weekend shenanigans

Weekend Shenanigans

Here we are, half past June like whoa. It was a HOT one down in the south this weekend. Temps hovered in the low 90’s. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, we did 🙂

Friday started off on a sad note, as I said goodbye to a dear friend of mine who is moving to Texas. We had to selfie after our last lunch date.

Friday night, Chris and I ordered some BBQ from Landmark and watched some reruns of Modern Family. It was a nice, chill evening.

Saturday morning was full of cutting the back yard. It was SO freaking hot outside at 8 am. I am convinced that grass cutting in those temperatures has to be the best cardio. Ever. After my manual labor, we headed out for a day of fun! We met up with some friends for lunch and then headed to Steel City Pops afterwards because, why not?!

We then discovered that they have never been to World of Beer. How could that be? So we decided to introduce them to the awesomeness. I enjoyed an adult “cloudy” lemonade and a grapefruit shandy. There may have been some grains in my wheat shandy, oops. YOLO?

We need to find those Crabbies Cloudy Lemonades for the beach!!! They were so good and refreshing!!!

After we split with our friends, we headed over to What’s on 2nd to check out their goods, then headed home. Since I did have a wheat beer for lunch, I ordered a salad for dinner while Chris had pizza. Keeping myself in check 🙂

Sunday morning I hit the grocery store early. When I got back, we headed over to Chris’s parents house for a little bit and then out to lunch at Munoz. When we got back, I food prepped for breakfast and lunches for the week….then we got lost in the black hole of binge watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. So good!!!!

In books -I finished Bittersweet this weekend, and started on LA Candy. Bittersweet’s review will be up at some point this week. I am really excited to *hopefully* join along in the Literary Ladies book club with Kristen, Kay and Kari. I have never participated in one before.

I have two more full weeks of work before some vacation time, so obviously these are going to be the longest weeks ever. Here’s to kicking some ass this Monday! Have a great week!

Mmmmm, Steel City Pops. Which kind did you get? B and I tried out Magic City Sweet Ice this weekend, and it was amazing. You NEED to go. I’m still in awe at your will power to turn down pizza. 🙂

Ugh it was so hot here, too! I’m certain yard work in the heat burns more calories than any other exercise! We loved Kimmie Schmidt! I cannot wait for the second season! Happy Monday!

It was so hot here this weekend. I didn’t think I was going to make it. The humidity just kills me. So jealous of your upcoming vacation time! I hope the next two weeks fly by for ya.

I had more alcohol this past weekend than I’d had in a long time. My friend makes a delicious margarita using Rita’s water ice, and after tasting it, it was too hard to turn down. So I had a yolo day, too. But on the plus side, I’m getting so much better at allowing exceptions without saying, “Well, it’s all over now because I messed up once.” It’s the long run that matters!

the weather blew chucks this weekend. seems canada forgot the definition of what Summer is supposed to mean and has it confused with fall – as in it RAINED and was COLD all freaking weekend.

hope these 2 weeks fly by for you!!

I can’t think of a more intense workout than doing yard work in 90 degree heat, but at least now it’s done and you can enjoy your yard! I need to find that lemonade. I made my own this weekend with vodka and raspberry lemonade, but that was sounds refreshing too. Hope the next two weeks go quickly!

I am already sick of the heat and humidity. 90 and a billion percent humidity. Stop it!

I know you are definitely looking forward to vacation – it’s the best time! I’m thinking that hard lemonade (beer?) is sounding pretty good right now! Happy Monday! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

Yayyyy for World of Beer… always a good time! You’re going to love the LA Candy series if you ever watched The Hills, it’s a great inside look as to what it was like filming a “reality show”. It’s basically what it was really like, but with fictional characters and situations 😉

Seriously- mowing in humidity is DEFINITELY a cardio workout. With all the digging, mulching and edging I did over the weekend- I think it counts as my upper body workout- lol, I was almost sore!! 😉 Weeks before vacation always go slow- hopefully they don’t for you!!!

Loved Kimmy Schmidt!!! We fell down the OITNB rabbit hole until the power went out on Sunday night and now we still have 5 episodes left. Which is good and bad.

Glad you had a great weekend. Boo to your friend moving. I’m going to try to participate in that book club as well. We’ll see how it actually goes.

I swear the humidity in Chicago is KILLING ME. As if marathon training isn’t enough, let’s just through the thickest air into the mix. Oh and rain. All the time. Way to keep yourself in check girl! I say this as I posted about eating a helmet full of nachos. Sigh. Hahaha.

  • Reply Pamela June 15, 2015 at 5:01 pm

Girl, I feel you on the heat. It is SO hot here already, although we had a breeze this weekend so it wasnt overly unbearable. That grapefruit beer is seriously one of my favs too!!

  • Reply Lindsay T. June 15, 2015 at 5:20 pm

wait grapefruit summer shandy ? I need that!!!

    That cloudy lemonade sounds delicious!

  • Reply Duckie June 18, 2015 at 9:21 pm

That lemonade drink looks delicious! And kudos to you for having a salad instead of pizza. I mean, I would probably never have the willpower to do that unless it was a pizza salad. Haha!
