Literary Ladies Book Challenge

I have never joined in a book challenge before, but when I saw that Kristen was part hose of one…I thought now is the chance! I really liked all the different genres that they are hitting with this challenge, and I hope that I can fit all of these in my the deadline! I am also following along in their book club too. Looks like this will be the summer of reading for me, and I can’t be more excited!

3. A book that was recommended by a blogger (or instagrammer/you-tuber/goodreads-er)The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin was recommended to me by Kristen and probably other bloggers too!

4. A book that has been on your TBR list for a year or more The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty

5. A book with a kickass female characterThe Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay. This book was #18 on the Goodread’s list of “Unmistakably Strong Female Characters!!” so I say that is a kickass female character book, wouldn’t you? Plus I have heard amazing things about it.

We have the same choice for a book being turned into a movie! And I’m reading The Husband’s Secret but in a different category! I’ve never done a reading challenge either so I’m a little bit nervous, actually! I just hope I don’t fail too miserably.

A.J Fikry was really good and I have Sea of Tranquility out from the library. Heard great things about it. Happy reading.

Yay book challenges! We have some of the same books on our listsβ€”in fact, I think half of blogland has some of these, haha. Hopefully that means they’ll be good reads!

[…] was meal planning, shopping prepping in the morning. I also got my list for the book challenge posted. Then I had to get some veggie and fruit plates ready to take to my sister’s house, […]

I’m not reading any of the same books as you, but I have read Bossypants! It was entertaining, but I wish it had more in the way of life lessons. I feel like successful women probably have a lot more wisdom to impart than just jokes and there wasn’t as much as I was hoping for. Still a good read though.

This list looks so good! I wish I could do these challenges. I end up with things I want or need to read and don’t end up with as much enjoyment so I learned my lesson after the last few I tried.

Several of these are on my “to read” list, so I always look forward to hearing other opinions. Big Little Lies is sitting on my floor waiting to be read for another challenge. The Martian (with all its math/science stuff) had me not real excited at first, but it pulled me in, and I loved the characters.

I’ve read LA Candy and Big Little Lies, both pretty good books. And I was choosing between Second Chance Summer and another Morgan Matson book, Since You’ve Been Gone, and ended up choosing the latter but I still wanna read both!
Thanks you for joining the challenge, Nadine πŸ™‚
