11 Answer You’re Dying to Know

I was tagged by Julia to answer some questions. I love reading random facts about all of you, so I figured why not?!

1. If you could up and go to anywhere in the world for the rest of the day, where would you go, who be your travel buddy, and what would you see/do there?

Disney World. Duh! With Chris of course. I would be acting like a five year old, wearing all the Disney Gear and basking in the awesomeness.

2. You’ve just had an insanely ridiculously tiring and stressful day at school/work/blogging. Top 3 ways to de-stress?

1. Binge watch TV

2. Read a book

3. Shopping

3. Who do you think are the two most influential (guy and girl!) people in the world today?

Hmm this one is a tough one for me, as I usually am not easily influenced or amused by celebrities or “famous people.” Unfortunately, I think that who has the most influence today has shifted from people that are doing extraordinary things to people that do little good. The Miley Cyrus and Justin Biebers of the world are who kids look up to these days, and I find that sad.

4. What song best fits your personality?

Just one song? Are you nuts?! I would probably say Shake it Off by Taylor Swift. There is more to me than what meets the surface, and I try to shake things off the best I can.

5. If you could re-name yourself today, what would it be?

I woudn’t. When I was a child, there was a time where I would have given anything to have a “normal” popular name so that I could have it on pencils and books bags and all that fun stuff, but as I got older, I really appreciated that my name is different. Even if the people at Starbucks never get it right no matter how many times they make me repeat it.

6. Best blogging tip you’ve ever received?

When I first started, someone told me to just be me. I think that is perfect advice for anyone in the blogging world and in real life!

7. The most popular 3 websites in your computer history?

1. Bloglovin

2. Pinterest

3. Facebook

8. Go-to piece(s) in your wardrobe right now?

Since it is “winter” (Ummm in the 70’s last week, WTF Alabama???) I have been loving all of my sweaters, skinny jeans and flats or boots.

9. What are you most excited for right now?

Christmas! Duh! Well, really this whole season. I love everything about it! Driving home at night and seeing so many houses decorated and trees shining through the windows, the music, the movies, the magic of the Christmas spirit.

I am also excited about the Magic City Bloggers meet up! It is a food drive to benefit The Firehouse Shelter. Such a great cause!!!

Also, this weekend we are going to the premier of the Dean and Company Christmas Special at Bottletree. It is the show that Chris and I filmed for last month. They released the trailer for it, can you see me? 🙂

10. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?

That you can’t please everyone. As a people pleaser, it was hard to understand and accept that fact. At the end of the day, there will be people that don’t like you or what you are doing no matter how hard you try so just focus on being you! Being the best you that you can be.

11. Do you watch Scandal? (If not, get on that).

Duh! Only one of the best shows ever!

I invite any of you to answer these questions! It is always fun to learn new things about our favorite bloggers.

Oh man the “you can’t please everyone.” It took me a while to get that. And sometimes I still feel pulled in too many directions. But at some point it’ll hit me and I’ll think “I can’t do everything for everyone.” And duh. Scandal is the best ever–although I only binge watch it, which means I’m waiting for season 3 to come to Netflix…next year. hah!

I loved getting to know more about you!! I’m a people pleaser too and the hardest thing is coming to the realization that you wont always please everyone!! Thank god you’re a scandal watcher – hurry up new season!!

I totally agree with your answer to #3. It makes me so, so sad.

I am not a Scandal watcher. I’ve come to accept this, despite the ridicule I get from others.

I am definitely not a people pleaser. I have a hard time making myself happy (I wanted to say pleasing myself but that sounds completely different than what I actually mean) so there’s no way I can worry about making others happy all the time. Life is easier that way.

Not being able to please everyone is so true but a lesson I think it takes people a while to learn.

70s in December? I want to be there.

You can’t please everyone! And I’ve found that sometimes when I try, I end up pissing them off more. Example: My friend wanted to join my sisters and me for the mud run but we already had 4 people (teams of 4), and I spent so long deliberating on how to include everyone that my friend yelled at me for making us too late to get the early bird discount. That’s when I finally realized I should have said, “Sorry, we already have a team set up” at the beginning.

Nadine is an awesome name! I always got tired of having other Jennifers in all my classes, so there’s pros and cons on both sides.

I love that your MC Bloggers are doing a charity food drive that is such a great idea!!! I love Scandal even though it does feel a tad bit like a soap opera as of late but it still has some great cliff hangers!

  • Reply Kateri Von Steal December 9, 2014 at 11:27 am

Sometimes I still get tripped up with the “you can’t please everyone”. I try hard to remember I am the only one who needs to be truly pleased… but it’s so hard!

Oh man I saw you in the video. I played it again to see if I could find you in other spots. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

    Scandal – – – I hear it’s good – I just… I need to get on that *blush*

So jealous of your warm weather. We have rain and freezing temps, with some black ice. Skinny jeans and leggings are on the menu everyday now. Being able to please everyone is impossible so we just have to be ourselves. Hard lesson to learn but so important.

haha so fun I’m going to do this! Yaaaas to this Taylor Swift song I just hate how much I love it but I DO!!!

i love reading this little surveys! your answers were so fun! your blog is so cute! xoxo

  • Reply Nadine December 9, 2014 at 1:09 pm

Totally agree with the name change. As a kid I did not like Nadine, I could never find my name on anything. But now I like that it’s so unique. And starbucks never gets it right, even when I spell it. People always think I am saying Katie?

  • Reply tricia coniglio December 9, 2014 at 1:20 pm

I did not like my name as a kid but I appreciate it now. I don’t understand how the peeps at Starbucks keep getting yours wrong!.

I am def excited for Christmas to get here!

Oh yay, I’m so glad you did this! 🙂 I love your choice for where you would go! Disney is an excellent choice! 🙂

I agree it is extremely sad that kids look up to the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, yikes!

That is so cool about the Magic City Bloggers food drive!! What a fantastic idea!

  • Reply kristen December 9, 2014 at 2:12 pm

I totally agree about who people look up to these days, so true. I guess the good thing is that they can’t stick around forever, I think Justin Bieber is on his way out fo shiz.
And yay Shake it Off! Love it. If I could choose a song that I ‘wanted’ to be mine but wasn’t actually mine, it would be that. I’m not very good at shaking things off but I wish I was.
I hated my name growing up too, but I wouldn’t change it now. Nadine is pretty popular at home, or at least I know I’ve heard it before several times. you should go get a starbucks there, they’ll get your name right.

I love posts like these – I think it’s fun to get to know you better! Love the blogging advice – when you’re first starting out, it’s easy to want to try to replicate what popular bloggers are doing, but I think that being yourself is the only way to really sustain a blog. It’s too exhausting trying to be what you think people want you to be!

  • Reply Lynsey @ Eternally Wanderlyn December 9, 2014 at 6:54 pm

Yay for the food drive! 🙂 I think it’s so awesome that you’re hosting. As for Disney and the name change… when I was little I wanted to change my name to Cinderella. Not even joking. LOL

girl, it’s not winter yet! let me bask in the final moments of fall and pretend there are still leaves outside! 😉

  • Reply kathy@vodka and soda December 10, 2014 at 8:07 am

truth re: you can’t please everyone. also: everyone will have an opinion so why waste your time trying to change it? words are only words and will only have power over you if you give them power.

and dont even get me started on the weather. it’s -3 today and we’re expecting heavy snow fall #RAGE

  • Reply Amanda December 10, 2014 at 6:09 pm

I love the name Nadine! I didn’t like my name as a kid either though! hahaha
I finally finished up this last season of Scandal in my DVR. HOLY WOW!
