Linking up with Kristen and Gretch for a little currently update!

Reading: Wish You Were Here by Renee Carlino. I couldn’t wait to dive in to this book. I loved Swear on this Life and Before We Were Strangers so much. I read half of this in one day and I cant wait to devour the other half as soon as possible!

Wish You Were Here

Watching: Chris and I just finished Mad Dogs from Amazon Prime. There were 10 episodes in the first season and it was really weird, but we were hooked and couldn’t quit. This show is about four forty year old friends that go to Belize to visit their friend from college and things take an unexpected turn quite quickly. There were drugs, lies, deception and murder it was quite interesting!!! Also, Chris mentioned that this show had the best color and picture quality and I really have to agree.

Now we are watching the last season of Bloodline.

Lusting:I have gone through and gotten rid of all my cheap costume jewelry that I never wear anymore. You know the stuff. The things I thought were cute at places like New York and Company over the years and purchased in masses and then it quickly faded from my mind and style.I am much more in to a few basic, good quality pieces that can be worn over and over throughout the years. Basically what I am doing with my wardrobe lately too.

This adjustable lariat necklace has been on my wish list for a long time. I have a cheaper silver one that I wear several times a week and am obsessed with, but it is not adjustable and I really want to pull the trigger on this one but the price tag is a little steep. Though, I know I would get my wear out of it based on how many times I said I wish I had that necklace when I get dressed in the morning. Let me know if you know of a less expensive option!

And while I am lusting over necklaces, I love this one to layer with the one above and a few other pieces that I wear regularly!

Cooking:Now that it is warming up outside, I am all about the cooler foods. Salads, pasta salads and lots of fruit. How amazing does this Greek tortellini pasta salad look?

Quick and easy Greek Tortellini Pasta Salad with zesty Greek lemon dressing, fresh veggies, and hearty tortellini pasta will be your go-to potluck and dinner side dish! | lecremedelacrumb.com:

Pinning: Since we have purchased sand colored furniture for our living room, I find myself obsessing over neutral tones all over the room. I am loving this pinspiration!

Planning: We have our annual beach trip coming up soon. I am so excited! I think Chris and I are both very deserving of a few days away. While I know that going to the beach with an infant isn’t really going to be all that relaxing…the beach is my favorite place on the planet and a few days of not having to work on top of everything else I have going on is going to be so wonderful!

With all that said, we are going to be needing some items to make the trip easier with a kiddo in tow. I know we need to get a beach tent for shade. I like the idea of something with some ventilation because it gets hot as fuck!!! I am looking at something like this

I know that we are going to need a wagon to tote all this stuff back and forth from our condo. And obviously beach towels, rash guard suits for the kiddo, sunscreen, a baby pool float and all that jazz. What other beach essentials do you recommend with a baby? We got every year so things like the tent and wagon are going to be great investments that we will use for years to come.

wagon – get the foldable ones…they are actually garden wagons from home depot. I’m not even kidding about this; all you need to do is lay extra towels or whatever on the bottom to make it more cushy but i promise you – you will not regret it. i wish i did that when kayla was little enough for a wagon. they save a ton of space in your trunk!

Oooh what I wouldn’t give for a beach trip right now!

Oooh beach vacation. And also pasta salad. YUM. I love pasta salad. It could probably be my #1 food of all time. hahahaha I hope that you get a good packing list going, I can’t imagine all you’ll need with a baby, but I’m sure you’ll figure it out and have a blast!! I haven’t watched any of those shows or read those books. I’ll have to give them a shot someday. We’ve been watching Riverdale – which is so teen drama, but fun. And then we watched Big Little Lies as well because I finally read/finished reading it last week. Up next is probably 13 reasons why. XO – Alexandra

I’ve been making so much greek salad lately, it’s just so good. No tortellinis because I don’t do cheese, but I do add in pasta shells or quinoa sometimes. So good for summer!

It’s so crazy how much stuff you have to bring to the beach with a baby! All the formula, beach things, extra pajamas, clothes. SO MUCH STUFF. You guys will still have a blast of course — getting to see the beach the first time through baby’s eyes is the best.

I am devastated that this is the last season of Bloodline and I’m saving all the episodes for when I’m by myself in June. We’re currently watching House of Cards and The Path (on Hulu).

That pasta salad looks amazing and I will scavaging around the internet this afternoon to find some gluten free tortellini

I am drooling over all of those pins. I am on a huge neutral kick and love the fresh look it brings. What I will say about those tents is just to make sure they have some sort of weight to it so they don’t blow away. My in-laws got one for us when A was a baby and if we didn’t have a bunch of bags and things in it it would get airborne.

We had one of those sun shades and it was awesome for the beach. Definitely nice to even crawl in there yourself or if Zoe falls asleep etc. I hope you have a great time!!! Life is always a little bit better at the beach 🙂 I second Kathy’s advice on the wagons that fold down, too!!
Looking forward to hearing what you thought of the new Renee Carlino book!

Mine always slept great at the beach but ugh… sand everywhere. I used to bring a pack and play and just set it up on the beach so they were up off the sand and completely corralled. Crawling babies and sand is no bueno. I don’t know if people use those anymore lol. Ummm yes to all the pasta salad I can shove in my face hole, except I am on a reset for 2 weeks so it’s gonna have to wait a minute. Boooooo

My niece has one of those. It’s great for the beach!

I added that salad to my lunch board!

Mmm that pasta salad! I usually make an italian version but need to switch it up and do Greek next!

Pasta, salads and fruit oh YES!!! I saw a great beach tent at Dick’s Sporting goods. Those living rooms have me drooling, you are giving me ideas!!!!

I forget about the shows on Amazon Prime… I need to check those out.
I love all the neutral colors that they all decorate with now. I want to redo my whole house to those blank colors… so classic looking.

I’m looking at getting a shell or tent for our beach trip, too. #PalePersonProblems Lol
Those pins are gorgeous. We’ve been looking at houses lately and, if we move, I’m determined to use Pinterest to style each room 🙂

I love the chandeliers in the living room pictures.
I got rid of a ton of cheap jewelry in the last few years…it’s almost falling under the category of clutter. I don’t keep clothes I don’t wear, so why keep the jewelry?

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family June 1, 2017 at 6:09 pm

That pasta salad looks AWESOME! I am checking out the recipe right now! 🙂

I hear you on finding yourself wearing more classic, timeless pieces when it comes to jewelry. I have a pair of pearl earrings that I wear nearly every day (even with casual outfits). Christopher got them for me for our first married Christmas and I think they are so pretty. 🙂

I love those neutral living rooms, they’re so calming. We’re choosing a new place to live at the moment (read: desperately refreshing apps hoping for a half decent rental to come up) and I’m dreaming it’ll be somewhere like that. It won’t, but I can dream, right?!

It’s not especially warm here but I’m definitely stuck for food ideas so thanks for the inspo! That salad looks delicious.

Yup, I think that I need to have that pasta salad. It looks delish. 🙂

    Have a nice weekend, girlie.

Oh how I wish my house looked like Pinterest! HA.

I am so glad you’re going on vacation and get some downtime. I would definitely need one of those shades though. I don’t do HEAT and sun! lol

I’ve never heard of Mad Dogs, but I’m adding it to my list! There are so many Amazon shows I have yet to get to. I also need to finish season 2 of Bloodline before I get into the new season. I’m bummed it’s already over.

  • Reply kristen June 7, 2017 at 12:36 pm
