Confessions

It is Confession day!!! Time to sack up and spill all your secrets with Kathy and I!!!

–I hate dealing with adult things like calling insurance companies, setting up service to be done, asking for people to do their damn jobs basically. I usually am too nice and let people walk all over me. I got so angry this week over a situation that I let someone have it on the phone. It. Felt. Awesome. No more Ms Nice Nadine. #dontfuckwithmeandmymoney

–Football fans do weird shit. During the 4th quarter of the championship game I was running in place to get some steps in when we scored a touchdown therefore every time we got in the red zone or had a big play I would start running in place. It worked, we kicked ass 4th quarter and pulled out the W!!! #dontjinxit

–Speaking of game day traditions, I have to have “Roll Tide Roll” as my Facebook status during a game. I might not post anything for a month on Facebook besides that but the minute I see we are doing poorly I am like…oh shit, is my status up there??? #rituals #itsnotweirdifitworks

–There is an apartment complex being built near my office. Every day when they start banging on what sounds like metal on metal…I want to blow my brains out. It is the most horrid of distracting noises and we are going on a week of nonstop insanity with it. #pleasestop #imtryingtowork

–When I get upset, mad or angry I clean. #burnoffnerves

–Do you ever sit and wonder where on earth some people’s money comes from? This goes for real life and blogging. How do fashion bloggers have on a different $200+ outfit every single day? Where are they getting their money to pay for all this expensive shit they are constantly sharing? #butreally

–I may or may not have already decided what I am doing with all the money when I win the lottery. #believeitachieveit

–I went to pick up my rental car last night while mine is being fixed and I literally laughed when they pulled it up. Its a bright red VW bug. The guy got out and was like you like? I was like no really, where’s my rental?!?! Sure enough joke was on me. #punchbug #feelslikedrivingaclowncar

Lol the “what?!” thing is so me, all the time. I’m always trying to figure out what the person said. I wonder that about fashion bloggers all the time. Like how do they do that?!? Are all their clothes sponsored or what? I don’t know what their secret is, but I wish I had their closet of clothes to work with. Good for you for standing up for yourself against those money hungry companies. They can be shiesty!

  • Reply Myra January 13, 2016 at 3:04 am

Lol, I legit don’t understand how so many bloggers have SO much dough to spend on everything. I’m over here wearing the same shirt from like 4 days ago, while they have on a FULL new outfit…every.single.day. And I totally need a pic of your bright red buggy car because seriously, too good.

  • Reply ellesees.net January 13, 2016 at 7:07 am

they take it back to the store and return it. seriously, i have heard many bloggers talk all about it.i was shocked. and many of them get free or sponsored stuff. this isn’t the case for every style blogger, but it really does happen.
i am currently wearing a tshirt from 1994 lol.

that was a really good game–but i knew AL would pull it out in the end. i swear they always do that!

Last night I had a really long dream about what my life will be like after I win the lottery, apparently my asleep self really wants to win as well. I’m dying over your alabama rituals for the game. A couple years ago my mom had some Auburn gloves that she wore during every game because she thought they were good luck, so I don’t judge you.

  • Reply Andrea @ Living On Cloud Nine January 13, 2016 at 8:42 am

Ahh my morning confession fix, I needed it!! I do not judge anthing football related at all!! I totally get it!! Red bug cutie!! I cannot see you in June but I bet you look adorable in it!! I do not take the clothes back I wear in my fashion posts and no way could I do a fashion post everyday. Plus, I pull crap from my closet from 10-2o years ago and well, prices at Target can’t be beat. When I click in a purse and its $765, I admire, but click off. I hate adult issues too and insurance companies are the worst, you cannot be nice or they will walk all over us. No way Jose. Hope this is a great day girl!!

whenever i call companies to complain about something, i’m all sugar and sweet because i find that they’re more receptive to that but if i need to (ie. if the agent is rude as fuck), i will go in guns blazing!

  • Reply Jenna January 13, 2016 at 9:42 am

I can somewhat answer this question, at least for me…

I do reviews on a lot of products that I either get in sample boxes or happen to be purchasing anyway, but I’ve also had companies send me stuff to try and review. You can often email a company and request this. Sometimes they send stuff for review. Sometimes they don’t.

This works in every industry, including fashion and video games. Companies will often send out clothes or games for promotion and review. Sometimes it’s solicited by the blogger. Sometimes it’s not. Sometimes the blogger is bein paid. (I do have a paid/sponsored rate, but nodody has taken me up on it yet. Even so, I don’t give positive reviews in exchange for compensation. All opinions are always my own.)

Hope that sheds some light on it. There are a ton of articles out there, but you do get lost in information overload.

Ahhh we had a big construction project near our office not too long ago. That first part when they’re pounding in the metal is the worst! Worst sound in the world! Also, I have no idea how people afford these fancy clothes. I just pretend they’re in a lot of debt.

  • Reply Jana @ Jana Says January 13, 2016 at 9:54 am

I don’t get the outfit thing either but I know a bunch of people who make shit tons of money on their blogs and they claim to have secrets but I know what a lot of those secrets are and honestly, I don’t want to work that hard. I like books and sleeping and Netflix too much.

I, too, am a shitty, shitty artist. #dontevencare

  • Reply Jessi January 13, 2016 at 10:15 am

Ha-ha always believe in the weird football rituals that pull your team to victory. They’ll never die.

  • Reply Amy January 13, 2016 at 10:17 am

I don’t think I could drive a VW bug lol. I do wonder where the money comes from. But just know that the big bloggers get tons of shit for free… I mean tons. I shop sales at Old navy and use coupons:)

  • Reply Rebecca Jo January 13, 2016 at 11:17 am

I would be giddy with a VWBug – I’ve always wanted to drive one 🙂

I’m the same way trying to figure out how people buy the things they do or have the lifestyle they have. I may or may not be a little jealous over it too

  • Reply SMD @ Life According to Steph January 13, 2016 at 11:24 am

Cleaning is a good way to burn off energy for me – good or bad!

  • Reply Laura January 13, 2016 at 11:32 am

The entire season of 2010 when AU won, we had chick-fil-a breakfast for EVERY SINGLE GAME. We did it for the first two, and then were like, if we don’t do it, they’ll lose! We even did it out in AZ for the game! Rituals are too fun!! ALSO, I want a pic of you in the punch buggy. Too cute!! And I’m always like, Whaaaat, even if I do hear you, because a girls’ gotta collect her thoughts yo.

  • Reply Jackie Hogston January 13, 2016 at 11:34 am

LOL my to-do list is always part fiction! I hate adult issues too, especially phone calls! I hate talking on the phone!

  • Reply Amy @ Getz Girl on Fire January 13, 2016 at 11:37 am

Yes to all the above . . . except the football stuff because I didn’t go to a school with a team! And useless noise sends me into a tizzy . . . even my kids will tell people to cut the useless noise now. Ha! Fun link up – glad I joined!

  • Reply Stephanie January 13, 2016 at 11:50 am

I pretty much start every call with a service company with ‘I know it’s not your fault, but you’re the one who answered the phone so…’ and then proceed to be an asshole. I have never gotten a company to do their job by being nice. I always have to resort to mean Stephanie. Which is fine, I’m better at it, but still. I’m not asking for anything crazy. Like, I pay for internet, IT SHOULD WORK. That’s the sole basis of why I’m paying you. Ridic.

  • Reply Tracie January 13, 2016 at 11:52 am

I secretly think that all the people wearing brand new Louis handbags and Tory Burch shoes are all married to rich men– like Ericka on the Real Housewives of BH. She flat out says, my hubs buys me nice things all the time. I want my hubs to do that. Or at least nice food all the time.

  • Reply Heather January 13, 2016 at 1:07 pm

I wish I cleaned but I tend to revert into a book and live somebody else’s life. Haha, to do lists why can’t they just be done?!

  • Reply Teh Megan January 13, 2016 at 1:10 pm

    I’m a cleaner when I get angry/upset, too.
I’m too poor and of poor fashion taste to do outfit posts. Also, I’ve been wearing mostly the same clothes for the last year to work because #poor and what I have works.

  • Reply kristen January 13, 2016 at 1:16 pm

hahaha i reckon most of the big fashion bloggers get a lot of their stuff for free, and then they buy stuff on top of that. bitches be rolling in it. that’s why my favourite fashion bloggers are more about real life / rewearing stuff because i can actually relate to it.

  • Reply Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis January 13, 2016 at 1:31 pm

LOL I can just picture you driving around in a red VW bug! Too funny! I wonder the same thing about some people and where their money comes from when they never seem to be working.

  • Reply Laura @ Life with Lolo January 13, 2016 at 1:49 pm

Angry and sad cleaning for the win! I do that too. And I hate making grown up calls also. Why can’t mom and dad still take care of that stuff and I just act like I don’t have to pay bills or be a grown up. That would be fantastic. I don’t know where people get their money either and usually I find it infuriating. Sometimes I even wonder it about my own friends. Like how do you pay for a new car, doggy daycare and multiple trips a year? I don’t get it. Sorry to hear about the bug but like Emily, it gives me giggles to think about you driving around town in it. Just own it haha!

  • Reply Staci January 13, 2016 at 3:01 pm

lol lol lol. Love that last one. “Nothing ruins a Friday like realizing it’s only Wednesday.” So true.

I ALWAYS wonder where people get there money. How? Why? Where? When?

Adulting seriously sucks sometimes! I totally try to push off some of the big ticket items like dealing with the cable or insurance companies to my husband because I just don’t want to deal with them. How do fashion bloggers have all of those amazing designer outfits??? I know that they get some of them for free, but seriously, how do they have that much money? And I don’t think that it’s possible for football fans to not do crazy things, that’s just part of being a football fan!

  • Reply Dani January 13, 2016 at 3:42 pm

I had a friend who was let go from her job and for four YEARS she wasn’t even looking for a new job, she was just chillin and doing some volunteering and charity work. She also lives alone and would come out with us whenever we made dinner plans and was buying a bunch of expensive stuff and I was just like… “But HOW??” but that’s not polite so I didn’t ask.

If I found running in place would help my team win, I’d be running my little tush off! Whatever works!!

  • Reply Kate @ Green Fashionista January 13, 2016 at 4:28 pm

I’ve always wondered that about fashion bloggers, which is why I don’t follow any of the bigger names because I can’t relate to any of it or afford to buy most of it so why bother even looking at it. I rewear most of my accessories in my posts, and sometimes re-work old pieces. Plus most of my stuff is from Target/F21/ON/Express which is affordable for us every day peeps. I imagine they get a lot of the stuff for free, but they had to build an empire first to get noticed so at some point they were buying all of it themselves.

I once owned a convertible “Aquarius Blue” VW beetle. I miss it. I’d be ecstatic if my rental car was a bug 🙂 Sports rituals are fun(ny)…but I agree with you, if it works, use it. Unfortunately, mine don’t work and my teams aren’t winners.

  • Reply Cara January 13, 2016 at 4:45 pm

I’m definitely an “angry cleaner”. Anytime my husband irritates me you can always find me cleaning the house spic and span-haha. And I totally have the same question you do with the fashion bloggers out there who have on different outfits everyday that cost more than my entire wardrobe. I’m a clearance shopper for sure, and I don’t even try to be shy about it. 🙂

  • Reply Kerry January 13, 2016 at 8:49 pm

I totally clean or bake when i am stressed it give you something else to focus on.

  • Reply Jessica @ Pleas(e) & Carrots January 13, 2016 at 9:24 pm

I always wonder where people get their money too, must be nice!! And man, I wish I was an angry cleaner!

  • Reply Tracy January 13, 2016 at 10:06 pm

Woo you go! I’m always too nice too but every now and then I’m like no, this is your job, fix it! Feels good.
You’re going to think I’m a freak, but I knew Alabama and Clemson were playing the other night, just didn’t really think much of it (not a huge football fan unless it’s Hokie football tbh). So Ben had the game on as it was about to start, and I happened to look up and see championship on th screen, and I said, “What championship is this?” A second later when I saw the word national in front…,”The NATIONAL championship?! OMG!” I genuinely had no idea and Ben made fun of me the rest of the night haha.
I just assume the answer to where people get money is credit card debt, tbh :/ I mean, I guess you never know someone’s finances, but….yeah. I wonder the same thing.
For some reason your ecards this week make me think we would get along really well IRL haha. Hope you’re having a great week!

  • Reply Megan January 13, 2016 at 10:36 pm

I’ve always wondered that about fashion bloggers. I would love to have their closet too! And I am totally with you on the angry cleaning. I do the same thing whenever I’m irritated/upset or just stressed out. Can you wear headphones at work? I would be blasting music the entire time they were working!

  • Reply katie January 14, 2016 at 11:45 am

That’s awesome that you clean when you are upset or angry…I shop and eat. Not good haha! I always assume those rich people come from wealthy families….what else could it be?!?! Oh the lottery…someone won a million dollar ticket here in Lancaster…at a convenience store I pass three times a week. Why wasn’t it meeeeeee boo!

  • Reply Mattie January 14, 2016 at 5:52 pm

I have SO MUCH rage right now. People at work are just really getting on my nerves and I need to get out of here before I blow up on someone! Hahaha. Why can’t it be Friday today???

Michael has a bunch of weird football superstitions too. He will wear the exact same thing he was wearing when they won, but if they’re doing poorly, he’ll switch jerseys. Once he seriously told me I needed to wear the exact same thing I wore the week before. Ha.

OH MY GOSH 98% of the time when I say, “what?” I realize what they said right after. It’s so annoying.
