The Facts of Nadine

I decided to link up for the Blogtober prompt today because I love reading random facts about other bloggers! You really get a chance to learn a lot about them. I have also noticed some new faces following me on Bloglovin’ lately, so hello!

–I am the most indecisive person on the planet. I drive my husband crazy with it. Sorry, Chris! I don’t think it will ever change :/

–I love animals. LOVE. If I could have a million dogs, I would. That is why I volunteer at the Humane Society. If I can’t have them all, I can at least help them! The love runs deep you guys. The other day I was driving down I-20 and there was a beagle on the side of the road that had been hit and didn’t make it. I cried the rest of the way to work.

–My mom and I are super close. She is my shopping partner in crime, and when she works first shift, I call her nearly every day on my way home from work to chat.

–I am the oldest child. My sister Tracy is five years younger than me, and we have three step sisters that are younger than her.

–My favorite kind of music is anything from the 90’s or early 2000’s. Obviously.

–My signature scent is Coach Legacy.

–Chris and I met through an online dating site. You really can find love there…insert cheesy flashback picture from 2010.

–Our two year wedding anniversary is right around the corner! 11-10-12

–I love cookies, hate cake. Cupcakes are ok, but let’s be honest…I eat them for the icing.

–I am a sentimental person, yet I hate clutter. I have a real internal struggle when deciding to get rid of things!

–I am a bit OCD. I check multiple times to make sure doors are locked, straightener is unplugged, alarm clock is set, stove is off, etc. I get on my own nerves with it.

–I am a northern born Yankee living it up down south. My accent is so screwed up, I have no clue what you would call it. You know when I have been hanging out with my mom or anyone from up north though….because the Pittsburghese always comes back!

–I have never been further west than Kansas.

My accent is so confused too! A Baltimore accent mixed in with a Jersey accent. So confusing!

LOOOOOVE that you love animals! I’m such an animal person too! Happy almost anniversary!!

Good on you for volunteering! I volunteered for a while at Faithful Friends (basically the same thing), and it was rewarding but also sad to see all the animals without owners. I think if I volunteered again I’d have to pick something that tears less at my heartstrings.

My boyfriend is from AL! Despite that, I didn’t realize he even had an accent (he sounds pretty much the same as everyone else around here) until we went down South and I heard more Southern speech. He has just the tiniest hint of Southern twang in his vowels, and he pronounces “g”s and “j”s a little softer than I do.

Random facts are awesome!!! I am also the oldest. Yay for us!

Love that you volunteer. I tried to but the people were so mean I couldn’t go back.

I am from NY originally and I’ve been in DE for 19 years and my accent is very confusing. I also don’t know how to respond to the very simple question “where are you from?”

    Happy almost anniversary!

🙂 This post made me so happy! I love learning these little tidbits about you!!

And I think the more we talk – the more I realize that we are destined to be long distance BFFs…. beer burgers ocd? Where have you been all my life?

I’m a fan of the random facts.

  • Reply Joy October 30, 2014 at 2:44 pm

I sometimes leave the house and try to rack my brain to remember if I turned off the CHI. AND, did I or didn’t I put the garage door down.

  • Reply Kelli October 30, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Ahh another southern yankee, where in the south you sound like a yankee and in the north you sound like a southerner.

I have the very same issue.

  • Reply Stephanie October 30, 2014 at 3:12 pm

I can’t volunteer at shelters any more, everyone would end up coming home with me. It’s how I got hawkeye.

  • Reply Julia October 30, 2014 at 3:16 pm

I am SO indecisive too! It’s ridiculous!

Yes to hating clutter but hanging on to all kinds of crap because it has sentimental value! It’s a very bad combination!

And yes to being OCD about leaving stuff on when I leave the house. There have been a couple of times when we had to drive back home on our way somewhere because I couldn’t remember if I turned my straightener off. I always think of the episode of Friends when Rachel’s straightener sets their bathroom on fire!

That wedding picture is so beautiful!

  • Reply Erin LFF October 30, 2014 at 4:14 pm

Oooh, anniversary is right around the corner! 🙂 I’m with you on cookies and no cake. My MIL always makes me a cookie cake for my bday instead of a regular one like everyone else 😉

  • Reply Leslie October 30, 2014 at 4:14 pm

I’m very indecisive myself! Haha, it drives my boyfriend nuts too. I love cookies too, I found an awesome shortbread recipe, I think those are my favorite. My mom & I are close too, she’s like my best friend. I hope your having a great day!

  • Reply Kerry October 30, 2014 at 4:49 pm

Love all the random! Icing is the best part! If only I could have all the dogs!! So awesome you and your Mom have such a great relationship.

  • Reply Lauren October 30, 2014 at 4:53 pm

You don’t like cake??? WHAT? And I didn’t know you had step-sisters (I don’t think… maybe it just never clicked). I like posts like this. Always something new to learn!

  • Reply The Southern Thing October 30, 2014 at 5:26 pm

Seeing that poor beagle would’ve torn me apart. I wish I could save and keep all the animals too.

  • Reply Amanda Elizabeth October 30, 2014 at 5:42 pm

My OCD behavior drives me nuts as well girl! Sometimes I’m like all the way to my car in the parking garage and I’ll go back to check my door! I love all your fur babies! How often do you volunteer?

  • Reply John October 30, 2014 at 5:48 pm

I’m OCD about stuff too. Especially when it comes to my car (I got it a few months ago) I’m forever checking I’ve locked it, even once I’ve gone in the house, I’ll pop my head out the window with the key and make sure its locked. I’m also the same with cupcakes – I sometimes even eat the icing and give the cupcake to my other half 😀 Great post!

Awww, you guys met online?! That is really cute. I know it can be done but some of my friends have had some real horror stories.

I didn’t like sweets as much when I was younger as I do now. I wish it were opposite – why did I have to acquire a love for sweets after so long?!

I used to call my gma on my way to or from work every day when it was a 45-55 minute drive. Now it’s 10 min and the calls are much shorter.

  • Reply Kristen October 30, 2014 at 6:29 pm

aw thats so cute you all met online. and your anniversary is coming up! yay! you and your mom look so alike, and i love that picture of you as a kid, so freaking cute!
i am not the biggest fan of cookies, i can take them or leave them. i love cake but it has to be certain types of cake, i don’t like rich over the top stuff, a simple yellow / sponge cake will suit me fine. and cupcakes, eh. the icing is the best part fo sho!

Amazing wedding photo! I am the oldest two. These fun facts posts are always so fun to read.

  • Reply Tracy October 30, 2014 at 10:36 pm

I have the same struggle between wanting to hold onto sentimental things but hating clutter. I’ve managed to consolidate some of the sentimental things…and store them at my parents’ house so they don’t junk up mine, haha!

  • Reply Ellesees.blogspot.com October 30, 2014 at 11:46 pm

i am indecisive as well! i blame it on being a libra.

  • Reply Amanda November 2, 2014 at 3:21 pm

I’m the same way with the alarm, stove, etc! I have literally turned my car around and gone back home even though I was running late, just to check something again!
