confessions

Confessions

–Even though Kathy has put an end to the best link up there ever was, I am going to continue to confess. Confessions are good for the soul. Or something like that.

–This is the second time writing this post. The first time I was almost finished and WordPress freaked out and I didn’t have anything saved. Wonderful.

–I was really proud of myself Friday. My coworkers went to Jack Brown’s for burgers and fries and I stuck with my plan to go to Whole Foods for brown rice sushi. Turning down burgers, who am I??

–This week is just awful. My Monday was so bad that it spilled in to Tuesday when I left the delicious turkey chili I made Monday evening out on the stove to cool and forgot to put it up before I went to bed. I woke up Tuesday morning and noticed instantly. FAIL!!!!!! I am still pissed about it.

–It’ official. I have old ears. The music was so loud at the party Saturday night that I lost hearing in my right ear. It came back around noonish on Sunday along with a major headache. #hagstatus

–I have been horrible about blogging lately. I need to get my life together and get some posts drafted!

–I am more excited about Disney on Ice on Friday than I think my nephew is who asked me to chaperon his class. I will probably spend the next two days deciding what I am going to wear with my Mickey crown. 🙂

hahahahah! thanks for the shoutout lady! i was kinda sad to put the linkup to rest but it was becoming more of a chore to rush and get a post ready for wednesday without fail when i can’t even get my life together these days!

and girllllll, i feel you on leaving shit out overnight that it’s ruined – ain’t nothing worse than leaving out a BAG OF ORGANIC CHICKEN THAT COST YOU $24 to defrost for a few hours and then waking up in the morning 12hrs later to find it warm and in a sea of slimy watery bacteria infested defrosted chicken juice #RAGE.

Sorry to hear that your week has been difficult. Hope the rest of the week goes better. I would be so excited to see Disney on Ice!! How fun!!

OMG I leave food out by accident ALL THE FREAKING TIME and I HATE IT!!!! UGH! I’m officially old, too. I was walking home from the coffee shop the other night (through campus) and these dingleberries were riding skateboards. To be funny, one decided he was going to skate almost right up to me before swerving out of the way. I was on the phone with my mom having a pretty serious conversation and I literally pulled the phone away from my ear, stared the kid down and growled, EXCUSE ME! Oh man. I’m old.

I’ve totally pulled the turkey chili move before. Such a day ruiner!

Disney on ice – how fun!!! I’ve left food out with every intention of moving it before bed and forgetting – just the worst!! Muffin cake = pound cake, too funny!

I also have old ears. I avoid going to bars or restaurants that I know play loud music. We have a restaurant in Minneapolis that has a live band at almost all times of the day. Even at breakfast. My parents wanted to go dinner there last weekend, and I was the old person in the group bitching about how loud it would be!

Oh my gosh. I have done that. Left the slow cooker deliciousness out to cool, forgotten about it and then had to trash the WHOLE DAMN POT of awesome chicken soup you made and smelled and didn’t eat. I am still a little bitter about it, too.

I have left food out too before. Hate when that happens. Go you, one choosing the healthier option. The last e-card is freaking hilarious!

I was reading your post in Feedly and I almost thought I was reading my own post because my first “confession” was about the ended linkup too.

I carry earplugs with me all the time. I’m such an old person. 1. The BF likes to listen to music OBNOXIOUSLY loud, so I just put in earplugs and we’re both happy. 2. If I’m not sleeping in my bed (which always has earplugs on standby), I can’t sleep if there’s weird noises. 3. Some music is just better with earplugs.

I’m glad I start work tomorrow so I can actually eat my leftovers for lunch instead of succumbing to the BFs temptation to eat out on the regular. I’ve gained 5-8 lbs since I moved in with him and I know he’s gained weight too, but he’s not telling me. Boys.

Oh my gosh, I have totally done the leaving the food out thing, it’s SO frustrating! I feel like I’m taking a big wad of cash and just throwing it in the trash.

I have been so bad about blogging too, the last couple of days I wrote both blog posts in the 15 minutes before I hit publish, so obviously my blog planning skills are stellar. 😉

    Disney on Ice! So fun!

  • Reply tricia congilio October 29, 2014 at 8:53 pm

I’ve done that with leaving stuff out overnight but I have an iron stomach and did the smell test as well as a little bite test. If it smells and tastes good, I eat it. I justify it by saying my house is usually pretty cool.

LOL! I used to drive around town with the radio blaring. Have it blasted in the house while getting ready for work or cleaning to go out. Now, I like to have it at a decent decibel and if it’s a really good song then I turn it up but not blare it. geesh, getting old isn’t as fun.

  • Reply Jackie October 29, 2014 at 10:47 pm

I will do confessions with you on Wednesday! I’m so glad that your hearing came back. I’ve always hated loud music.

  • Reply Amanda Elizabeth October 29, 2014 at 11:24 pm

Can I tell you I totally did that one time with a crockpot meal and then I didn’t want Mark to find it before me in the morning so I quickly put it in tupperware and brought it to work and then eventually threw it away because I didn’t want that one to be used against me in the court of law 😉

  • Reply Amanda October 30, 2014 at 12:13 am

I LEFT FOOD OUT TOO!!!!!!!!! I was so excited to eat it for my lunch the next day… woke up the next morning and saw that I’d left it out on the counter uncovered all night. WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?!

  • Reply Kate October 30, 2014 at 2:01 pm

I wish I had nephews or nieces who I could use as excuses to do fun things like Disney on Ice! Have fun!
