Linking up with Kristen to share what I have been up to currently. I realized reading over this post this morning that I was sort of whiny towards the end of it. The past few weeks have been really rough at work and clearly it has changed my entire mood. I deleted some of my ranting for everyone’s sake. I think I need a large bottle of wine and some retail therapy to calm me down this weekend.

Reading: I am about half way through The Family Next Door and I really hope to have it finished before the next book link up. I am enjoying it so far. It sort of reminds me of Big Little Lies in a way.

The Family Next Door

Listening: I am still on an audiobook kick! Right now I am listening to The Hating Game during my commute and I am obsessed! This might be one of my favorites so far this year. I have LOL’d on more than one occasion.

The Hating Game

Watching: All the shows! I am really in to The Resident and 9-1-1 still. A lot of shows will be having season finales soon, can you believe it is that time already?? I want to watch Rosanne, has anyone checked it out yet? I used to love the show when it originally aired. Trading Spaces is coming  back! That was the original design show and I might check it out too.

Reminiscing: Zoe turned 16 months old yesterday. I dont even know how that is possible???? One of the class aids from her infant class was holding a tiny baby when we walked in and as I was struggling with a wiggly, 22 pound Zoe who just wanted to get down and walk and I thought….how was she ever that tiny???

Wearing: One confusing wardrobe! Monday I had on a dress, Tuesday I wore cropped dress pants and a short sleeve shirt, yesterday I was in a bomber jacket with jeans, last night it dropped in the 30s but it is supposed to be 70 today. How are you even supposed to dress accordingly? Get it together Alabama!

Planning: I need to plan a time to paint the guest bedroom. Maybe this weekend or next. The problem is, I need to find somewhere to put all the extra stuff that is being stored in there! We also have a few more things to do around the house to get it ready to list. I de-cluttered some of the living room this past weekend so I can at least cross that off. Oh and the grass. Ugh. Tis the season to start cutting grass every weekend!

Annoyed: I am not sure why, perhaps a combination of the stress from work, stress of getting all the things done, eating sugar with the Easter candy and cookies, or who knows what…but my face is breaking out again. I haven’t changed anything in my arsenal to cause this…so I know it is a lifestyle change that I need to make. Anyone have any tips on clearing up stress zits? Damn they suck.

What have you been up to?

Mother Nature needs to sort out her mood! I’d prefer warm & sunny though! It’s been the same here in Texas. It’s currently 43, will be in the low 70s later, back down to a high in the 50s Saturday, & then back up to high 70s/low 80s next week.

You have to basically dress for all seasons in a day here currently, the weather is whack! I have been in a mood and breaking out lately too. My lady times are also whacked out and I guess I can chalk the mood and zits to that? So annoying. I need to check out both of those books!

I am so excited about Trading Spaces!!!!! it even has Paige & Ty on it, I think!
I loved The Hating Game so much & though I’m not a huge fan of audio books, I think that would be a fun one to listen to.
I hate stress acne. The worst.

I feel like the world is a little whiny right now. Me included.

Aw, I’m sorry you’re having a rough week! It’s okay to rant and whine here. 🙂
The Hating Game was definitely in my favorites last year. I’m glad you’re loving it.

The Resident is SO good! Why are they making us take a break for 3 weeks??? I watched a few minutes of Roseanne, and Darlene was still as fantastic as ever, but the other characters seemed to be struggling a bit.

i swear i am always whiny. i keep it to myself for the most part because it always come across more whiny in written words lol. you can always whine to us ahole bros. i am *so* glad you’re enjoying the hating game.
i have no advice on the skin. mine still isn’t anywhere near resolved. i was thinking i need to make a lifestyle change as well because even though i’ve been changing up my products for 10 months trying to find something that works, i think it’s something in my diet because NOTHING is working and i’m sick of it. but, i like, really like food? so i don’t want to change. eat good food or get rid of zits? why so hard?
can’t believe Z is 16 months old. cray cray.

Similar wardrobe malfunctions here…no clue what is going on. Also, my face had a MASSIVE breakout around Valentine’s Day due to all the candy 🙁 It was ridiculous. Just had to drink lots of water and back off…have started using just coconut to wash my face at night (wet a washrag, dip in coconut oil, and scrub) which seems to be doing really well. Breakouts are less and healing faster when they do happen.

Our weather has been the same. It was almost 80 Tuesday then 40 yesterday. Same today, and we’re getting SNOW this weekend. make it stop! I need to check out The Hating Game! I have not loved anything I’ve read so far this year, but I have an Amazon cart full of goodies. I think my diet hurts my skin more than anything. I like the overnight acne patches… you can get them at CVS.

You can rant and whine all you want! My skin always has issues and is super sensitive. Best thing I’ve found so far is washing my makeup off at night in the shower with Burt’s Bees cleansing oil. Oil seems to treat my face better than soap. I switched to a soap to save money for a little bit, but I immediately started getting terrible break outs. The weather this weekend is going to be weirdly cold and rainy, so I’m trying to figure out how I will entertain my tiny tornado toddler.

I am so sorry, stress is hard and just know we all support you and you can whine and release some of the weight anytime! We loved Roseanne, very funny and relatable with heart at the center of it all. Ahhh the 4th, it means my oldest is a month closer to 21….ugh. You’ll blink and Zoe will be there!! Sending a big ole Bear Hug right now and a virtual cookie, lol.

Girllll you know how well I can relate to feeling like that about work. It truly does carry over into every other aspect of your life. Sending all the hugs <3

My wardrobe has been a mess too. It’s raining today, but was in the 70s earlier this week. How is Zoe seriously 16 months already?

  • Reply mandie April 6, 2018 at 12:24 pm

Ugh, breaking out when you are an adult is the WORST! I broke out recently too & I am trying to get things under control again before leaving for vacation next week.

I may have to read The Family Next Door because I really enjoyed Big Little Lies. 🙂

Ugh work. And ugh breaking out. Glad you’re finally getting to get into the Hating Game! How is she 16 months already?!? B and I watched a little bit of Roseanne, and we were pretty disappointed at how political it was. Still love Darlene though!

  • Reply Dani April 11, 2018 at 9:51 am

Give yourself a break! You can whine and rant all you want- it’s better to get it off your chest!
I love 9-1-1! I haven’t watched The Resident but I probably will because I’ve liked Matt Czuchry since his Gilmore Girl days. I’m wary of Roseanne because I heard it’s very political, but I’m curious about it. As for the breakouts, I use Clean and Clear Persa-Gel 10 spot treatment which seems to work fast. I hope you schedule in some time to relax this weekend!
