Confessions

First things first, check out the new button!!!!

hey, hey, hey! ย it’s wednesday so we know what that means!

More Coffee Less Talky

We gotta change up the man candy from time to time, you know what I mean. So let’s get to confessing all of the things!

–I had a genius idea for a confessions post this week. It came to me when I was walking from the kitchen to the bedroom to get ready for work one morning. I thought to myself “Oh I should write this down.” Then I thought “Nah this is so good, ย I wont forget.” Guess what, I forgot. Like we are talking have no clue even remotely what it had to do with. #oldfartbrain

–On Monday morning I left early for work because I really wanted to get the rest of a project done and start the week off right. Everything was going fine until I merged on to I-20 and traffic was backed the fuck up for miles. Ughhhh. Why is this a weekly occurrence??? Accidents happen, but damn! I sat there and watched cars, once again, pass all of us on the shoulder and I started to really lose my shit. I literally screamed at the top of my lungs in my car for about a minute straight. It took me an hour and 28 minutes to get to the office. I just….I cant. And the reason why I am confessiong this is that I let it ruin my day. The rest of the day I was in a rancid mood. #fucktraffic #whodothesepeoplethinktheyare

–Have you ever been starving but literally in the mood for nothing? That was me on Saturday. We ended up eating cheap Mexican because neither of us were feeling anything and you can’t go wrong with Mexican. It was raining and no one has time to drive downtown in that nasty weather. #indecisive

–Speaking of food confessions, I souped myself out. I have literally had some version soup/chili for lunch nearly every week since like November. This week I sat and tried to think what I wanted instead and couldn’t come up with much. I hate heating meat up in a microwave so my options are limited. What’s your favorite thing for lunch? And I don’t want to hear salad. I eat enough of those for dinners! I try to remain mostly paleo during the week so its hard. #lunchrut

–I stopped at Dunkin Donuts on Friday on my way to work for an everything bagel with cream cheese because one of my ahole bros who I wont call out right now (girlfriend knows who she is) simply stated that she had a bagel for breakfast and that was all I could think about. I hadn’t had a bagel in forever. I would love to say that it was awful and I couldn’t finish it, but I don’t lie. #butcarbs

That first confession… I do that ALL the time. I’m terrible about it. I tell myself to jot it down, put it in notes in my phone, something…but more often than not, some wonderful confession has flown through my head and out my ear! I’m rolling into autumn soon. I think I’m going to need some of those soup recipes. I realllllly need to start eating healthier. I loved that chili with sweet potatoes, and that will be used regularly.

I’ll be honest… I have no idea what fits into paleo and what doesn’t, but here’s some of my favorite lunches. I try to go with a good carb/protein combo with veggies (usually a salad, since I cook veggies at dinner) that hits at around 250 calories. (I eat six times a day instead of three, so smaller meals for me.) And since I’m usually running around like a chicken with my head cut off, grab-and-go is a big plus. 1. Smoothie. I have three different kinds that I make. The first is a chocolate-banana with chocolate protein powder and a banana. The second is a chocolate & strawberry– same concept except with strawberries, and I tend to mix espresso into this one. The third is a dreamsicle smoothie. I use orange slices and vanilla Greek yogurt. 2. Sandwich or wrap. I already told you about how I do salsa chicken/pork/beef to have lots on hand. I’ll toss that on slices of whole wheat bread or in a wrap or on a salad. 3. Veggie burger. I can heat these up in a minute or two and toss it on a bun and go.

See, this is why I have notes about my notes because I forget every single stinking thing! The notepad on my iPhone is literally one of my best friends, especially since I can talk out the note and pray spellcheck gets it right, LOL! Oh man, now I want to bagel, and I already passed the Dunkin’ Donuts, I haven’t had one in two years I’m going to have one just because Nadine did, LOL! Have a wonderful Wednesday

I am so in a rut with food right now. I have not been planning or prepping enough and yes… hungry but nothing sounds good. My favorite thing for lunch is some sort of casserole type dish. The Paleomg Buffalo Chicken on is the bomb!

  • Reply Lindsay Latimer March 16, 2016 at 8:55 am

Lunch is the hardest for me. Currently I’m doing shredded chicken with roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I struggle to eat meat, but do better when I can mix it with veggies. ๐Ÿ˜‰ girl I got caught in similar traffic this morning and I’ve been such a bitch. It happens! Hope you have a great day!

  • Reply Kelli March 16, 2016 at 9:08 am

If I don’t write ideas down they disappear even if they are good. I have gotten up in the middle of the night to write crap down so I won’t forget it. Haha

  • Reply marie March 16, 2016 at 9:28 am

I’m totally wiht you on the first confession. I did the exact same thing the other day. I still can’t remember what it was either. So annoying. OOh a bagel sounds good. I can’t wait for Lent to be over so I can have some bread!

  • Reply Cara March 16, 2016 at 9:38 am

Love the change up of the man-candy! I definitely have days where I’m starving but nothing seems appealing. I then end up eating something super basic and regretting it later when I have a craving for something else “better”.-haha

  • Reply Kate @ Green Fashionista March 16, 2016 at 9:55 am

There is nothing worse than traffic, because there is absolutely nothing you can do about it! I’ve had blog ideas come to me at the most random times, and to this day there are so many that have flown away from my brain never to return. That bagel sounds delish, and you are now passing on the torch ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Reply emelia March 16, 2016 at 10:19 am

Ughhh I couldn’t imagine sitting in traffic that long. My drive to work is 7 minutes and I’m not sure I could handle traffic…I have extreme road rage, LOL!

  • Reply Jessica @ Pleas(e) & Carrots March 16, 2016 at 10:42 am

Ugh traffic is the worst, I get irrationally angry even though that doesn’t help things. I’m at my worst in the car, definitely. And ugh lunch ruts are the worst!

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis March 16, 2016 at 11:23 am

That was me this morning yelling at everyone in traffic and at the guy driving 20 mph in a 40 zone…ugh the same things happens to me with forgetting great ideas that come to mind and same thing happens with my dreams. I can never remember them.

  • Reply Rebecca Jo March 16, 2016 at 11:44 am

“Souped yourself out” – that’s a rare sentence ever heard ๐Ÿ™‚
I hate when I forget things. I even forget when I go to write it down so I dont forget – that’s bad
I do that all the time – NOTHING sounds good to me anymore. But ALWAYS hungry. GRRR!

  • Reply Tricia Coniglio March 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm

I either want nothing or everything when I get to that point of hunger!!! And it seems like I can NEVER remember all the good stuff I thought I wanted earlier that week.
I always think of amazing ideas that I just *won’t* forget because it is THAT amazing…. only to forget.

  • Reply kathy @ more coffee, less talky March 16, 2016 at 1:08 pm

thank god that it’s not only me!! i always get great ideas for blog posts and then when i’m ready to write — i come up with blanks. rage.

  • Reply Ashley @ The Wandering Weekenders March 16, 2016 at 2:02 pm

That seriously happens to me all the time, I come up with a great idea for a post and then I forget about it! My friend got me a really cute notebook for writing this stuff down, but I don’t carry it with me that much. It’s so bad! I don’t think that I could handle it if I had to drive into work everyday. I would have road rage so incredibly bad! Thank goodness for public transportation!

  • Reply Erin LFF March 16, 2016 at 2:31 pm

Omg everything bagels are my weakness. And this pregnant girl will not be able to stop thinking about them until I get one now!! HAHA- DARN YOU!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Reply Jana @ Jana Says March 16, 2016 at 4:37 pm

Number 1. All. The. Time. It’s why I have paper and pens literally everywhere. EVERYWHERE. If I don’t write it down, it doesn’t exist.

Working from home, I have it easier for lunch. I can cook if I need to. But the husband takes all the leftovers and when I worked in an office, I ate a lot of sandwiches. Doesn’t help for paleo eating, though…

  • Reply Dani March 16, 2016 at 4:55 pm

LOVE the new man candy! (Especially since I didn’t know who the other guy was lol.) I’ve been in a food rut for a while now, and where I’m not in the mood for anything. Can’t go wrong with Mexican though! I am no help for your lunches, as I typically eat sandwiches like it’s my job. That patience e-card- LOL. Happy Wednesday!

  • Reply alyssa March 16, 2016 at 5:35 pm

OMG, that Pinterest ecard is so true! I love it. And douchebumps, haha! I’ll have to remember that.

  • Reply Jessi March 16, 2016 at 6:09 pm

New man! Yes! Ugh, and here you’re talking about cheap Mexican and we gave up Mexican for lent! Whyyyy do you do this, so good and happening on Easter.

  • Reply Laura @ Life with Lolo March 16, 2016 at 11:05 pm

I do that all the freaking time with confessions. I think of something I’m going to share, then don’t write it down and “poof” it’s gone like 10 minutes later. As for the lunch issue, what about loaded potatoes? You can stuff them with veggies, meat, anything and they are yummy. I also do “taco bowls” with cauliflower rice. But let’s not kid ourselves I haven’t really stuck to paleo in a while – those were the things I did when I was though!

  • Reply ellesees.net March 17, 2016 at 8:04 am

girl, sometimes you need the carbs. no shame! i bet it was amazing. i’ve been that way too, where i can’t decide what i want bc i’m too hungry! i get hangry!

  • Reply Biana @ Blovedboston March 17, 2016 at 8:42 am

When I’m so hungry, nothing sounds good to me and it’s even worse when Gary is just as hungry because we can’t agree on a thing to eat lol! Bagels are amazing and nothing to be sad about lol! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

  • Reply Laura March 17, 2016 at 9:29 am

OMG HAHAHAH! DOUCHEBUMPS!!! Bagels are my jam – I get the little mini ones and have one or two with breakfast, and it is awesome. Let me know what you decide to do for lunches, because I need some new inspiration, myself. Sorry, you know I’m usually zero help.

  • Reply B @ Sequin Notebook March 17, 2016 at 1:16 pm

Ugh I never remember anything either, it’s this 30-something aging brain!! And I wish I had a lunch rec for you but I basically eat soup every single day of my life.

  • Reply Jackie @ My Sort Of Adult Life March 17, 2016 at 8:01 pm

Why is it whenever you leave early for work that traffic is THE WORST!?!? That brought up some rage because it’s all too familiar lol

  • Reply Rach @ This Italian Family March 18, 2016 at 4:49 pm

Uuugh, I do that all the time (#1). I’m not sure when I got so old, ha!

Lunch this week has been sandwiches. That’s about as boring as you get, haha!

  • Reply kristen March 21, 2016 at 12:49 pm

bahahahahaha you LOVED that bagel don’t lie ๐Ÿ™‚
i feel you on soup and shit. i just had tuna/chickpeas/corn with a dash of mayo, that’s one of my go-to lunches even though it sounds super weird. if you find any new shit, let me know as i’m always in a lunch rut haha. i don’t like to reheat meat either, it never tastes as good.
