I Just Dont Get It

Do you ever look at something that is really popular or loved by the masses…and you just…don’t…get it? It happens to me sometimes, so I thought I would make a list of things I just don’t like or get.

1. The Bachelor/Bachelorette – Do people really think they are going to find love on a realty show? Why are the girls so fake and bitchy? I mean the theory of the show alone sets these people up for failure. The main bachelor or bachelorette is dating several people at one time, getting close with them, kissing them….that is going to cause problems. Besides, bitches be cray!

2. Vine/Snapchat – I have too many social media platforms to keep up with already. I barely operate my Instagram account, I go days without a tweet and my Facebook statuses are sometimes so sporadic that I only post Roll Tide on game days. I don’t have time for even more social media!

3. Drybar – While I appreciate that you need to pamper yourself now and then, who can seriously afford to do this all the time? I am lucky if I can get my hair cut and colored more than twice a year. I don’t have the time or money to spend getting a blow out every weekend to sit around and watch football, drink beer, go shopping and play video games. Maybe if I were going to extravagant places all the time I would?

4. Jager – Just. No. Gross. I am not in college anymore, and even when I was I wouldn’t touch that shit. Shots in general are something that I just don’t do, but a special hell to the no on Jager.

5. Fad diets that are super restrictive – While I believe everyone needs to do what is best for them when it comes to losing weight, you wont see me on a grapefruit only diet. I want  more of a maintainable loss, so a lifestyle change is better than some crazy yoyo dieting that sends your metabolism packing. I like the concepts of lots of diets, and try to incorporate what makes sense from each of them into my lifestyle. Right now I am trying to eat cleaner.

What are some popular things that you don’t like or get?

i also don’t get why everyone loves drake. he’s a tool. sorry drake lovers, but he’s such a poser.

Amen to all of the above. Growing up, I watched my mom jump from one fad diet to the next. I went through my own period of calorie counting, thinking that was the way to health (wrong!). If you really want to get serious, you’ve got to do good research.

As far as things that I don’t get…

Uggs, Surzzup… or w/e that is and Bronies (I totally thought that was a joke until I heard about the conventions)

    All of these.

How can people think a cleanse is a sustainable way of life? It’s not.

I don’t even know where a dry bar is.

I’ve never watched the bachelor/ette shows either. just do not interest me at all. and the fad diets! something else I don’t get. you know you will eventually eat X again so why be super restrictive and then just fall back into old patterns? ahh.

Can we just agree that your list is exactly my thoughts? For real, Nadine, every.single.one. of those is so true!

I don’t get The Bachelor, either! Or most reality TV, period. No Real Housewives for this girl! I would love to try DryBar but only if I were taking professional photos or something that day. NOT for just a casual weekend.

Hmmm I did a post similar to this a long time ago but there are more to add to the list: college football (don’t hate me!), CBS sitcoms, and booties!

I’m SO with you on the fad diets. Yeah, you may lose a ton of weight but guess what…? You’re gonna gain it all back (and then some) the minute you slip – and you WILL slip! So dumb.

Jager is nasty, I can’t even smell it or I gag. I’ve never liked it, I cannot figure out why people do. Besides my mother – she loves black licorice, so it’s not surprising she likes Jager. For licorice haters though, why?!!

You know, I’ve only done a drybar once (because I won a gift card there through a blog) and it was awesome. Though I don’t have the money to do that all of the time, it would be nice for special occasions……if I had those to go to lol

  • Reply Rachelle January 25, 2014 at 2:23 pm

These are the best pics ever (are they called memes?) and they are so true! I don’t understand dry bars. Or the snapchat thing. Seriously nothing online ever truly goes away. One year, my interns googled my name and pulled up photos I hadn’t seen in a few years. Really freaked me out, even though they were fairly innocent 🙂

i don’t get the bachelor either. i don’t like women being catty and bashing each other. we’re not supposed to be in competition with each other–we need to support and lift each other up!
and i agree with the rest of these! i don’t get it either!

In fact social networks have revolutionized our lives
by incorporating all the basic elements of a person’s social life in one place.

I recommend using a simple font that is easy to read in a size ranging
from 32 to 40. The “following” and “followers” selection operates in the same fashion as
    Google+ and Twitter.
