Seeking Peace

When I think of the word peace, I automatically picture myself sitting on the beach in the early morning as the sun is rising and no one is around. The waves are crashing in to the shore, you can hear the birds above out in search for their breakfast. Sitting next to the ocean just brings this inner peace like nothing else.

I also like to think about all the other every day comforts that bring peace to my life.

Peace is….

The sounds and smells of a fire place crackling on a crisp winter night.

Listening to the rain fall from under your blankets.

Doggie snuggles after a long day.

A day of shopping with my mom or a phone conversation with my sister.

Lunch with your bestie on a Wednesday.

Looking at the stars on a clear night.

Freshly cleaned sheets.

A candle burning.

A hot bath filled with eucalyptus scented salts.

A familiar old song on a bad day.

The sound of falling snow.

The first morning you step out and smell fall in the air.

The warmth of a cozy blanket.

A cup of hot chocolate.

A hug from the person you love most in the world.

What does peace look like for you?

Ahhhh, the sound of snow falling. I love and miss that so much. And I better be that bestie you’re having lunch with on any given Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, whenever, whatever. 🙂

I’m getting chills thinking about the sound of snow and a lit candle and clean sheets and a starry night. I love all those things so much! Your list could be my list- though I’ve never tried a eucalyptus salt bath!

I love this so much, and I totally needed it today! Daisy had an emergency procedure last night and I had to leave her for a couple hours and she cried when I left. Peace is seeing her sweet face and just reading these words of yours made me feel better!

Totally snuggling under the blankets when it’s cold, hot bath with Epson salt after a workout, wine by the fire!

Awe, precious! So many of these things mean peace for me as well. Doggie snuggles, hugs or cuddles from loved ones, candles burning, that first cup of coffee in the morning, and shopping with my mom days, those are some of my favorites!

Totally the fire crackling or the rain falling when you’re cuddled up under a blanket at home is what makes me feel at peace too! I need to try and find those things more often when I’m feeling stressed out!

I love all these things. There’s nothing better to me than sitting inside curled up under a blanket on a rainy day and not having a care in the world. 🙂

Oh i love hearing an old song on a bad day. Totally makes the day brighter! Even though I am an adult (that is questionable tho), whenever I get a hug from my Grandmother, I always feel at peace. She is a great source of comfort.

Doggie snuggles and husband hugs can make the whole day better for me. I like to turn lights off and light candles, too, and burn incense.

Wait, snowfall has a sound? I did not know that! What does it sound like? I’m a snow virgin so I have no clue at all about anything snow-related…besides snow cones. Does it have a smell like rain does?

ahhh i love this. you hit the nail on the head with ‘A familiar old song on a bad day’, especially when you don’t go looking for it and it’s like the universe knows you need it.

It was so hard to leave my last apartment because it was the first and only time I had a fireplace, and I really miss that crackling fire in winter! Love all of these!
