Tea For Thoughts

My mind is still a little scattered as I try to get back in to adulting after vacation. Fun times, fun times.

–Speaking of fun times, I feel like there are never enough hours in the day to get all my reading in!!! I just keep adding more and more books to my to-read list. I downloaded a few to my iPad yesterday that were free through this deal site my SIL introduced me to. My first thought was….how am I going to fit all these in along with my summer reading challenge list? I am sure I will!

–Getting back in to the swing of things also means getting back to stricter eating and working out again. My lower back is still a little sore, so I have been going easy this week with two runs and some lighter lifting. Next week I hope to be back to full force!!!

–The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open today for debit and credit card holders. Oh, how there are so many pretty things that I want!!! Kate Spade has a super cute purse marked down, the Michael Kors sandals I have been swooning over all summer are under $100 right now and I have seen so many people boast about the Zella active line and I would love to try a pair of their leggings. Not good for the wallet folks, not good at all. I am going to try to avoid stalking the sale at all costs.

–My week day routine at work always consists of at least one to two cups of tea per day. I love the many benefits of tea including antioxidants, free radicals, metabolism boosting properties, stress relief, and well if I am being honest…it keeps me from wanting snacks during the day. I consider tea my “snack time.” I usually grab a cup around 10:30 am when I start thinking about lunch, and then again around 2:30-3:00 pm to break up my afternoon and have a little pick me up.

One day, I was scrolling through my Twitter account and I saw Tea Drift. I realized they were a new company so I went to check out their site. They carry an expansive line of loose leaf teas for a great price! One of my hesitations when I go to the store, is that the loose leaf teas are $10-$20 for a whole lot of one flavor. I like to switch it up all the time so I don’t get burnt out, you know?

I sort of jokingly tweeted at them that I would blog for tea and well….I received this in the mail a few short days later!

You guys, they have certainly found a new customer in me!! These flavors they sent me were absolutely amazing. What I liked most, is that they have tea bags for purchase so you don’t have all this loose tea floating around in your water. Because let’s be honest…a lot of the stainless steel strainer looking tea items leave behind a lot of floaters. With this, you just scoop a tablespoon or two of the tea into a bag and let it seep in hot water for 3-7 minutes.

Their website is awesome because if you click on a particular tea, it gives you all the benefits of that specific one. You can certainly sell me on benefits!

Right now, Tea Drift is offering a free sample with any order over $10. Their tea of the month is Chocolate Mint, which is 25% off. I have never had chocolate mint tea and I am so intrigued! If you are a tea drinker, I highly encourage you to check them out.

I did receive a free sample of tea, but this is my honest opinion.

You guys know I don’t talk about stuff that I do not believe in!

Chocolate mint is my most favorite flavor — I’m going to have to try that tea out! Ugh — all the books! So many books!! I think you still should get those sandals — I mean, you have been talking about them forever.

I’ve been trying to drink more hot tea lately and I’m really enjoying it (although I do still want my coffee too!) The chocolate mint sounds so good, that’s my all time fav flavor! I cannot even look at the Nordstrom sale or it will be very bad, haha!

I’ve been working my way through a bag of mint tea that I bought on Amazon. $17 and it’s gigantic.

I’m forcing myself to read two books a week. I read before bed for like an hour and sometimes during the day (granted I’m on summer break). I’ll set a timer for 30 minutes and read until it goes off. It’s a good way to get into a book and then usually I want to continue after the 30 minutes.

I find Target leggings more comfortable than Zella leggings! About $40 cheaper too. LOL

I will be perusing the Nordstrom sale today!

Whoa whoa whoa.. hold the phone! Nordstrom has a debit card?! If I had known that I would have signed up years ago! I LOOOVE my Target debit card since it’s not a “credit card”, so I know I’d love this one too πŸ˜€

not gonna lie, my zella leggings are awesome for working out. however, they attract almost all the cat hair in my house, it’s absurd how much cat hair can be on a pair of leggings.
i love that you tweeted for them to send you tea πŸ˜‰ i am pretty boring and picky with my tea, but i’ll keep this site in mind for gifts!

    Chocolate mint sounds delicious!
I might check the sale to get a Christmas gift for John’s sister. She has semi expensive taste (MAC makeup, Kate Spade everything) so if I could get something on sale that would be fab.

Reading consumes my life lately. I love it though. I read before work, I read on my lunch break, I read on the treadmill, and I read as much as I can at night! I love the Zella leggings (but I just wear the black ones as regular leggings, not to work out in) and the pair I have is now too big so I definitely snatched up a new pair today! I ordered way too much with the mindset I’ll be returning some…really hoping I don’t LOVE everything!

I keep meaning to try loose-leaf tea. I have only used pouches so far.

  • Reply Ashley July 9, 2015 at 9:25 pm

Hot tea is my favorite before bed! You have to try the Zella line. It’s the best workout gear!
