Music Speaks to Everyone

Day 29Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. Use Grooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post

Music speaks to most people. There are always songs that we relate to when we are happy, sad or mad. There are songs that instantly put us in a better mood. Songs that you just have to dance to. A song that is “our song.”

Sometimes I hear a song in the car, and I sing along like I am in a music video, looking out the window all sad faced as rain pours down. Am I the only one who does this? Crickets…

1. Meet Me Halfway – Black Eyed Peas
Meet me Halfway came out a few months before Chris and I started dating, so it was playing a lot on the radio. One day we decided it was one of our songs because at the time I was living in Atlanta and he was living in Birmingham and we would take turns traveling to see each other. I love this song!

2. You Make it Real For Me – James Morrison

I love the lyrics of this song. If Chris and I had a traditional wedding with guests and all, I had planned to incorporate this song into the ceremony somehow.

3. I’ll Be – Edwin McCain

Another song that I love the lyrics to. This song came out a long time ago, when I was in high school. I love the sound of Edwin’s voice, and the acoustic version of this song is my favorite. Every time I hear it, I smile.

4. Love Like Crazy – Lee Brice

I wrote an entire post about this song before. The lyrics are amazing. They remind you of the simple things in life that are very important!

Be a best friend, tell the truth
And overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best
Don’t outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy
And love like crazy

5. Praise You In This Storm – Casting Crowns

I wrote an entire post on why this song is important to me here.

What songs have meaning for you?

Also, if the links for Grooveshark are not working…I am terribly sorry. For whatever reason I can never make them work?!
