about me, currently

Currently

It is time to link up with Kristen and Gretch for a currently post!

Reading: I am finishing up Jane Green’s Falling and Roanoke Girls right now. I hope to have both done before the link up on Tuesday!

Watching: We are waiting for all the fall shows to start back! We started watching Catastrophe this past weekend and are in the second season. I really like it. I also watch episodes of Young and Hungry when Chris has other things to do. We are still catching episodes of Younger when they come on.

Planning: I can’t believe I am about to say this, but Zoe’s first birthday is just a few short months away!!! I have the theme for her party picked out and ordered the first thing for it this past weekend. I know what I want her outfit to look like and I need to call and schedule her one year/smash cake pictures too! I can’t talk about it anymore or I might start crying. A year??? No.

Debating: On if we are going to Gatlinburg or not after Christmas this year. The fires last year devastated the area and the supply of chalets is really low right now, which means they are asking A LOT for them. We didn’t go last year because we had a brand new baby and weren’t in any shape to travel, so we really want to go this year. It is a tradition and we enjoy it so much!

Lusting: Have you guys looked around the clothing department at Target lately??? There are so many things I want right now!!! I always get excited when the fall clothes come out, their tones just suit me and my pale skin so much better. How gorgeous is this color top??

How cozy does this poncho look?

Love this pretty color too!!!

This green sweater would be so perfect this fall/winter!!! I don’t have this color right now and I am loving everything I see in it.

Welcoming: Fall!!! I am excited that fall is here! Cooler temps, football, new shows, and all the holidays will be here before we know it. I am hoping to do a few fall fun activities with Zoe and start some traditions. Do you have any traditions that you do with your family or you did when you were little that you loved? I think a trip to a pumpkin patch is always fun, but what else?

Photographing: Zoe, of course! And food. Always food. I keep saying that I am going to get Chris’s fancy camera out and learn how to use it, but seriously…I need to make that a priority this fall! My iphone does a fabulous job for the every day things, but I would love to stage some pictures of my own every few months. There are so many picture ideas on Pinterest. Especially with the holidays coming up!

What’s new with you?

I am loving the darker color green too! And I forgot about catastrophe, I think that’s one we would like watching. I know I love younger! Go to Gatlinburg! It will be a tradition that Zoe will take on with her family in years to come too. We love Gatlinburg so much we got married there! Just go!

I love Gatlinburg! Is there a way you could stay in a nearby town or try Airbnb or something? Or maybe you can make a new tradition with visiting a different town. I also love Younger and Young and Hungry 🙂

    Thanks for linking up!

We haven’t been to gatlinburg in a few years and we need to go back! We’re so close to it, really. Can’t believe that sweet girl will be turning one soon! Where did the year go?! Love all the green! I ordered a dress that shade from Old Navy and I really need that cardigan. Green is my favorite color to wear. Have a great day!

How can she be turning one already ? so crazy! I LOVE that green color for fall, and it looks great on everyone. Fall is just the best! I loved getting a taste of it this morning with temps in the 50s! WHA?? Can’t wait to see what you put together for Z’s bday. if you need help, you know where to find me. 🙂

I love it! That’s tough about Gatlinburg. Pros and Cons! : / I keep wanting to catch up on Younger, but I haven’t gotten around to it. Excited to hear what you thought of those books. I feel off the budget wagon at Target.. hard. That green sweater is one I *almost* bought. It wouldn’t surprise me if I end up getting it next paycheck. LOL. It’s so cute and would go with pretty much everything! For Halloween we like to do pumpkins/the pumpkin patch, we get a lot of cider donuts at the farmer’s market in the fall, we have a Halloween party every year, and try to do fun decor/food if we can, and we always make a point to do costumes. Oh and of course watch Hocus Pocus! 🙂 I love trying to read/watch spookier or darker things all month long too. 🙂 XO – Alexandra

Oh Target does have some great stuff. My target is under construction so they don’t have much for clothing. I think I need to go visit another target. I too am so excited for fall. Mainly cause I love the cooler temps. Can’t wait for sweater weather.

I really need to make it into Target again – they really do have some cute things!

I hope you can make it to Gatlinburg. I want to go back – I haven’t been since I was a kid.

I really enjoyed Falling- hope you do too! Roanoke Girls is still on my list. I love the jewel tones of fall, especially that deep green! I think I need to check out Target, especially for cardigans. My favorite fall traditions are apple and pumpkin picking (including the hayride and hot cider), and celebrating Halloween. Smash cake pics are my favorite-they’re hysterical! Good luck planning her party!

Target is totally stepping up its game lately with their clothes… & shoes.
I say GO to Gatlinburg. Even if you have to mix it up & get a hotel… keep the tradition going. You wont regret being with family in that area for the holidays.

I still can’t believe that it’s already fall yet either! We had a cool front push through, and it’s actually deciding to feel like fall in Texas, and I love it! Hopefully it’ll stick around! And I can’t believe that it’s already time to start planning Zoe’s first birthday party and her 1 year pictures! I can’t wait to see what theme you decide on!

  • Reply SMD September 7, 2017 at 12:32 pm

I have that green sweater but in yellow and I LOVE it. I should get another.

Yess I love all of the jewel tones that come out this time of year! I can’t believe Zoe is almost one year, I can’t wait to see what theme you picked for her party. Going to the orchard is definitely my favorite fall tradition– and eating all the carmel things and watching hocus pocus, lol.

fall means poncho weather and i’m excited for that. i made a poncho last year but it took a while and by the time it was done, it was summer and i didn’t get a chance to wear it..but i do now!!

  • Reply Christina Mapes September 7, 2017 at 4:09 pm

I’m definitely seeing a fall theme on some of the posts from the link up. Haha! I’m right there with you. I’m done with summer. Roanoke Girls is so good, but so bad. I’m curious to see what you think once you finish it. I love Younger and Catastrophe and will definitely have to check out Young and Hungry!

I’m always trying to get books finished by the SUYB link-up (but then I find myself reading blogs at night instead of books). Those Target outfits are awesome. I snagged a pair of jeans and two tank tops at the ON sale over the weekend. I’m most excited about the jeans 🙂
I can’t believe Zoe is almost one!! I feel like you were JUST announcing your pregnancy!

Catastrophe is so funny and I find it amazing that they star, produced and wrote the show! Yes to younger – it’s the best and if you like that I think you might like bold type – the season just ended but you can watch the episodes on Freeform! xo,Biana-BlovedBoston
