Friday Favorites

Even though it was a short week, it wasn’t exactly an easy one….was it? It always seems to work out like that. I am glad that Friday is here and I **think** the rain is finally moving out of our area for tomorrow. I don’t really know what happened, but my allergies went insane this week! I have been downing Wal-itin D (Walgreens brand) and Sambucol Elderberry like it is my job. I don’t think we have any set plans this weekend, what about  you?

Favorite Moments: Laura and I hit up Saigon on Wednesday for lunch. We always share the spring rolls and order our own entrees. Well, I have been wanting to try their dumplings, but didn’t want to not get the spring rolls. What is a girl to do??? I suggested we split the spring rolls, dumplings and a bahn mi so we could each get a taste of everything we wanted. Laura played along and it was seriously the best idea ever! Everything tasted so amazing, and we topped it off with some thai teas to go. Delicious food and even better company? That is the way I like to spend my Wednesdays!

When I was picking Zoe up from daycare Wednesday night, her teacher was telling me how big of a help she was at clean up time. Meanwhile, Zoe is walking around picking up every single toy on the ground outside of the “play area” and handing them to the other teacher. Apparently my OCD cleaning habits with her toys is rubbing off on her. I am not sure if I should be proud or worried that I created a monster. That evening when it was time to go to bed, she freaked out because her teapot wasn’t put back in the exact right spot and she had to fix it immediately. She cracks me up.

Favorite Finds: You guys, I have been on the hunt for some perfect summer shoes since about March. I keep looking at pairs and not really finding anything I absolutely love. I bought this tassel pair at Target that I love, and these DV Blush Wedges. Both are fabulous finds!!! But I also needed a new pair of black sandals that are little more casual, but still work appropriate. And I needed something cognac. Macy’s is running a $10 off $25 or a 15-20% off your purchase right now. I scooped up these Marc Fisher sandals for a good deal. And you all, they are a dupe for the $600 Chloe shoes that I loved a few months ago but wrote off because…who pays $600 for one pair of shoes??? Not this girl. I used my Ibotta money I have earned from grocery shopping the last few months, so I didn’t even have to really “pay” anything from them. If you aren’t using Ibotta, you need to be!!! Here is my referral link, go sign up with it and you can make $10 to start out with! https://ibotta.com/r/ptgvoaa

Next up are these Marc Fisher Cognac wedges with the woven bottoms. I am so obsessed with rock studding on shoes, purses, furniture. If gives it a little edge, but is still classy. Like seriously, how gorgeous are these????? I found a pair that are similar in the cork for $20 less. But I just think for me, it is worth it to have the woven look. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I plan to soon.

Favorite Drink Recommendation: Have you seen the Mint Watermelon Tea from Trader Joes???? It is seriously SO amazing!!! Do yourself a favor and add this to your list next time you are there. Steep it and pour it over ice. Summer perfection in a cup.

Give me all the shoes! I think it’s funny that Zoe is picking up everything… she will be a big help to you! We’ve had crazy weather, too, and my allergies have been off the hook. I cannot get enough medicine. hope you feel better and get some rest this weekend! Loved Allison’s post, too, and loved being part of it!

How cute is Zoe?! Hopefully that cleaning lasts into her teen years! I was more of the “Mom, why do I have to clean *my* room because *your* friends are coming over” type. I don’t wish that upon you… and it will probably happen to me lol

Sheffield cleans if I bribe him with food – can’t get mad at him – I’m not a very clean the house/organized person, so clearly he takes after me. I just went and read Allison’s post, and that is the greatest thing ever. Also Thai tea 4 lyfe.

Adding that tea to my next TJ list! I am loving the sandals, I’m so ready to pull the trigger on the tassel ones. Hope your June weekend is cool and sweet!

My husband is the OCD one is our house when it comes to cleaning & tidying up. Abel is really into “helping” too and I remember that Swede was at the same age, but she’s over it now. Once they are old enough to legitimately be any help with chores they don’t think it’s fun anymore to do them!
The mint watermelon iced tea sounds wonderful! Yet again I’m bemoaning the lack of TJs in my town.

Well at least you know Zoe will be a tidy girl. She might need to come over and teach my boys a things or two. They leave trails of things behind them. I’m loving the studs on those Marc Fisher’s! Cracking up at that lottery funny! I’m always like, please Lord, I promise if I win I’ll donate and do good with the money…it hasn’t happened yet. I hope you have a great weekend! Sierra Beautifully Candid

Seriously Marc Fisher makes the most comfortable shoes ever and the quality is excellent. My shoes from them still look brand new and I wear them to death. I love hearing those OCD clean skills are rubbing off on her, I hope the same for Patrick 😉 I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

That’s so cute that Zoe is already starting to mimic you and all the picking up! And oh my goodness, now you have me craving Vietnamese for lunch today! A bahn mi sandwich sounds perfect on a Friday! I hope you have a great weekend!

Sharing food whenever I go out is something I do almost every single time. My husband and I usually pick our first and second choice entrees and then debate it out.

I am going to pick up that tea for sure this weekend. Love the shoes! I have Ibotta but I really don’t buy anything at the grocery that qualifies, I am such a perimeter of the store person. I guess I need a tutorial! Have a great weekend and here’s to hoping it feels as long as the week did!

I need that tea from TJ’s. It sounds soooo good. My girls are big helpers with cleaning up. They have a clean up song that they sing at school and then do it at home. I love it!

  • Reply ShootingStarsMag June 1, 2018 at 11:11 pm

Aw, that’s cute Zoe is such a clean up helper! Now if I only I could get my nieces and nephew to be like that…haha
Omg, I love all your memes. Too funny! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

I feel like this year has been one constant string of bad weather. I’ve never had dumplings before but those look so good! I looove those Marc Fisher sandals- I’ve been loving a full platform for some reason and have my eye on a pair by another brand, but I’m loving the ones you shared. I’m on a Target shopping ban, but I love those tassel sandals too– and they’re one of the variety that come in wide so I’m even more tempted!

I love a good wedge shoe–Target always has the best, but sometimes ya gotta splurge 🙂
