Time to link up with Kristen and Gretch and share what we have been up to!

Reading: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)

Listening: Seriously…I’m Kidding on audiobook

Seriously... I'm Kidding

Watching: Lucifer started back this week!!! We are also keeping up with everything that came back last week. Scandal will be on tonight, and Blindspot starts back later this month. So I am excited for those too. And when we aren’t catching up on all the fall shows, football is on.

Working: Our kitchen has gotten out of control. Zoe’s bottles and food have taken over half our counter space, I don’t have any good cabinet space for her plates and flatware that we are starting to pick up. And our pantry and refrigerator have no rhyme or reason to how they are laid out currently. I am not sure how my OCD self has let this happen….but it is time to purge and organize everything! It gives me anxiety just looking in the room!

Planning: Zoe turned 10 months old yesterday. Shut up!!! I know!!! I can’t believe it either. I obviously need to really start planning her birthday party! I think I have the day and time picked, and I know the theme. I have napkins, straws and one cute decor item purchased. I need to get the rest!

I also need to start picking up Christmas presents. Usually I have a few bought by this time, and I only have some clearance clothes and two movies to start Zoe’s collection. I haven’t even started on anyone else.

Lusting:Since I want to finally make a homemade pie this year, I want to get a special pie pan. I am thinking something in a really pretty color like this one. Do you have a favorite brand for baking?

Quoting:

So true !!, #coolquote

Excited: My Godmother is coming to town this weekend for my mom’s birthday, and she will get to meet Zoe for the first time!!! She flew down here from Pittsburgh last year at this time for the baby shower and I can’t wait for Zoe to get to see her. My sister and I are going to meet up with her and my mom over lunch.

What have you been up to? Do you have any fall treats that you have to bake each year?

I just pinned that cute yesterday!!! That is so neat your Godmother will meet Zoe!! That pie dish is amazing. I got a blue one in a specialty kitchen shop that is made out of clay so the baking is distributed evenly and I love it!! You know I’m a baking foil this time of year..I say fool because I.can’t.stop!! LOL! Have a GREAT day!!

Ooh love the color of that pie pan! How fun that your godmother gets to finally meet your daughter, and planning a first birthday party has to be such fun!!!

I really need to get on Christmas shopping too. I have a few ideas, but I’m usually way more prepared than this.

omg the kids’ stuff that takes over your house. reality shock: it doesn’t get better until about 7yrs old, then it starts to dissipate when they outgrow toys and you can finally donate and focus on the good stuff – buying them books and craft stuff LOL.

My kitchen needs a huge redo and purge too. It’s on my list for next weekend.

Loving that pie pan… That color really would work for many holidays & seasons.
Love all those Jenny Han books. Just a light easy read.

Kids’ stuff multiplies when you’re not looking. It’s like Gremlins except you have to clean up after it.

That pie pan is super cute!!

That pie pan is so beautiful!
I agree that kids dishes can get out of control really easily. Especially sippy cups. We have such a hodge-podge of difference styles and sizes. They take up so much space and because they’re plastic if you accidentally knock one the whole shelf comes down! I guess I’m due for a kitchen reorg as well. 🙂

Chris and I did a purge of the pantry and the kitchen cabinets about a month ago and it felt so great to just get rid of stuff! You’re OCD self is going to love it! And how in the world is it almost the holiday time frame right! I honestly haven’t baked a pie from scratch before but I really want to try! It would be so much fun, plus I love an excuse to get a new kitchen toy!

So special that your grandmother gets to meet Zoe this weekend! I can’t believe she’s 10 months. Seriously, where has the year gone?! My pantry and cabinets are a mess as well. I’m also not sure how I let it happen, or how to get it back in order!

I’ve always wanted to watch Lucifer! I’m kind of in between shows right now so maybe I will give that one a try. Also, I have two pie pans that look just like that. They are different colors, but they make the pies turn out so pretty!

I read that Ellen book a few years ago and thought it was cute and funny. She’s the best!
I really need to start on my Christmas shopping soon. I like to spread out the spending.

I love the Lara Jean books! 🙂 I hope you are enjoying them! Have so much fun seeing your God Mother. How special that she will get to meet Zoe! 🙂 We love pies, we had pies at our wedding! hehe We love to make Pumpkin and Apple Cranberry every year. I want to do more fall baking before thanksgiving though. I tend to forget about it. We do pick up an excessive amount of cider donuts at the farmer’s market though… 🙂 XO – Alexandra

I keep saying I want to read those books but I’ve never thought to put them on the hold list from the library. That pie dish is so pretty! I’m hoping to make a couple this year too– we just have regular glass pans, but I might keep my eye out for something a little prettier! I hope you guys have a great weekend with your Godmother visiting and meeting Zoe!

I also “read” Ellen’s book on audio. While I love Ellen, I thought the book could have had more to it. It wasn’t bad though. Enjoy celebrating your Mom’s birthday this weekend with your family!

How are our girls getting so big so fast?! Time needs to sloooooow down! I’m so excited for the return of some of my favorite shows too! Have fun with your godmother and celebrating your mom this weekend <3

I loved Ellen’s book- hope you’re enjoying it! That pie pan is lovely. I used to do pies, but I’ve gotten lazy lol. I do make pumpkin cheesecake oreo cupcakes every year though, and I like the Betty Crocker line 🙂 “Shut up!!! I know!!!” LOL. What’s the bday theme?

In regards to your response to my comment from your last post, Superstore cracks me up and I love it 🙂 I think it’s an NBC comedy, too. They just started season 2!

My grandma has been baking pie forever and one year I got her one of the deep dish decorative glass (ceramic?) pie plates from Marshall’s. She says it’s the best pie plate she’s ever used! I got it around Xmas time and it has a little Christmas saying on the bottom of it.

  • Reply Darby October 6, 2017 at 11:16 pm

Talking about Christmas gifts gives me anxiety! I am already so far behind! AHHHHHH!

  • Reply emelia October 7, 2017 at 11:48 am

How’s Ellen’s book?! I’m excited to hear about it. Is it weird that I can’t wait to get home and clean? Chuck has been keeping up on the home front- but I’m the one who’s like pitch this, get rid of it- donate that. I am hoping to do a minor clean out before baby comes home and then a big one in the Spring! How great your Godmother gets to meet Zoe- it will be a fun weekend for you! I am NOT prepared for Christmas this year at all, and for once am kind of like- ehh it’s ok. I’m thinking baby pictures will make great gifts for grandparents 😉
