I haven’t done a confession post the last two weeks and I missed it. I hope you did too? Either way, it’s baaaccckkkk! (read that in a creepy/stalker tone, obviously)
–You guys. You guys. For the love! Why is it that Roden and Fields has taken over Facebook??? I have a few Facebook “friends” that are distributors and that is great and all. Congrats in fact! But here is the thing, you aren’t fooling anyone with the comments on your posts about how awesome that shit is. Every person that comments is another Roden and Fields distributor as well. I might have been interested in trying it out, you know, before you posted about it eleventy bazillion times and bothered the ever living shit out of me. Just no. But love you, mean it. I can handle maybe a post or two a week about it, but more than that? #justno

–I keep seeing this quote everywhere I turn. Do you think it is trying to tell me something? #voodoo

–Oh life lessons. I believe in either middle school or high school I learned the hard way that those who gossip to you will gossip about you. Sadly, that story is still true well into adulthood. If people want to believe that a shit-stirrers gossip is true, then I don’t need them in my life. #peoplesuck

–I have two nephews graduating preschool/daycare this week and heading to kindergarten. How has it been 5 years already??? Not to mention my oldest niece went to her first prom last weekend. She’s just a freshmen, but still…when my sister sent me a picture of her and the bf before they left…just wow! #wheredidthetimego
—Erin wrote a post yesterday asking “What happened to blogging?” It was basically like she wrote exactly what I have said to a few people recently. When did blogging become this cut throat competition of pin-worthy content, fancy pictures and a bunch of rules about what you should and shouldn’t do? I have been writing in this space for 3 years and sometimes it makes me sad to see how much things have changed. I come here and write what I write because I want to. Because I love connecting with you. Because I need a creative outlet.
I never pressure myself to see how many page views I get in a day or sell myself out because I am trying to make this blog a full time business. I have seen so many great bloggers get burned out and quit because they were trying too hard to be perfect. Perfect is boring folks. Write because you want to. Do what you want. What feels good.
