Friday Five

I was so sad to hear about Chester Bennington yesterday. It is a sad reminder that mental illness and addiction is a thing that people struggle with every day. It is also a reminder that mental illness knows no social status. It doesn’t care if you are incredibly famous or just a regular every day person. Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands and has been consistent over the years for me. Sharing one of my favorites from them. Can you believe In the End came out 17 years ago???

Zoe and I stopped by my neighbors consignment sale to look at toys yesterday afternoon. I wont buy used clothes, but I am all about a good deal on toys. We scored some great finds! I cleaned them up and we got straight to playing. I think Zoe likes them, what do you think? I got everything for less than the full price of the yellow chair.

Somehow I picked up a huge bolt in my tire Monday on my way home from work. You don’t really think about how different life is with a kid until you have to run a simple errand like getting your tire fixed. Ummm a seven month old does not want to sit at a tire place for hours waiting around. I have been putting it off all week, but I need to just get it over with. Sorry to anyone who is at the tire place today when we go. I apologize in advance.

I really loved Linkin Park in high school and continued to listen to their stuff throughout the years. I was really bummed to read the news about Chester yesterday and realize yet another huge talent has succumbed to their demons. 🙁

I heard about the suicide – how sad. You are 100% correct – mental illness knows no social status. They were definitely one of the great bands.

I’ll be taking that salad with me on vacay! thanks for the reco 🙂

Ugh, we picked up a bolt in our tire last month and it was a headache to get it fixed WITHOUT a 7 month in tow. So I can only imagine. I hope they got it taken care of quickly for you!

LOL at Bert and Ernie! Girl I’ve been rocked by yesterday’s announcement about Chester Bennington, it hits so close to home and the pain is just too raw. I was in tears on the way home yesterday listening to Linkin Park, and am so thankful we jumped at the chance to get tickets to see them a few years ago. Another amazing talent who was suffering, and now gone too soon 🙁

I think that it also also goes to show hat money can’t fix everything/doesn’t buy you happiness. It really is so sad to see somebody so talented think that suicide is the only way out. On a lighter note I just about died with the Bert and Ernie meme! I was a huge Seasame Street girl and this explains why I’m probably super sarcastic. Have a great weekend!

    So sad about Chester.

Id say Zoe really loved the toys lol. That salad looks great and I hope the trip to the tire shop was good.

Chester’s suicide really got to me, too. “Leave Out All the Rest” came on right after I heard about it, and I lost it. Ugh… So sad. He was so talented.

I’m going to start blaming Bert and Ernie for the way that I am. Because I’m pretty sure I’m 50% Ernie and 50% Bert. SUCH a revelation! lol
