Weekend Shenanigans

Did anyone watch the debate last night and wonder how either of these candidates have gotten this far??? I felt like I was watching some five year olds go back and forth blaming each other for things they did and not focusing on anything real. Such a disgrace. There were several times I literally hid my head under my cover because I couldn’t deal. I guess I watched my scary thing for October. Can’t we all just agree to vote for a third party now? Woof.

Anyways, this weekend started out with a delicious lunch at Chicken Salad Chick on Friday with a sweet friend! I love that they always give you a cookie with your meal. Who doesn’t want a cookie?

Saturday morning I got the house cleaning knocked out early and then had a mini heart attack when I realized that Mac wasn’t in our backyard where I had left him. That little stinker crawled out of the tiniest infraction in our fencing and had himself a little adventure. I drove around in my car for a few minutes looking for him while Chris stayed close and searched on foot. Luckily, Chris spotted him trying to sneak back in to our backyard like the little asshole has done this before and we didn’t notice. When I got back home and picked him up all the adrenaline came rushing to me and I started shaking. Damn dog, worrying me like that. Needless to say, he isn’t allowed outside anymore alone until the fence is fixed.

After that whole ordeal, I got the nursery taped off and prepped to be painted. Again. My sister came over around 1pm and we got right to it. It looks SOOOOOO much better now and actually gray!!! I am really happy with the results. Our trim and doors look better with this tone of gray over the cooler tone that we had. I am going to tell any of you pregnant women out there right now, do NOT wait until your 32nd week to paint. Holy balls was I in some pain. Sadly I was huffing and puffing like I have never worked out a day of my life or something by just rolling. Baby girl is seriously crowding my lungs!! (And all my other organs.) My sister forced me to take several breaks. At one point she literally ripped the roller right out of my hands and told me to go sit. So thankful for her help!

The rest of Saturday, I parked my ass on the recliner watching football and didn’t move. Mac didn’t seem to mind. He was exhausted from running away, apparently.

I made some zucchini pizza bites for Chris a few times this weekend, they turned out really good and were so easy!!! All you do is turn your oven on to Broil, slice up some thin zucchini slices, add just a little bit of sauce, cheese and sliced pepperoni and broil on the top rack for about 3 to 4 minutes. Perfection!

Sunday I read for a little while then headed out to get our grocery shopping done. I haven’t been sleeping well so I felt the need to stop for a small iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts on the way!

I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend! Linking up with Biana.

What a little stinker dog! I bet you were terrified. Um yeah I had some thoughts like you while watching the debate. Jason and I might actually write ourselves in. Who needs scary movies or haunted houses this year with the election and the clowns?! Love the paint and glad your sister made you take a break!

I’m so glad you found your pup so quick, I’d have been a nervous wreck! And ahh I love the gray you chose, what is it? We are painting almost all of our rooms this winter in two different shades of gray and there are SO MANY to pick from idk how I’m ever going to choose!

The nursery turned out perfect, I think you nailed it, I’m just so sorry you had to do it twice but the end result is beautiful! Happy Monday sweet pea, I hope it goes fast!

Oh my goodness, I totally would have been freaking out too! Dart actually got out when he was a puppy and got hit by a car, so I totally understand the whole freaking out thing. I think that I actually freak out more because that happened. The new nursery color is so pretty! I love the grey! Overall it sounds like you had a fantastic weekend, and I need to try those zucchini bites!

Oh my gosh Mac…. nooooo! I have to admit, I kind of laughed when I got to the part about him trying to sneak back in though. 😉 Sorry he gave you such a scare! My dog has gotten out of a couple of times and it has given me a heart attack!

The nursery turned out GREAT! I love gray. We did Caleb’s room in that same color.

Ughhhh. Dog-induced mini-heart attacks are the absolute WORST. I shake and bawl when I imagine something bad happening to my little monsters! Glad Mac is home & safe!

I love that the nursery is a pure grey now. It looks really great!

That little stinker! Glad he’s home safe.

The picture at the top KILLED me. I’m laughing so hard at that. Oh, and I have to try those zucchini bites. I’ve just about burned myself out on squash over the summer, and I’m ready for some brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, but those look really good.

Chicken Salad Chick just opened in our area and they sent us some coupons in the mail so I ventured out on Sunday to get us some lunch and well, good to know, they’re closed on Sundays! Still dying to try this place out 🙂 The gray nursery room looks gorgeous! So impressed you pulled that off!

That whole meal looks delish! Chicken salad, pasta, soup AND a cookie?! I want that right now for breakfast- lol!! Your nursery looks SO good- the paint looks great and random, but I love the design of your doors in there too. Cannot wait to see it all come together. And take it easy woman!! You’re supposed to be relaxing 😉

What a stinker! So glad you found him quickly but not good for the pregnant lady to get all worried like that I’m sure. Loving the nursery updates and that updated color on the walls! I’m so afraid to broil but this makes me want to try. I need more veggies in my life!
