weekend shenanigans

Weekend Shenanigans

Oh, hey November!!! You sure did come fast! Time for another edition of Weekend Shenanigans!

Does anyone else thing of November Rain when November rolls around?

Accomplished

-cut the front and side yard for the last time this year

-hedged the bushes in the front of our house

-cleaned the house all while listening to Christmas music!!!

-put away all the Halloween decor

-meal planning and grocery shopping

-checked out the Christmas aisles at Target (obviously I want all the things!!)

-made the honey buffalo meatballs that I shared in my Friday Favorites a few weeks ago (I made them with ground chicken instead of beef, they were amazing!!!)

-organized a little bit

-finished reading Accelerate (it was awesome!!! review to come in the book link up next week)

-caught up with all our shows and got half way through season two of Friends

-watched Georgia lose to Florida

-watched Auburn lose to Ole Miss (I was actually rooting for Auburn! For shame, I know….)

Things that I did (1)

AKA Things that didn’t get accomplished

-cutting of the back yard – hey, 9,874 steps from the front and side yard were enough for me this weekend!!!

-working on any of my side projects that I had huge plans for

-organizing all of the things

-solving world hunger

Yesterday when I was taking the Halloween stuff down Chris says, “You putting up the Christmas stuff today?” My response, “It’s too early! That’s next weekend.” Hehehe!!!! That’s right, if I am going to spend hours putting it all up…then I am going to damn well enjoy it for as long as I can!!! I feel like Christmas decor and music only enhances my Thanksgiving experience, not take anything away from it. Plus I feel like if I have it up, it will feel more like November to me. It sure doesn’t feel that way yet. I don’t even feel like Halloween happened already, weird right?

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!!! I know I sure enjoyed getting texts from my sister and Laura with all the kiddos dressed up in the Halloween costumes!!!

Linking up with Biana.

Haha, I didn’t think of November rain, but now I probably will!! I still have all of my Halloween decorations out…oops — there’s a possibility they’ll still be up in a week too. Oh well — what’s a girl to do. I’m glad you had a good weekend!

I do not think of November rain, BUT I might now lol! You got sooo much accomplished and I’m excited to decorate for Christmas but will have to wait until the things get dragged down from the attic so I’m leaving Fall up a little longer. I do need to clean to Christmas music, on the agenda for this afternoon!! Hope you have a fabulous Monday! Can’t wait to hear your full review for Accelerate!

Yay for Christmas music! I know I’ll prob be sick of it long before Christmas ACTUALLY gets here… but for right now it’s fun! lol

I agree with you on decorating early… The season goes by so quickly and we should enjoy it! We threw our tree away last year and I’m not looking forward to spending the money on a new one… Can’t believe it’s November!

Christmas!!!! I’m so happy you share the same enthusiasm as I do about Christmas. Please do a post and show off all your lovely Christmas decorations! Glad you had a good weekend!

I am impressed at how much you got done! I got nothing done. Except for a whole lot of Gossip Girl-watching. And I guess I packed like two small boxes for moving.

I love November Rain. The song more than actual rain in November.

    Pinned the meatballs!

I don’t think of November Rain BUT I do always think of Greenday’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” in September. So, same thing, right?

I put up Halloween stuff about 3 days before Halloween and had to take it down almost immediately. Laaaame! This year Christmas is going up early so I can enjoy it for a while first. And I totally agree that Christmas and Thanksgiving can work in harmony rather than needing to compete.

You got so much done! Very impressed. I also cannot believe it’s November! I can’t believe you got all your Halloween decor away, I love decorating for Christmas but thinking about doing it right now kinda stresses me out, where is the time going?!

I am not ready for Halloween to be over but I am all about the Xmas movies to come out. I am not sure I am ready for the decorating though. So much work.

“even cold november rain” now playing over and over in my mind now, lol. i think it was the theme or song for homecoming one year when i was in HS or MS! lawd.

Sounds like you got lots done! I seriously can’t believe it’s November already. While I’m sad the year is zipping by, Christmas is my favorite time of year….now that I’m back I can focus on Christmas shopping and getting into the spirit. 🙂

Wow you sure did get a lot done! I didn’t get as many things done as I had planned last week because I had spontaneous projects pop up so I didn’t have time for much else. This week is a little more productive…hopefully nothing unexpected pops up during these next few days because I really need to clean/organize and get all my side projects done too!

  • Reply Joyce November 5, 2015 at 9:58 pm

You did get a lot done. We were going to cut the grass one last time, but we needed more gas and we never got around to going to the gas station. Needless to say, we didn’t solve world hunger either. Maybe next week! I will comment back http://www.oldefashionmom.com/
