just for the name alone haha!

So I think that I have another 6 hours to go on Audible for Truly Madly Guilty, and I’m really loving it so far. What do you think of it now? Have you been able to nail down the time travel part of it so far? And I totally would be pinning all the baby stuff too! I was always thankful that I didn’t get married during the heyday of Pinterest because I know that I would have been overwhelmed, but it just might happen when we decide to start a family!

  • Reply Jessica @ Pleas(e) & Carrots August 4, 2016 at 3:51 pm

I love all the stuff you pinned, I swear if I was having a baby that’d be the same exact stuff I would pin!

  • Reply alyssa August 4, 2016 at 3:56 pm

I watched Weeds way back in the day but stopped after I think season 5. The first few were so great though, I think I’m due for a whole series binge one of these days!

  • Reply mandie August 4, 2016 at 4:49 pm

I totally need to check out Stranger Things. I am really intrigued by what it’s all about.

  • Reply Lindsay August 4, 2016 at 5:57 pm

I’m glad you said that about Stranger Things because I’m also a chicken shit and know I won’t be able to watch it! I’m loving all the sweet baby things – my sister did the cube thing in my niece’s closet and it helped so much!

  • Reply Michael August 4, 2016 at 7:20 pm

I quit Weeds when it got weird. So maybe around season 5? Celia was playing both sides, the grandmother or whoever died? They were running from the husband? IDK.. it was just too much to keep track of. Sometimes a good hotdog makes everything right!

  • Reply Louann Kristy August 7, 2016 at 11:01 pm

This is the 2nd blog tonight I read that mentioned Stranger Things… I’m wondering if I am the only one who hasn’t watched it yet.

Ah! So many cute baby pins! I can’t wait to see your nursery once you get it all set up! πŸ™‚
