Getting It Done

Hey there!!! First of all, I want to let you know that I am over getting interviewed by the amazing Jana today!!! That interview is way more interesting than my goal recap for spring and what I want to pretend like I am going to accomplish this summer. Just sayin’.

Body

1. Finish the C25K program – I finished the C25K program and can’t believe that I am still running on a weekly basis. Who knew. I still hate every minute of it though, except that final 5 minutes of cool down time when I know it is over and feel super accomplished. And sweaty. Mostly sweaty.

2. Find a new work out for Thursdays – I found a whole new work out program, double score!

3.Schedule an appointment for the dermatologist – I will be taking care of this when I get back from the beach!

Mind

1. Read The Body Book – I read The No Excuse Diet instead since the opportunity to review it arose, I plan to still read The Body Book this summer!

2.Read 5 books – The Beach House, Promises to Keep, Before We Met, The No Excuse Diet, Yes, Please!, Bittersweet

3.Watch a documentary – Going Clear

Home

1. Continue collecting things for the gallery wall – We bought a shelf for our living room instead, let’s call it a wash!

2.Find a way to get my china cabinet to my house (it is currently sitting in my mom’s garage) – Yeah, this didn’t happen

3. Purchase some plants for inside, start a garden outside – Big fail. Keeping the yard looking good takes up all my energy.

Food

1. Try 3 new recipes – Balsamic Glazed Pork Tenderloin, No Bake Power Balls, Sesame Chicken, coconut flour muffins, quinoa greek salad, apple butter, chocolate peanut butter chia seed pudding, quinoa enchilada bake – I was busy cooking this spring!!

2.Visit 3 new restaurants – Taco Mama, Bottega, PT’s, Rowe’s Service Station

3.Work on IIFYM plan – I decided to go grain free, dairy free, processed free instead of trying the IIFYM plan. I have kept my research on it that I have done so far and plan on revisiting…it’s just that this grain free thing is working and if it ain’t broke…it doesn’t need fixing for now! I call that a win, finding something that is actually working!

Summer Goals

Body

1. Continue current exercise schedule of running 2-3 days per week and strength training 3-4 days

2.Be able to go up in weights by August

3.Get fitted for new running shoes.

Mind

1. Complete the summer reading challenge

2. Read each of the monthly Literary Ladies book club books

3. Watch a documentary

Home

1. Continue to gather stuff for the gallery wall

2. Find a storage solution for the hand held game cartridges

3. Get some plants going

Food

1. Try three new recipes

2. Eat at three new restaurants

3.Continue on grain free/process free plan

Do you have any goals for the summer? Don’t forget to head on over to my interview with Jana!

Look at you go! I have also thought of doing IIFYM but it seems so complicated. Sticking with cleanish eating for now! Can’t wait for you to share more recipes!

Planting is hard because after you plant you have to keep watering, and it’s sooooo hot with no rain. I’ve been hauling water to my plants for weeks since Salem chewed up my hose. Whomp whomp.

My summer goal is to not sweat to much. 🙂

I see lots of green, lady! Well done!!!!! 🙂

Good job! I wish I had a garden this year, but alas… I can’t wait to move and have a little herb garden at least! The closest I’ve come to documentaries are the “Legends & Lies” episodes on FoxNews haha! And what’s the summer reading challenge? Did I miss something?!

Once you are totally comfortable with your diet, you should try tracking. Having set macros and hitting them in whatever form (clean, grain free, paleo or IIFYM) you could maybe see even more progress/change specific to your body & goals. Most of the people I know that track only eat clean. I track and just try to eat as good as possible, simply because I feel best 🙂 I’d say more 90/10 for me. Tracking your macros can be in whatever form of food you want! My home goals NEVER get done. I’ve been meaning to paint my spare bathroom for months, I just keep putting it off haha

Your goals inspire me! Please go to the Derm! I had two cancers removed and yes, I still tan but use his requested sunscreen and get checked twice a year. What I have to do since I love the sun. You are like the lil energizing bunny and I love it!!! Go go go Nadine (but RELAX next week!) 🙂

LOL at the “Carlton dance”. And look at you go completing the Couch to 5K program! Running is not my thing, so I’m always in awe of others who can endure long distances. And YES to going to the dermatologist – practicing safe sun and annual skin checks are a vital part to our health 😉

I am meaning to try the couch25k program! I have heard wonderful things! I also hate working out until the end. My face gets super tomato red in addition to the sweating. It’s quite charming. As for your china cabinet – I dont know if they do this by you but in NYC you can rent a truck from the Home Depot for like $10 an hour. I think it is for customers to bring stuff home from the store but we use them for all kinds of different projects.

Way to go for finishing the 5K program!!! Did you post about chocolate peanut butter chia pudding? That’s a recipe I need to see.

You have done so well! I can relate to the gallery wall, I collected stuff for one in our bedroom then decided I liked it best looking more simple. Womp, womp. Nice job on c25k! That is such a good program, I used it last summer and really liked it.

You did great- and kudos for doing the whole c25k program! I’m thinking I might start back up with that once I’m cleared to run. Taking 3 months off is NO JOKE! 🙂 Have you shared all those recipes on this blog? I want the quinoa enchilada bake one- I felt like I saved it but I’m not sure?! lol

  • Reply Biana Perez June 23, 2015 at 2:22 pm

Anytime i see the time on the treadmill even remotely close to what I want I get excited!! great job with all your fitness and eating goals!!

  • Reply alyssa June 23, 2015 at 3:19 pm

I’m so proud of you for finishing C25k and sticking with it! I wish it were more enjoyable for you though 🙁 I wonder if the reason I’ve really always enjoyed running is because I do it outside, and there’s usually something I enjoy about the route I’m running? Not necessarily suggesting you take your runs out into the Alabama heat and humidity, just thinking out loud 🙂 And I think getting fitted for your shoes is a great goal and will have a really good effect on your runs!

Great job on crossing so many spring goals off your list and good luck with the summer ones! There are some really awesome documentaries on Netflix and HBOGO right now, btw. 🙂

  • Reply jackie June 23, 2015 at 3:31 pm

ahh i need to watch going clear. and if that diet is working for you, definitely keep up with it.

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis June 23, 2015 at 4:26 pm

I should really make a list to hold myself accountable but in the summer, I just want to enjoy the outdoors and do as much pool/beach days I can…along with healthy eating, and other things…congrats on achieving most of your list.

I need to start that C25K program! I HATE running and I never last. Good job on your accomplishments though! I’ve been wanting to start a garden too but the heat has been unbearable lately.
