Confessions

–I really wanted to put up our tree this past Sunday, but it was raining and we keep our tree in the garage in a box. I like to do a thorough spider check before bringing it in and that can’t really happen in the rain.

–I am pissed about so many stores opening at 6 pm Thanksgiving day. Can we please move it back to 4 am Friday morning? Pretty please? I am obviously not missing all the delicious foods and my family because retailers are ridiculous!

–The fact that it is 19 degrees this morning and will be in the 70’s in Houston this weekend is going to confuse the shit out of my body. Please don’t get sick on me now! Too much to do for that nonsense!

–My sister sent me the sweetest letter over the weekend with Cooper’s fall picture in it. 🙂 It made me all sentimental about fun snail mail. I also thought it was super sweet that she sent it to me instead of just waiting until the next time she saw me. She is always so thoughtful!

–There were some people in the break room complaining about Magic 96.5 playing Christmas music all this month…I secretly sat there and thought in my head….I know! I LOVE IT! It has been playing nonstop in my car. Muh ha ha.

–I saw this on Pinterest and instantly started planning which colored sprinkles I wanted and all the glitter I could add to it! Maybe my craftiness is coming back?

–Tomorrow is my Friday. Don’t hate, appreciate! Yeah, I am trying to bring that saying back….

Happy Thursday to you! A short week is always a good week.

There is no in-between! I do this all the time and I think I burn myself out with the frantic “get stuff done” mindset, which necessitates a break from all responsibilities.

I like some Christmas music. I’m not a huge fan of newer adaptations of old carols; I’d rather just hear the traditional versions. So Christmas music on the radio doesn’t bother me in the sense that it’s “too early” (who cares if Christmas swallows up Thanksgiving? Holiday time is fun no matter which one you’re thinking about.), just that some of the songs are annoying. Like Santa Baby in that really high, nasal-y voice. *shudder*

It makes me mad that stores are opening on Thanksgiving too! I used to work retail and it was bad enough having to get there at the butt crack of dawn on Black Friday, I can’t imagine how much it would suck to have to leave your family to go to work on Thanksgiving Day!

Aww, that’s so sweet about your sister sending a letter! I miss Snail Mail!

I’m pretty disappointed that furry creatures aren’t coming to help me clean my house too. Biggest letdown ever.

I love all the Christmas music! My boyfriend hates it. Hah. 🙂 Ugh. Texas weather is so fickle. It can never decide whether it actually wants to be winter. lol

Yay for a short week. Today is my Friday as well. So excited to have three days off in a row! That like never happens. Enjoy your time off.

OOOOH colored sprinkle balls – – those are really cute –

Also: Can we just talk about Thanksgiving 6p retail stupidity for just a quick sec, k? WTH ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING? HOW RUDE ARE THEY TO MAKE PEOPLE WORK ON A DAY ABOUT GIVING AND FAMILY AND UNITY? I swear on all that is holy, that I hope that the corporate types that have these BRILLIANT (read: bat$#!t crazy) IDEAS trip on a banana peel and get a hanger stuck up their bummmmmmmm. Rant over.

Next Tuesday – is my Friday next week – so I won’t hate you today, if you don’t hate me then. 5 day weekend WHAAAAAAAT?!?!?!

And I giggled HARD at the meme about growing up.

And come on forest animals – CLEAN MY HOUSE!

  • Reply kristen November 19, 2014 at 10:17 am

jealous that your tomorrow is friday.
its so funny what people get mad at – you’re mad that the stores are open, other people are mad about the christmas music.. i’m over here like who cares about thanksgiving? haha not me. but i’m obviously in the minority 😉

So about confusing weather: Monday it was 84. Tuesday it was 42. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be 80. Aka I’m dying over here.

you lucky bitch. i wish it were my thursday too! my weather has been sucking all kinds of ass lately but at least i’m not in buffalo who are suffocating under a thick ass blanket of snow!

  • Reply Jana @ Jana Says November 19, 2014 at 11:11 am

    Sprinkle balls. They’re happening.

HOORAY for short weeks! BOO for cold weather! HOORAY for snail mail! BOO for too early Christmas music (I know you like it but it’s too damn soon)!

We do a spider check, too. Because a spider in the tree is a quick way for me to set the tree on fire.

Gotta love a short week. I am so mad about the stores opening up, people should be able to spend it with their families. Those ornaments are really pretty.

  • Reply Laura November 19, 2014 at 12:54 pm

Ummm, I so want to come over and make those sparkly glitter things with you! And I see nothing wrong with holiday spirit a little early….says the other one who has also been listening already!

  • Reply Lindsay @ Broke and Bougie November 19, 2014 at 1:07 pm

Tomorrow is my Friday too! WOOP!

  • Reply Pamela @ A Little Glitter November 19, 2014 at 2:28 pm

I totally agree about Thanksgiving Black Friday confusion. I am NOT a fan and I will not shop on Thanksgiving. It is the one holiday that is not about commercialism and I am not letting them ruin it for me.

  • Reply Erin LFF November 19, 2014 at 3:40 pm

That Koala ecard is one of my faves! I’ve passed that around a few times lol! Our tree had to get a spider check too, as we keep it in our garage- she’s officially up and lit though! Also, I freakin’ love snail mail. I need to send more of it!

  • Reply Ashley November 19, 2014 at 4:02 pm

OMG I hate that the stores are opening on Thanksgiving Day..it is ridiculous! I mean what is the point of it being called BLACK FRIDAY if they open on Thanksgiving Thursday.

  • Reply alyssa November 19, 2014 at 4:22 pm

I’m so with you on the Black Friday/Thanksgiving thing. It just sucks that the people who work in those stores have to give up even more time with their loved ones. And even if they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving anyway, I dunno, I think there should just be ONE day a year where it isn’t about buying more stuff or going to work or whatever. Is nothing sacred anymore? End old lady rant.

  • Reply Nadine November 19, 2014 at 5:11 pm

Completely agree about black Friday sales! I used to love black Friday morning shopping. There was something so fun about shopping that early, and then napping. I really hope retailers lose money this year, and push that shit back!

  • Reply Joey November 19, 2014 at 6:50 pm

I got busted rockin’ out to xmas music earlier today–i don’t even care. It makes my heart happy. Whatever. And yeah–I didn’t change–I GREW UP! Great ecard! hah

  • Reply Krystal November 19, 2014 at 8:57 pm

hahah those funnies!!! That is my face when Im eating a salad and someone is eating ANYTHING BUT A FREAKING SALAD! 🙂

  • Reply Amanda November 19, 2014 at 9:17 pm

We have a station playing all Christmas music, too. At first I was annoyed… but now I find myself be-bopping to it all damn day! It perks you up!
NOT a fan of stores being open on Thanksgiving. It’s just ridiculous. So greedy.

  • Reply Allison November 20, 2014 at 7:22 pm

Agreed… it’s so weird that places are opening soo early on Thanksgiving DAY! It’s no longer Black Friday if they do that!

  • Reply Teh Megan November 20, 2014 at 8:08 pm

Oh, you remember when black FRIDAY was on Friday too?
As a Target employee, it was a FML situation.

  • Reply Kelli November 21, 2014 at 11:05 am

I’ve got to make it through Thanksgiving before I can think about Christmas, but once it’s 11/26 I’m all Christmas all the time until 12/26. 🙂

  • Reply Kate November 24, 2014 at 3:32 pm

Once Thanksgiving is over, I’m totally okay with all Christmas all the time- especially made for TV movies.
