Weekend Shenanigans

It was a gorgeous GORGEOUS weekend here in the south! Low humidity, mild temperatures, lots of sunshine. We don’t get many weekends like that before it becomes ungodly hot and humid, so you have to take full advantage!

I kicked Friday off with lunch at Zoe’s with my old Friday Lunch Club (minus the one who moved.) It was fabulous catching up and eating a delicious Greek salad. I even scooted out of the office 15 minutes early to get Zoe. I was shocked that the traffic was horrific. I guess everyone left the office early on Friday to enjoy the weather. I know mine was empty and I was one of the last out.

Saturday morning I  had the house cleaned before 7am. After Zoe woke up, we hung around and played some while Chris cut the front and back yard. When Zoe went down for her nap, I cut the side yard. Our self propeller isn’t working in the lawn mower at all, and it took me forever to push that thing around the side hill! What should have taken about an hour took closer to two. My shoulders hurt so bad when I was done! Plus, our sunscreen was expired from last year, and I got burnt on my back and a weird random spot on my arm. I burned 974 calories according to my watch though, so score!!!!

When Zoe got up from her nap, we headed over to my sister’s house. My BIL’s birthday is today, and they had a cookout and bonfire this weekend to celebrate. We ate delicious burgers and my sister made a peanut butter pie that was to die for!!! Zoe loved getting to hang out with all her cousins, and the freedom of running around in the country suited her well. Our yard is hilly and sucks so bad, so she took full advantage of my sisters!

Sunday morning we had a big breakfast, knocked out the grocery shopping early and got Zoe down for a decent nap. I made burritos for lunch and Gorgonzola gnocchi for dinner. We got to hang outside a little in the afternoon and let Zoe blow bubbles and have a little walk. Though, it was cut short because my piece of shit neighbors cant keep their dogs contained in their own yard. You guys, I am SO SICK of my neighbors!!!! Between all the crap they leave out in their yards, their dogs roaming the streets and chasing after cars, and how ridiculous they act in our neighborhood facebook group…we cant move fast enough. Chris said he saw one of their dogs trying to dig a whole under OUR fence. I love dogs you guys, but not when uncontrolled ones ruin our enjoyment of our own home. You know??

Anyways, after Zoe went down to bed…Chris and I caught up on a few shows and called it a night.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana. Let’s slay Monday!

She looks so sweet sitting on those steps!! So glad she got to go out and run around! 900+ calories mowing the lawn PLUS getting the house clean by 7? You are my hero. Glad you guys had a great weekend!

I got some outside time this weekend and it was great. It sounds like you had a really awesome weekend and yay for Zoe getting to run around at your sister’s. I’m sure she loved that. Sorry to hear about the neighbors though – how frustrating!

We enjoyed some time outside too because the weather was too pretty to not enjoy it! I’m glad that Zoe enjoyed running around, and I totally agree with you about your neighbors dogs! It’s totally the human’s fault but dogs need to be trained so that can at least not tear up other people’s property!

Glad you guys got some glorious weather this weekend! Love all the fun pictures of Zoe outdoors and her in the toy car is TOO CUTEE! I have some crazo neighbors like that as well that cause drama on our neighborhood FB page so everyone hates them but they live DIRECTLY next to us so we have to play nice and try to keep our distance since they are nuts!! The Zoe’s kitchen restaurants have been popping up in Orlando but I’ve yet to eat there. Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

What a fun weekend! I love the pics of Zoe running wild in the country! She needs a yard where she’s safe and happy. Irresponsible dogs owners are the absolute WORST. When you adopt or buy a dog you are accepting FULL responsibility for their safety and behavior. So terrible for you guys! Hope you get outta there soon!!

Those photos of Zoe are just too cute! I swear she couldn’t be any cuter! lol And boo to crummy neighbors. Our old neighbors had pitbulls that were just awful, always digging under our fence and being just plain mean but thankfully they were only renters and left a month ago. It’s been so peaceful ever since. Hoping things sort out soon!

I am so amazed that you had the house cleaned before 7am! You are serious goals right there. It sounds like such a fun weekend and a nice time at your sister’s. Zoe is just too cool in her shades. Sierra~Beautifully Candid

    1. Damn straight about a unicorn weekend! We gardened for most of the day on Saturday and I got sunburned (because I didn’t even put on sunscreen (hello, I’m a winner)) and I sat outside on Sunday while studying for my calc final.
    2. I am an admin on my neighborhood’s FB page and HOLY FUCK the ridiculousness that goes on. I have to balance between not being the inherent asshole that I am and not censoring people for being stupid. And then there’s the people who are just out for attention.
    3. Our neighbors have 2 dogs that they should just give to a rescue because they keep them in the garage in kennels when they are not tethered out in the yard. The FINALLY got a fence put in a few weeks ago and now the dogs are outside 95% of the time and they bark at every damn thing that passes by AND at us when we go outside and at Meri and Pax and I yell STFU all the time at them, I don’t even care anymore if the neighbors are home. I yell at Meri and Pax when they are barking, and I treat everyone’s kid like my own, so I yell at their dogs too.

I just don’t understand why it’s so difficult to be a reasonable individual who isn’t a terrorizing asshole to everyone around you. Just a MODERATE amount of consideration for others goes such a long way.

Look at how cute she is in your sister’s yard! That’s terrible about your neighbors. 🙁
