Weekend Shenanigans – The One I Got Crafty & TBB ASKS

So who else wishes the halftime show never ended?!?! Gosh I love Justin Timberlake!!!! I am also thrilled that the Eagles beat the cheaters!!!! The only commercial that was memorable for me was the M&M commercial with the lucky penny. I found myself not even paying attention to them after awhile. They all kind of sucked. What was your favorite? Maybe I missed it and need to go watch it on YouTube.

Anyways, this weekend was pretty fun! I kicked off Friday with a Butterscotch Frappucino from Starbucks. My all time favorite drink! I am only allowing myself one of those suckers because it is like 61 grams of sugar or something insane. It was delicious and totally worth it. For lunch, I headed to Whole Foods and grabbed some Spicy Midnight Tuna. Sooooooo good!

We had some Italian Chicken Sausage with peppers, onions and potatoes for dinner that evening. Keeping it healthy.

Saturday we were up and out early to meet with with Laura and her boys at Target! We had to buy a new vacuum cleaner and clearly some wine was needed for the day! After that, Chris and B left us with the kiddos and we went to Home Depots and Michaels to gather all the supplies for our crafting day. I am proud to say that we found everything on our own in Home Depot and we managed to run through all the stores with only one minor breakdown from Zoe. She was upset that I took a piece of trash out of her hand that she picked up in line at Target. Gotta love that. How adorable are these two?

That last picture is Zoe walking around her grandparents house yesterday looking for her Memom who wasn’t home.

When we got back to my house, we got the kids fed and down for their naps. We immediately poured glasses of wine to reward ourselves for a mom win…and then set out to bake the cookies and make our marble trays! The kiddos decorated the cookies after they woke up from their nap. We made Valentine’s Day cookies and Mardi Gras ones! I think they turned out so good, and so did the trays!

We had a lot of fun crafting while listening to the 90’s pop station. That night for dinner, Chris picked up food from Landmark. I had a delicious burger, half an order of fries and I stole one of Chris’s chicken tenders. Everything was so good! As always.

Sunday we got our grocery shopping done, dropped off the computer Chris built for his dad and got home just in time for the Super Bowl. I made zucchini pizza bites for Chris, and I just snacked on some chips and salsa.

I almost forgot I already had the TBB Asks in my drafts for today. This is why keeping up with a planner would come in handy for me!

1. Kisses or Hugs?
I am a hugger.
2. Candy or Flowers?
Candy
3. Baking or Cooking?
I rarely bake at home because I don’t want the temptation all over the house. I cook at least 5-6 days per week. But I think baking is more fun!
4. Do you remember your first kiss?
Yes. It was with a boy named Mike the summer after my senior year of high school. This boy Kyle kissed me on the bus my last day of 8th grade, but I didn’t kiss him back. So it didn’t count, right?
5. Favorite color of Roses?
Pink
6. Conversation Hearts, yes or no?
YES!!! Most years I usually get one tiny box to treat myself.
7. Do you leave love notes?
I used to leave random notes in Chris’s lunch box.
8. Do you decorate for Valentineโ€™s Day?
Some years I might stick out a little thing or two. This year we dont have anything out. I think started next year, I will decorate for more of the smaller holidays to make them fun for Zoe.
9. Red or Pink?
Pink
10. Milk, White or Dark Chocolate?
Milk and white chocolate are my favorite. I only like dark chocolate if it is filled with caramel. And even then, I prefer milk chocolate.
11. ย Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not exactly. I believe in lust at first sight.
12. Do you give Humorous or Serious Valentine Cards?
To Chris, serious. To a gal pal or friend, humorous.
13. Favorite Chick Flick or Romantic Movie?
Hmm this is hard because romantic comedies are my favorite kind of movie! I really like Crazy Stupid Love, Friends With Benefits, Just Go With It, The Sweetest Thing, Ten Things I Hate About You, Drive Me Crazy…the list goes on and on and on!
14. Stay In or Go Out?
Stay in. I hate going out for Valentine’s Day. It is always so crowded and impersonal. And way over priced. I have made lasagna every year we have been together for Valentine’s Day.

We had a lot of fun this weekend! Cant believe the first one for February is already in the books. Valentine’s Day is next week! Crazy! Linking up with Biana. I hope you all had a great weekend!

I love that you have the tradition of staying in and having lasagna on Valentine’s Day. Traditions are so much fun, and the comfort of home is so much better in my opinion than sharing the holiday with a bunch of strangers in a loud, crowded restaurant! Wishing you and yours a very Happy Valentine’s Day ahead!

Your tray (and cookies) turned out great! Glad you had a fun crafting weekend with wine. ๐Ÿ™‚ Those are the best. I love seeing everyones answers for the link-up! We do not go out for Valentine’s Day, either… I prefer staying home because it’s too busy everywhere!

Look at those cookies! Sooo cute! Loved reading your answers of course and I imagine your and Mr. Chris have a pretty sweet night in and even better with your lil Valentine around. I was disappointed in the commercials but what a good game and JT! Must see in concert! Have a super sweet Monday!

Milk chocolate over dark chocolate always and forever! Dark chocolate is just too bitter.

I’m shocked at all the hate in Justin. I thought he was amazing. People just want to hate on every single thing now. Lived his tribute to Prince.

I’m just going to let that little cheaters line slide LOL! I loved the NFL commercial with dirty dancing – it was hilarious! The cookie baking looked like so much fun! Glad you had a nice weekend! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

Yes, you can’t fall in love at first sigh, you don’t know them, it is lust. I loved JT!! My favorite was the Eli and Odell Beckham dirty dancing one. They both went to the same high school here which I love!

hahah those cheaters. I’m from Boston and totally agree. Not a football fan and certainly not a Pats fan. Can’t stand them. Plus the team owner is not a nice person AT ALL. I feel bad that all my friends are so sad but hey that’s life. It’s just a game but..they take it to whole other level.

Awww poor Zoe with her piece of trash in the Target line, they just don’t understand all the yuck! And yessss to wishing the halftime show never ended, and yay for the Pats not winning yet again. I loved the M&M commercial too, and got a kick out of the Tide commercials with “Chief Hopper” ๐Ÿ™‚

Your weekend sounds fabulous, and your cookies and trays turned out so good! Itโ€™s seriously so funny how similar our answers turned out on the love at first sight question! And oh my goodness I could watch 10 Things I Hate About You over and over again and still love it, which is probably why I can quote the whole movie!

The marble trays turned out really well & the cookies are super cute!
Going out for Valentine’s Day is the worst – I can’t believe anyone still does it. SO overpriced! Lasagna is a fun tradition.

and now I want lasagna! Was so much fun hanging with you guys – we definitely need to make that a monthly happening! Dark chocolate is gross, and I will only eat it as a last resort – like if I don’t have a piece of chocolate right now, I’m going to die and all there is is this gross piece of dark chocolate.

10 Things I Hate About You used to be my all time favorite movie. I loved the NFL Giants/Dirty Dancing commercial.

Zoe looks so big sitting in the shopping cart! Glad you guys had a successful shopping trip, and your crafts & cookies looks like it was so much fun. I was really underwhelmed by the commercials during the game this year too. I love candy hearts & basically any Valentine’s Day candy. Since being pregnant I looove dark chocolate and I never cared for it before, so I’m wondering if my taste will change again. I love your tradition of lasagna on Valentine’s Day! That’s on my list of things I want to make to freeze in the next couple of weeks.

Did you see the Dirty Dancing commercial?

Love the trays! Good work ladies!

Girl..I’m choosing to let that line about cheaters slide ๐Ÿ˜‰ #patsfanforlife haha but seriously though check out the doritos & mountain dew commercial – it was one of my faves! Most of the rest were kinda lackluster to me and I think some brands were literally just desperate for attention. Like some of the commercials were completely irrelevant to the brand. Glad you all had a blast making cookies- they look yummy!

  • Reply Emelia February 5, 2018 at 9:43 pm

I love Love love that big tray! Such a good idea to pour some wine and get crafting. The pics of you and Zoe decorating cookies are precious. We love chicken sausage too- need to try it with peppers sometime!

  • Reply Kristin February 5, 2018 at 10:19 pm

I like animal commercials. There was a dog one at the beginning…US Bank, I think? A few made me chuckle, but nothing amazing.

  • Reply ShootingStarsMag February 6, 2018 at 8:24 am

What a fun weekend you had! Love the cookies – I’m sure the kids had fun decorating. And I LOVE that tray you made. It turned out great.

I didn’t pay attention to all the super bowl commercials but I liked the Doritos/Mountain Dew one with the raps. That was kind of amusing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Mmm…chocolate. Yes, give me chocolate any day. I actually really like any type of chocolate though I don’t eat white chocolate all that often.

Romantic Comedies are great – ahh!! 10 Things I Hate About You. I love it. I haven’t seen it in forever though.

I love the TBB questionnaire, how fun! Omg…I love me some tuna rolls. I can eat Tuna raw, cooked, grilled. It’s my fav! The cookies turned out so cute. I was so glad that the Eagles beat the Patriots. Finally, someone else wins! They deserved it. It’s been a year of really close last minute game deciding plays to see who wins or loses. My heart can’t take anymore!! Lol.

Butterscotch Frappe – whaaaaaaat?! I must try that, it sounds amazing.

As for the Superbowl commercials, I did enjoy the Tide ones, they made me giggle. ๐Ÿ™‚

YaY for an Eagles win! I was so unimpressed with the commercials this year. I also liked the M&M one and the only others were the Doritos and the Mountain Dew for me.

My H was not impressed that his team lost (oh well) but the Brady memes on the internet are gold haha! good work for the Eagles; some of their plays were amazing.

i LOVE that Z and S are hanging out!

That burger looks really good. I saw the sushi on your IG and have been looking at my WF for it ever since. I have been twice now and I want to try it out!

I love your weekend activities- especially the cookies and wine. That sushi looks delicious and I totally remember my first kiss. Hahahaha. It was actually a good one!
