Sephora VIB Sale – What’s In My Cart and Recommendations

One of my absolute favorite times of the year!!! The Sephora VIB Sale!!!! It isn’t often that you can get a deal at Sephora, and so when they offer 20% off you buy all the things you need! I thought I would share with you today what I have in my cart, and some recommendations on my favorite things if you are looking to try something new. You all know I am honest with you, and I don’t spend my money on anything unless it is worth it!

What’s In My Cart

I am obsessed with Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense Moisturizer. I have purchased it several times. Thing thing is, I need a little something something for my aging skin. And I would love to have some SPF, you feel me? I think I am going to try out the Even Better Moisturizer this time. It says it’s a brightening, exfoliating, and clarifying hydrator. Sign me up! I still recommend The Moisture Surge Intense all day every day and will probably keep it as my nighttime moisturizer.

I have heard great things about the FarsÁLi Unicorn Essence, so I think I might try the small one and see if I notice a difference. It says it is an innovative, water-based, dual purpose serum, which helps protect the skin from free radical damage, while preparing it for longer-lasting makeup application. It has a lot of antioxidants in it that help with anti-aging too. I haven’t found a primer that I love, so maybe this is the route to go? Have you used it?

I am in love with L’Occitane hand cream. Seriously the best stuff ever. How awesome are their holiday kits?? Keep a few for you, give a few as gifts. Perfect!

What I Recommend

My two favorite foundations are the Estee Lauder Double Wear and the Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte. They are the only two that I can recommend without any hesitation. Double Wear has been a long time favorite of mine, and Peach Perfect is a new discovery…since it just came out. Both give medium to full coverage, and last allllllllll day long in the Alabama heat and humidity. Trust me, I put them to the test! The Peach Perfect is slightly less expensive, and you get a lot in the bottle!!! Most foundations are 1.0ML and this is 1.6ML!!! The only thing I will say about Peach Perfect is that there aren’t as many shades to chose from, and you might want to go lighter than  you think you are.

It is rare for me to stick to one product and never try anything else. That is the case for me and Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. If you aren’t using an eye shadow primer, I am not sure what you are doing with your life?? I like the original and anti-aging ones best. This stuff is worth every penny and lasts forever and ever.

I reach for one of three eye shadow palettes nearly every day. The Too Faced Sweet Peach has a great mix of fun and natural colors, matte and shimmery. And it smells AMAZING!!!

The Urban Decay Naked Basics Ultimate gives you so many looks, and they are all matte! There is a row of cool colors and a row of warm colors, and they all blend great.

And the third I use all the time is actually not found at Sephora, but you can steal it from QVC for half of what I paid right now. It is the IT Cosmetics Pretty In Summer Shadow Trio. Love it!

The Kat Von D liquid lipstick is seriously the best, most long lasting lip stuff out there. And I have tried SO MANY. The set looks like fun! If you only want to try one, Love Sick is my absolute favorite color. It is so pretty and the one I get complimented on most!!!!

The Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser is the best thing I have ever done for my skin. If you struggle with acne and aging skin all at once, this stuff is for you! Chris even uses it.

Kate Somerville Anti-Bac Attack is hands down the best spot treatment out there. One bottle of this stuff lasts me several months, I can’t say enough good things about it. Clears the inevitable stuff up, prevents other things from popping up and never dries my skin.

NARS Orgasm is a cult favorite for a reason. It looks amazing on everyone. Just do it.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer smells amazing and is so pretty! It’s been my go-to ever since it came out.

I am obsessed with my Elizabeth and James Bourbon roller ball. Smells so good!

What is in your cart? Is there anything I need to add to mine?

The Too Faced and Nars blush are awesome products. I just wish the Nars blush wasn’t so shimmery.

I use the other Farsali product when I apply my foundation every day. My skin gets drier as I get older and it helps my skin stay moisturized and helps my makeup go on well. I love it! Also I wear the UD primer, NARS blush, and that perfume every day! Great minds.

So I know that I need a new perfume – and that’s what I’m asking for for Christmas – so I might as well make it that one. I’ve heard such good things about it. And I really need a new blush, so I might have to invest in that NARS one.

Double Wear foundation and NARS blush are my tried and trues! Those lil hand creams are so cute and make such great gifts! Have a GREAT DAY!

Does the TF new foundation stay on well? I had a problem with the Born This Way foundation wiping or scratching off easily. My fav foundation is Lancome but I’m looking for a full coverage powder to wear more on a daily basis if I can find one. Might be adding that moisturizer to my cart and that cleanser looks like a SA one I’m currently using but isn’t working as well as it did in the beginning. On my list: I’m almost out of the IT Lip Je Ne Sais Quoi and I’m getting some for my mom for Christmas.

I love the UD primer for the eyes, love the Two Faced bronzer and naked palette. I need to try that serum for your make up. If you do decide to get it and love it, let me know.

I’m making sure to stock up on my Clinique moisturizer too! Both of those eye palettes look gorgeous, I just started wearing eye shadow again for the first time in months, so I’m definitely more tempted and I love the size of the IT palette- soo nice for traveling!

The two faced bronzer has rave reviews. Im not big on shadow but that Naked pallete is the one I want the most – the shades are SO me!

**palette – I just couldn’t leave a spelling error. lol

You’ve got some great product recommendations there. I’m a favorite of the Too Faced bronzer, in particular, and I love my peach palette.

I think I’d also recommend any of the standard Naked palettes (original, 2, & 3). I have all of them and Heat (which is good but probably not for everyone). I’d also add the Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer, the Becca Backlight Priming Filter, the Fenty Gloss Bomb, and the Lancome Teint Idole (my “old faithful” of foundations) to my recommendations.

I just grabbed a Boss Lady Beauty Agenda from Too Faced– this time for ME. I’d already grabbed one for my daughter, who has been begging me to get her some big girl makeup, and this seemed like a nice start for a collection. Plus, it has a cute little journal with stickers and is packaged REALLY WELL to keep everything together, unlike their previous holiday kits. It’s also better quality than previous holiday kits. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this one.

Also grabbed a Favorites lip set and a Favorites mascara set. The lipstick sets are great for building up a collection, and the mascara sets will last me for an entire year (especially with any extras I get from my Play sub). COVER FX Custom Enhancer Drops Set, because I love my liquid highlighter. It’s super duper versatile, and this is a great deal. I’m eyeballing a couple of sets from Bite Beauty, because those are always fantastic quality and a great deal to boot. Ditto for the Fresh Sugar Lip set. I missed out on that one last year. I’m also considering the CLEAN six piece set for $48, because I love their fragrances. I just happen to have a lot of perfume and lipstick in my house right now with more on the way.

Oh, and eyeballing the Smashbox set as a potential gift item. That’s three palettes (read: three gifts) for $39. Any one would be a nice gift for a dance teacher or one of my sisters-in-law.

I might get the Nirvana spray!

I hear only good things about that urban decay primer. 🙂 Nice post!

  • Reply Stephanie November 8, 2017 at 8:49 am

I’m definitely using this time to stock up on the Nirvana Bourbon!

That peach palette is so pretty!! I love a good palette… le sigh! I do all eco makeup now, so I don’t shop these places with all the sales, but it’s awesome to get good deals on items you will use! 🙂 Xo – Alexandra

Soo many good picks! I love that urban decay palette and the mix of warm/cool colors!

  • Reply marie November 8, 2017 at 10:42 am

Great picks. I love that double wear foundation. I stopped using it for awhile but I so need to go back to it. I tried the milk blur foundation. I hate it. All it does is seep into my pores no matter what I do. It is also really drying. I love the sephora sale!!

  • Reply Kate November 8, 2017 at 12:31 pm

All hail the mighty UD Primer Potion, hands down best product ever! Never ever straying! This sale is why Sephora wins over Ulta in my book, no exclusions no funny business. Simply 20% off of everything <3

  • Reply Dani November 8, 2017 at 12:42 pm

I went to Sephora solely for that rollerball after I saw Steph recommending it, and I’m obsessed! I’m sad that the Peach perfect doesn’t come in more shades. Finding the perfect shade is such a struggle! I might have to check out that Clinique moisturizer- I need a heavier one these days. Great picks!

  • Reply Biana November 8, 2017 at 4:25 pm

I have that UD palette and love all the colors! I’m so excited for the sale – I have a few items that I’m replenishing and I may have to get that great lipstick set!

  • Reply Audrey November 9, 2017 at 9:51 pm

We’re not as big of fans of the Murad cleanser as you are, but it works ok. I’m glad it works well for you!
I just got the eyeshadow primer a few months ago and LOVE it!
The unicorn essence intrigues me… lol!
