Confessions

It’s confession time once again!!!

–Since organizing my spice cabinet, I may have opened it several times just to peak at the OCD beauty of it. #noshame

–I was doing squat jumps with floor touches yesterday and got a little too much in to it and when I squatted down I almost tumbled over. Luckily there was a wall for my ass to hit to catch my fall. #beforecoffee #thatsgoingtobruise

–La Croix has become my new DDP. I have to have one every day after lunch during the week. Right now I am on a passionfruit kick but there isn’t a flavor that I have tried that I haven’t liked! #breakingdietsodaaddiction #notquitethesame #trickingmyself

–I have my dream kitchen all figured out on Pinterest, now I just need a money tree to fund it!!! #dreams

–I am beyond ready for a beach trip. Sadly it is like four months away. #needvacation

–I know that I should start caring now about my pasty legs since dress season is like two weeks away here in the south, but I am too lazy to decide which gradual self tanner I want to use this year. #pastyisthenewsexy

–I saw a local give away for a party of 20 and I thought to myself…I don’t even have 20 girl friends that are local to invite to a party. Sad but true. Isn’t that sort of the way of a 30 something when you aren’t from the state you live in? It is hard making friends when you are older. Well, friends that you actually want to hang out and do stuff with. I have a handful here that I am very thankful for and I think I will keep it like that. Too many shady bitches out there. #truth #realfriendsarebest

–The above confessions reminds me of how awesome bloggers are!! If it was a virtual party, I would love to invite all of you!!! I talk to you all more regularly than most people so that should say something! #bloggersforthewin

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who periodically admires my organizational work!! And yeah…I don’t know what to do about the pastiness either. In a bitch-fest on Sunday with my girlfriends (we do a “working hour” at a local french bakery) they decided we all needed a beach getaway stat and put one on the calendar for April.

girl the only way i have 20 friends is if i count the ones online, and um even then 20 would be a stretch! i have 3 friends in the city i live in, 1 in the one i am from, and probably a large handful of proper online friends, like this weird girl who checks out her spice cabinet. hahaha jk. you enjoy your la croix girl i’m sipping on diet coke 😉 also, screw self tanning. pasty is the new sexy (at least that’s what i’ve been telling myself since i was like 10).

  • Reply Christina March 9, 2016 at 7:33 am

haha I love that last meme you found.. you always have the best ones!

Ummm, all the anxiety about small talk – ugh. And there is no problem with checking out your organization – I do that shit all the time once I clean/organize something. And LaCroix is amazing stuff, and at least it’s replacing your DDP right? haha, and I’m with Kristen on the pasty — screw the self tanner!

  • Reply Amy March 9, 2016 at 8:51 am

So driving thru the parking lot at work today I saw 3 women in dresses with bare legs. I seriously got irritated thinking I need to get back on the tanner regimen. But then again, cute dresses! And passionfruit LaCroix is also my current fave!!! Love it with a splash of 100% cranberry and twist of lime!

  • Reply SMD @ Life According to Steph March 9, 2016 at 9:23 am

I am also late to the self tanner train this year. WHOOPS. It’s going to be 75 here today. Too late.

  • Reply Cara March 9, 2016 at 9:43 am

I’m the same way with real friends. I can count on one hand the amount of people I would actually want to locally hang out with, but if it was a virtual blogger party, it’d be an insanely huge party with all my peeps! 😉 Also, I hate small talk. I always end up asking a lot of questions to people, which probably comes off like an interrogation-haha

  • Reply kathy @ more coffee, less talky March 9, 2016 at 9:44 am

the organization staring = yaaaaassssss! when i did my kitchen, i left the cupboards open all day just so i can see them whenever i’m around LOL.

  • Reply Kelli March 9, 2016 at 10:05 am

I did my first seasonal serious leg shave the other day, I still missed a few spots but that’s okay I can only do capris right now anyway!

  • Reply Lauren March 9, 2016 at 10:11 am

Adult friends are hard. Adult couple friends are harder. I was trying to chat with a couple in line behind me at a brewery this weekend and I think my sniffing about if they were friend material or not embarrassed my husband!

  • Reply Tricia Coniglio March 9, 2016 at 10:17 am

haha! I don’t have 20 GFs that I would take to a party or trip anymore either. Actually, when I did hang out with that many people at once on a trip it wasn’t very easy. It really took away from the fun of the trip altogether.

I love that you open the cupboard periodically to look at the amazingness that is your cabinet!

  • Reply Andrea @ Living On Cloud Nine March 9, 2016 at 10:39 am

Imagine how it is in your 40s? I think we should have a blogger retreat and get all our favorite bloggers together and meet in some city for a weekend of fun food and cocktails! I would be admiring my spice cabinet too if it looked as good as yours! I’m in the same boat girl I desperately need the beach but ours isn’t
    until July. We can dream!!

  • Reply Jessica @ Pleas(e) & Carrots March 9, 2016 at 10:51 am

I have so many dream rooms planned out on Pinterest and in my head and it makes me sad that I can’t make them all happen RIGHT NOW!

  • Reply Jessi March 9, 2016 at 10:56 am

i LOVE your spice cabinet!!! And I hear you, I don’t have 20 friends and literally consider eloping so I don’t have to feel bad about how many people I can’t think to invite to my SOMEDAY FAR AWAY NOT HAPPENING SOON wedding.

  • Reply Kate @ Green Fashionista March 9, 2016 at 11:15 am

LOL at pasty is the new sexy! And Pinterest has such amazing inspiration, I wish it could spit out money to make those dreams come true too 😛

  • Reply marie March 9, 2016 at 11:17 am

I have my whole dream house pinned on Pinterest. It is nice to dream. I probably won’t ever have a single family house but it is nice to dream. I totally don’t have 20 friends. The older I get, the smaller my circle becomes and I’m really ok with that. I would love any vacation right now but sadly that ain’t happening anytime soon. Happy Hump Day.

  • Reply Rebecca Jo March 9, 2016 at 11:22 am

    …Dont worry – I wouldnt have 20 friends to invite either 🙂
…that’s exactly why I stay away from anything jumping – I’m not graceful at all!
… I speak great weirdness myself.

  • Reply Jana @ Jana Says March 9, 2016 at 11:25 am

I don’t have 30 real life friends either.

    And all those ecards. YES.

  • Reply Mattie @ Northwest Native March 9, 2016 at 12:35 pm

No way in hell would i be able to come up with 20 local friends! That’s crazy. If I had free reign of the whole country, then sure! Seriously can we just make small talk illegal? I’ll talk about super weird random crap with anyone, but please don’t talk to me about the weather or how my week is going. UGH.

  • Reply Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders March 9, 2016 at 2:18 pm

They’ve been stocking our office with La Croix for a while now, and there are so many people that are obsessed! I don’t know if I could give up my DDP though, I just love it too much! Haha, my legs are definitely pasty too, but I’m probably too lazy to even apply the self tanner if I bought it. Embrace the pastiness, right?

  • Reply Teh Megan March 9, 2016 at 2:32 pm

I’m still saying you can decorate my house.. but sadly, we’ll have a budget. 🙁

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis March 9, 2016 at 2:40 pm

The first confession had me cracking up….and so true about 20 friends….that would be a stretch at this age. LOL The passionfruit La Croix sounds delicious! Going to look for it at the grocery store….love the passionfruit flavor!

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family March 9, 2016 at 3:12 pm

The Oversharer e-card… hilarious! And so the story of my life.

And girl, you rocked that spice cupboard! Totally deserving of a few extra looks a day! 🙂

  • Reply Jenna March 9, 2016 at 3:37 pm

I am actually a little envious of that spice cabinet setup, myself. I should do mine.

I had my own clumsy moment last week when I was on my way to vote. I was walking down the steep hill from the Argo “park” to the building where you vote. My weak ankles picked that moment to give out on me, and forward I went. I caught myself, but I did bang my left knee really good and skinned it. Thankfully, no favorite pairs of black Kut from the Kloth skinnies were harmed in that fall.

  • Reply caitlin @ candyfloss & persie March 9, 2016 at 4:16 pm

I hear ya on making friends! It’s definitely harder in a new city and I’m trying to figure that out right now. And good job on the spice cabinet! A job well done. La Croix is the jam.

  • Reply Stephanie March 9, 2016 at 4:28 pm

Psssh that’s the way of a 30 something in the state they’ve lived in their whole lives. no, just me? I certainly don’t have 20 people to invite. I mean, I could find them, but I don’t want to. It’d be like the people I only call when I’m really bored and everyone else is busy on a Saturday night.
Can it be me plus 19 dogs though? I could rock that option.

  • Reply TexErin March 9, 2016 at 8:38 pm

I confess that I forgot to do a confessions post. We don’t have actual La Croix here, but sparkling water is the only thing that has ever helped me kick my soda addiction as well. In my case, pasty AND freckly is the new sexy. #ownit

  • Reply Katie March 10, 2016 at 12:28 pm

It’s so hard to make new friends in you 30’s. I can count the number or local friends on one hand, all the others are spread out up and down on the east coast, which makes for fun road trip visits, but those are few and far between with all our busy schedules. I agree, thank goodness for blogging!

  • Reply Carly March 12, 2016 at 6:17 pm

The orange La Croix is my favorite. It tastes like Sunkist!
